Homewood Suites by Hilton Sarasota - Extended stay hotel in Sarasota - 3470 Fruitville Rd, USA

This location is great for a business trip. It’s close to grocery stores and planet fitness, etc. the staff here is friendly and helpful. Wednesday night “cocktail” hour really helped us out because we were exhausted from traveling and kept us from having to go elsewhere. The food was delicious and higher quality than most of those functions. Only stayed 2 nights but slept great.

Mistake to book, first time in Sarasota and upon walking into this hotel I immediately wish I could leave. I travel every week this is easily the dirtiest Hilton I’ve been in years. Does not smell good, hasn’t been updated in at least 20 years. Carpets are creepy and stained. I can hear whoever is staying in the room next to me sneeze as well as every word of their conversation. No good restaurants nearby. Note to the wise, book somewhere else.

I never leave bad reviews, because it feels dramatic and extreme, but I truly felt the need to share my experience in order to help others. For some background, I am a young female who travels alone to Sarasota monthly for work. I booked this hotel with my company for a work trip and got to the hotel and immediately had to find a new hotel. At check-in, the manager insisted my reservation was cancelled even though I had a received a mobile check-in confirmation. The manager then booked me a new room at a higher price and then realized I was checked in for two rooms. He then cancelled my new room and I was able to check-in and get a room key. The room was in a completely separate building with no immediate parking and minimal lighting on a busy street with lots of foot traffic. Once in the room, it immediately smelled of mold/mildew and it was impossible to find the light switches. The carpet was very old. All of the furniture was scratched and dented and the bed mattress had a stain. Let’s just say, I was rebooked at a new hotel in 5 minutes. As someone who comes to the area monthly, there are plenty of other hotels that are much better, safer and cleaner than this hotel. I would not book here if you can stay anywhere else.

As always, Blanca Garcia, the general manager, and her entire staff were nothing short of exceptional. I have stayed at this location many times, and have never had any reason to write a negative review. Blanca, her front office staff, the housekeeping staff, and the maintenance staff are all outstanding, and exude hospitality, in their professional, knowledgeable, and friendly/family oriented personas.||I will look forward to my next trip to Sarasota, and to visit my Homewood Suites family.

First time at this hotel. I had the queen bedroom suite. The room was nice and very clean. The workers were friendly. The lobby was welcoming and clean. The only issue I had with my room was the bathroom fixtures were very loose to turn on the shower. The outside of the hotel was nice but could use some cleaning up in the landscaping.

I stay at Hilton hotels a lot, not only for the honors points but also for the consistently high quality. This hotel was disappointing and needs some work. I will note that the people I dealt with were fine—friendly and professional. But the hotel badly needs updating. My room smelled of mildew and the ac was an old and loud unit with an old fashioned control (like three settings); most Hiltons now have digital thermostats. I had a few small roaches in the bathroom and a couple of ants in the kitchen area. The closet door was off its track and leaning against the back of the closet, and the bathroom door was warped and didn’t shut fully. My wife particularly likes Hilton’s use of freshly laundered duvet covers as opposed to reused bedspreads. This hotel had a bed spread above what was the filler to a duvet or comforter. Most troubling was the total inconsistency of the WiFi. I was not able to use my tablet to join a work meeting online; I had to turn Wi-Fi off on my phone and use that for internet (and I like to listen to music on my iPad in the evening and that wasn’t possible either). When I inquired, the front desk indicated this had been a problem for a long time and a fix was not in sight. I don’t expect everything to be perfect every time, but the infrastructure on the hotel and the day to day upkeep on the rooms needs attention.

Staff was extremely pleasant. Rooms were clean. Temperature in rooms were good. Nice breakfast options. |Walking to breakfast cleaning staff was very nice and helpful. |Would definitely stay again at this location. First time at a homewood suites and a very good experience. It was a pleasure staying at this property, which is 15 minutes drive to the beach .is a nice hotel with excellent food and service. They offer complementary breakfast the coffee in the room. Breakfast is good and have a lot of choices. Overall The staff # 1 the experience was brilliant and enjoyed the getaway a lot. I will definitely stay there again.
