Honeysprings Visitors Center - Museum in Checotah - , USA

A very interesting battlefield , small engagement but a very important victory for the Union. This battle had the first black troops fight in more numbers than the troops in South Carolina. This victory stopped the southern army from controlling Kansas and what is now Oklahoma.

The visitor center is excellent. It is clean and well maintained. The museum part was quite interesting. I did not view the movie. I did drive the grounds and check out some of the displays. They are well done but could definitely use some refreshing. Worth the trip.

A nice walk viewing the battlefield and an opportunity to appreciate US history. The center does a great job of teaching about the diversity on the battlefield.

An awesome, new visitors center! The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and there is a lot to see and explore on the self-guided battlefield hike.

They have the best video to watch & the setup displays are excellent. So worth visiting the museum & the walking trails are easy with lots of information signs. A great outing for all ages.

I went on an all black tour and went through Rudisill Library. It was GREAT!! Tickets were purchased in advance, first come first serve. Breakfast and lunch was served with tours and some dancing.

Very well prepared. Nearly new. Great collection and library.

Great museum with detailed information on the battle, who fought there and why. Battlefield trails have many, many new signs and the museum has added numerous exhibits. Very impressive additions.
