Homewood Suites by Hilton Warren Detroit - Extended stay hotel in Warren - 31993 Van Dyke Ave, USA

This is by far one of the best hotels I have been to especially at an affordable price. This hotel does offer free breakfast from 7-10am. Their pool was nice and clean and closes at 11pm it was a strong chlorine and bleach smell while sitting in the pool area my kids swam I did not. There is also a beautiful lounge area outside with chairs a mini fire place table 2 grills you are able to utilize. 24hr gym, 24 hours business center, also 24hr laundry area. A huge dining room beside the lobby you can use. Parking is not a problem at all I love that they also have in the room a card holder you have to put your card in to turn the power on in your room. A door bell is on each of the rooms very thick door I couldn't hear anyone beside me. Full kitchen with a stove top, sink, dish washer, Frigidaire,dishes etc. I had one room at this hotel for sure It feels more like a one bedroom apartment. The beds are separate from the living room section which I love even more. They were a little stingy with towels I always bring my own everything anyway. Book the room it is well worth it not to mention they have a pull out couch if you are short on money this room will easily and comfortably sleep 8 adults it does only have 1 bathroom bring you some groceries and enjoy your stay. During the pandemic, my travel changed for work. Subsequently, because I no longer stayed for weeks/months at a time, I tumbled down from my hard-earned Diamond status back to Silver. While any guest should be treated well, I certainly noticed a difference in treatment by staff.||When I checked in I specifically asked about “dairy-free” milk and plant-based options to accommodate my dietary habits. I was assured that there would be oat-milk. Of course when I went down for breakfast, there were plenty of foods available (mostly foods laden with eggs, dairy, etc.) and NO plant-based milk. ||As large of a chain that Hilton is and the changing health consciousness of many people worldwide and food allergies, I am surprised that my only options for breakfast for my stay were: oatmeal made with water, a banana, orange or apple. Black tea. Day in and day out the same and when I brought it to the attention of the breakfast staff and front desk, they both walked me over to the “whole milk” and “2% milk”. NOT dairy-free. How hard is it to buy a container of unsweetened soy or oat-milk??||The “non-plant based” hotel guests certainly had many many more breakfast options: pancakes, lots of rolls and sweet breakfast breads/pastries/muffins, croissants, bagels, eggs, waffles, various creamers for coffee (that safe derived from milk products). Yogurt, cream cheese.||More and more people are looking for healthier food choices due to diabetes, heart disease or general concern to eat healthier. Hilton would do a better service to their patrons by expanding their health based breakfast offerings. ||I can honestly say, Marriott does a better job by having dairy-free yogurt and plant-based milk at a minimum. These small concerns for hotel guests can make me consider the Marriott chain/properties when choosing my hotel accommodations.

We weren't at the hotel for long but the experience was the worst I've had with Hilton properties. Checking In When we stopped at the desk to get physical room keys the girl behind the counter seemed as though she didn't care about her job at all. It's the first time I've never been thanked for being a diamond member, which isn't a big deal but odd. There was no mention of the perks for being a diamond member, she didn't mention pool hours or breakfast time. She didn't even direct us to the elevator. The Pool To be fair, we were arriving after the pool was probably closed and only there for one night; but not sure because she didn't give us the info. Maybe we wanted to hit up the pool before check out. We didn't go to the pool because we didn't have time but it was the first time in many years of travelling that I recall not being given the pool info The Room It was ok. The bathroom felt extremely cramped for a king suite. The door almost hits the toilet. The bed was comfy enough though the bedding was crazy thin. Breakfast This was the first time I recall being at a hotel where breakfast was at 7am instead of 6. Again, since we weren't told, we didn't know and we came down at 6. Imagine our disappointment. Once 7 rolled around, the breakfast itself was lackluster even for hotel food. There was a "parfait bar" with yogurt...and that's pretty much it. There was a mini menu that listed several items that just weren't there. There were no cups to make the parfait, no granola, etc. The food itself, all had a very flat flavor. It all was about the same and smelled and tasted like it was being stored next to food that was on the verge of expiration. Overall a very underwhelming stay. I left Holiday Inn to get away from their continuous problems and I'm hoping this recent experience we had with Hilton isn't an indication of things to come.

Homewoods Suites is a great hotel for a family stay, the suites are spacious, customer service is great. Pool area is awesome, there is also an outdoor area for grilling, a fire pit to sit around if you want to have a bon fire or family time. Great continental breakfast also restaurants around in the area, but if you like to cook there is a stove, real dishes available, it’s a kitchen lol. I can go on and on but My family enjoys homewood suites it’s our hotel of choice for a staycation.

This is a clean and fresh hotel! The room layout is very nice. Full refrigerator stove top and plates, cups, spoons, forks ect.. all come in the cost. Professional staff and a great array of food.

We came here for a hockey tournament and although the exterior sketched me out, the hotel was great. The staff was amazing, dealing with two different hockey teams and their shenanigans. They were super nice and told the parents if the kids were making too much noise (which they all were). ||They have families that live here so I felt bad for them as we took the hotel over but everyone was great and awesome for our Columbus Day weekend. Thank you!||We also won the tournament and an even bigger thanks!

Our stay was for 6 nights. Went to fitness center…no towels or hand wipes. An employee removed the empty Han wipe container and never returned.|Asked for room to be cleaned on our 4th day…never was cleaned. This particular cleaning was requested way in advance of hotel policy (two days before requested cleaning date) We reported this “oversight” to the night clerk. He apologized, took our our room number and added to many other room numbers that were not cleaned either. |Returned the following morning and asked clerk at front desk if we were still on for the cleaning of our room. (This would be our 5th day) She replied in the affirmative and we left for the day. Upon our return that evening we found a clean room but zero towels. Another late night trip to the night clerk asking for towels. He replied that a number of rooms also did not receive towels that day. He brought some to our room that evening. The towels he brought were bath mates instead of bath towels. The bath towels were all in the dryer; that’s all he had to give.|One late night evening we were awakened to loud TV noise. After we walked the third and fourth floor halls we found it came from the room just below us. Almost 1AM we reported the noise to the night clerk. He would investigate. We returned to our room. The noise quieted down for approximately 10 minutes then got cranked up again. We took another trip downstairs to the night clerk, reported it once again. The night clerk took another visit to the 3rd floor (that’s where it was coming from..the room directly below us) and within roughly 10 minutes everything fell silent and we finally slept. ||Our last morning here during breakfast a homeless gentleman was sleeping in the corner of the dining area. A manager approached him, spoke with him, and the uninvited person made his way out the door. The manager then spoke with the lady attending the breakfast area. ||Two stars for this establishment is what we rated it. If it wasn’t for the helpfulness of the night clerk/manager this would have been a 1 star rating. |The day attendants at the front desk seemed very low energy and not very sociable.|This hotel seriously needs a consistent all hands on deck manager with a new housekeeping manager. ||We will be trying the Hampton directly next door when we visit Warren again.

Rooms were adequate but don’t leave them. On top of the poor attitudes by some of the front desk personnel, the entire hotel wreaks of weed. People were allowed to smoke in the breakfast area which was prevalent during the Wednesday night social. If smoking isn’t allowed in buildings, then it should be enforced period. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this location to my professional friends but would recommend it for some who is wanting to do pre-flight to a Snoop Dog or Whiz Khalifa concert.
