Homewood Suites by Hilton Oakland-Waterfront - Extended stay hotel in Oakland - 1103 Embarcadero, USA

1 star is even too generous. Let me begin by saying this is by far the worst Hilton owned hotel I have ever stayed at. I’m not sure if this specific hotel is franchised out or in direct ownership with the rest of their fleet but I can surely say someone has forgot about this business. I booked these rooms months in advance. Upon checking in (at this point unable to cancel the reservation for a full refund) there was a notification that one of the elevators were down. It was actually all the elevators in the main building. After driving 12 hours from Southern California with an EV car. I looked forward to being able to charge it over night. I was told by the woman at the front desk that they only have 1 charger and it is broken due to the owner not wanting to get it fixed. The MAIN reason I chose this hotel was due to the benefit of EV charging. I had to now add extra time to my last day to find a place to charge my vehicle when it should’ve been able to be done at the hotel. None of this was stated until AFTER I checked in. After getting up to our rooms in an extremely shaky old elevator, we were greeted with lights that flicked multiple times before they turned on. An air conditioner that took over 8 hours to drop 5 degrees making the room very hot and uncomfortable overnight. Clearly this building most likely the rooms has not been updated in forever as the only pictures on their website that were mostly accurate to what the hotel looked like were the lobby. It is extreme false advertising from the benefits that they claim to have (ev charging) to the accommodations. I was able to take a look in the pool are as I wanted to enjoy a dip. The pool and hot tub were disgusting. Extremely cloudy and the area had visibly been used the night before (empty beer cans, people’s clothing everywhere) I went for a stroll in the later evening and noticed that the security guard who is supposed to be watching the grounds had his car parked with the flashing lights on but was nowhere to be found. The front desk employee was also missing when I had a question regarding getting ice. Clearly these employees don’t care about your car getting broken into at all. Overall again this was by far the worst Hilton owned hotel we have ever stayed at. DO NOT waste your money staying here even if it’s a couple $ less than other hotels along the way. This place is embarrassing to be associated with the Hilton brand. Although breakfast was offered which was nice, they were served on paper plates. Very odd for a multi billion dollar company.

It's an OK place to stay. You will wake up to bugling from the USCG island across the water. One of the people I was staying with said the building smelled bad, but I didn't smell anything bad. Our sink faucet was too close to the basin and was almost unusable. But the location is amazing, the staff are nice and the breakfast is nothing to complain about. The building is noticeably old, but there's some fixes for the issues the bldg. has for its age. Also the way they did the keycards is horrible. If you key spends even the smallest amount of time by your phone, it won't work anymore and you have to get a new one. Between the 6 people in my group, we went through 10-20 keycards.

Location is convenient and safe, especially talking about oakland. The hotel is going through a remodel th we rooms are beneath standard my room smelled like mildew the whole time I was there. I understand they cleaned the room, but the room shouldn't smell like mold when entering the room. The front desk person was great. Breakfast was just ok. The 24-hour coffee and tea were great. The snack bar at the location was good. The pool slightly heated was good. I rhe electric charge was cut like most places in oakland that would of been nice to be able to charge your car at the hotel.iay try to stay at the executive inn down the road next time.

Fantastic waterfront hotel in Oakland just up the road from Jack London Square. Room was very clean. It is an older hotel so the rooms are a little small but is nice and it serves the purpose of a hotel. The breakfast is really good with a full menu. The gym is small 2 treadmill a stationary bike and some free weighs. Good enough. The patio is great overlooking the water and there is a nice waterfront path. Great experience

We had an amazing experience at our stay here! Staff was so friendly, very accommodating to our large crowd (2 basketball teams) and they even gifted us a costco size package of water bottles! Sabrina checked us in and was so sweet and friendly! Hotel was very clean and we always had a parking spot! Beautiful views and great breakfast spread! Highly recommend!

Your night clerk is extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never been given such a hassle checking in as I got tonight. Extremely rude. Extremely condescending. Extremely lazy. Also, the hotel is very dirty. Lots of abandoned cars parked around the parking lot. There were holes in the floor of my room, under the carpet. The room was filthy, dorty, dusty, trash left in the room. Random hairs all over thevokacem One of my employees told the front desk that her room smelled like smoke, so the desk clerk just checked her out of the room, and didn't offer a different room. My employee had to find a new hotel to stay at. Avoid this dump at all costs.

I guess it wasn't horrible, but the hotel was way overpriced for what it was. The room clearly wasn't cleaned super well, since I found two $20 bills under the mattress when I was doing a bedbug inspection (no sign of those, though). The overall hotel was dated and dingy, the pool was cold and not super well maintained, there wasn't a hotel bar or restaurant as far as I could tell which was unfortunate since the hotel wasn't really walkable to anything. Shower was dirty and the shower curtain was way too thin, water got everywhere. For a more luxurious and less expensive Hilton brand experience, go for the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco Bay Bridge. I will say that this place had free hot breakfast, which has unfortunately become a rarity at hotels.

One of the worst Homewood hotels I have stayed in. I went for a family trip to this place and chose this hotel considering my past experience, but my trip was completely ruined. The hotel is in shambles. From one set of elevators not working, to filthy & broken rooms. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone traveling for work or family. Except for breakfast, nothing was good at this hotel. The hotel staff was good, but they cannot make up for the filthy experience one gets while staying in the room. I had to bring a fresh set of sheets myself, as I found dirt on the sheets that were already there in my room. Attaching the photos I took during my stay.
