Honeycomb Hostel - Backpacker Hostel in Kansas City - 3314 The Paseo, USA

Along with her numerous other shady business practices and endeavors, Elsa is a true professional in the way that she takes advantage of good, well meaning people in addition to exploiting her hardest workers for everything they have. She is kind to people who she feels can benefit her and once she no longer feels they have anything to offer her she behaves in ways that can only be described as vindictive. The hostel itself is very clean thanks to the people she exploits and the beds are comfortable. A great hostel for a very brief stay but I cannot in good faith recommend staying for any extended period of time.

Stayed for one night and I would absolutely stay again. Beautiful, clean accommodations. The bedrooms are immaculate and the beds are very comfortable and clean. They provide sheets, pillows, towels. The bathrooms are very clean. There are two showers and two bathroom stalls that are shared between men and women on the same floor. But provided the place isn’t packed, it seems to be enough. Two great big friendly dogs will greet you at the door and bring their toys and kisses. There is a bit of parking in the back which I would highly recommend because although the house is beautiful and a wonderful place to stay in Kansas City, the neighborhood is a bit sketchy so I wouldn’t recommend walking around at night. But if you drive in, absolutely stay here! Also the hosts are absolutely the best!

Wonderful host, amazing experience. Elsa truly cares for her guests. I believe you won't find anything like this. Location is great. The whole experience was exceptional for me. The beds are clean and neat. The bathrooms and showers are in immaculate condition. Overall, a very friendly and loving environment. This place was a big part of what made my stay at Kansas City as special as it was. Definitely a place to call home away from home!

Had a wonderful time! The host is awesome and really friendly. The place is clean, full of artwork, and her dogs are adorable. There's parking in the back and on the street, and the location is great. Didn't have to drive more than 15-20 minutes to get anywhere (country club plaza, Nelson-Atkins art museum, and WWI memorial are a 10 minute drive if even). As a solo female traveler I felt safe. If I ever come back to KC I will be sure to stay here again:)

Elsa, Max, and Theo have created a very special space for the solo traveler in a historic 1890’s home. Elsa has decorated the home in mid century design with colorful artwork on the walls that encompasses a wonderfully cheerful vibe throughout the house. The bunks are super comfortable and cozy and the showers are hot. The place is clean and welcoming from the back porch with a fantastic colorful mural to the orange doors of the bathroom shower stalls. The Honeycomb Hostel has my highest recommendation. Looking forward to my next stay.

Honeycomb hostel is one of the best I've ever stayed at! Elsa is a remarkable host who goes above and beyond to make you feel at home! You'll get to enjoy Kansas City with new friends you make here at the hostel and the Free Nelson Atkins museum is 2 miles away, along with shops. Tevan is super chill, on site manager and Max "the dog" will make your stay awesome! 2 night stay turned into a week, and Elsa, a serial entrepreneur graciously offered life advice, shaping my entrepreneurial journey! Stay here, you'll be glad you did 🤙

The host Elsa is a blast. The house is huge and very well kept. It has many areas to relax including a 2 story deck. You will find comfy and safe accommodations, interesting people, and of course a great location close to everything in KC. I highly recommend. Also 2 of the cutest pups to entertain you.

I loved my two night stay at The Honeycomb Hostel! The house is big and beautiful, the bathrooms have toilet stalls and shower stalls so it’s easy to share the space, and the beds are the comfiest hostel beds I’ve ever slept on. There’s also a great two-story back deck complete with lights and furniture so you can hang out there during the day or night. Not to mention Elsa, the hostel owner, is one of the most interesting people you’ll ever meet. I highly recommend staying here when you visit KC!
