Homewood Suites by Hilton Kansas City/Overland Park - Extended stay hotel in Overland Park - 10556 Marty St, USA

Good place to stay, we would return. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The suites with the kitchen were great for our family. The breakfast was great! Eggs, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, overnight oats, fruit, bagels, muffins, English muffins and cereal. The staff was pretty good about filling up the food as well as cleaning up the tables in the seating area. The shower water pressure was fantastic. The pool looked clean. A little work is needed here and there around the premises.

Disappointing Stay at Homewood Suites Rating: ★★☆☆☆ I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites at 10556 Marty St, Overland Park, KS, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While some people have recommended this place over the nearby Embassy Suites, my experience was quite the opposite. Here are some pros and cons from my stay: Pros: The room initially seemed clean. Some staff members were friendly and tried to be helpful. The pool, even without a heater, was enjoyable once when we got access. Cons: Key Outage: Due to a system outage, the hotel was unable to provide key cards for the rooms. This made it incredibly challenging as we had to rely on the staff to escort us to our room each time. The lack of proactive communication about this issue was a major drawback. Despite communicating via the Hilton app upon arrival, we were not informed about this situation. Multiple attempts to call the front desk before arrival went unanswered. Room Condition: Although the room appeared clean at first glance, there was noticeable dirt and significant wear and tear. The bathroom, fabrics on sofa/chairs, was very worn and stains. Staff Attitude: While some staff members were friendly, others seemed extremely annoyed at having to escort guests to their rooms. This lack of empathy and poor customer service was disappointing. Breakfast Pool Access: My sons were eager to use the pool after breakfast. We were informed by the front desk that it would open at 8 AM. However, after getting ready, we were told otherwise, causing frustration and inconvenience. Parking Issues: When leaving the hotel at 10 AM, our car was blocked by a double-parked SUV. The hotel staff claimed ignorance, but we later discovered that the front desk had specifically instructed the family to park there. This lack of sufficient parking and the mismanagement of the situation were unacceptable. Comparison with Embassy Suites (across street): Rooms: The rooms at Embassy Suites are newly renovated and very clean. Parking: Ample parking with no issues. Breakfast: Far superior with multiple options compared to Homewood Suites. Pool: The Embassy Suites pool was messy and the hot tub seemed very dirty. The presence of older kids with inattentive parents made the experience unpleasant. Overall, my stay at Homewood Suites was disappointing, especially in comparison to my experiences at the Embassy Suites across the street. Improvements in communication, customer service, and facilities management are necessary to make this a better option for travelers. I would not recommend this hotel. When issues arose I would stay across the street for the same experience.

Front desk staff were very friendly. They checked in on us after we’d settled in the room. Room was clean. Hotel itself seemed very clean. We only stayed one night so very limited on what I can review. Parking was packed at the end of the night, but there was a concert that happened that night and most hotels were sold out so that’s to be expected. I appreciate that the parking lot was well lit.

My family & I traveled through Missouri (hotel is just inside Kansas), selecting the Homewood Suites brand for the 2-room amenity of living room separate from the bedroom. The hotel was very accommodating, honoring our request for a top level, corner room, next door to each other. The hotel was clean and well-lit.

Great breakfast variety. That was the best part of the stay. ||Not very warm welcome. Seemed like housekeepers were helping guests at front desk. Waters not offered for HH Diamond. Room was fine. Sofa bed wasn’t comfortable. I did like happy a full fridge and freezer

Room was nice, staff very friendly/ helpful. I tried to get a glass of wine, paid & got the card to run the machine, it never worked for either type wine. Staff just said, "we must be out" She did refund my $5. hotel was very nice for families staying for several days, lots of kids/familes in the pool. I will consider this again for my vacation get aways!

Well run hotel. Very clean and well maintained lodging. One of the better breakfast bars I have experienced in a long time - a big deal for me as I am dairy free, gluten free. Nice outdoor pool area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Daily hot chocolate chip cookies. Good value for the money.

I checked into this hotel in July 2024. At check in time they asked me to move to a king room instead of double beds. I politely declined. They offered "a big discount" I notified them that I had booked with points. They said how about a point refund. I asked how much and they told me 40k. I said ok I'd move for that. The desk clerk (a middle eastern woman) said it'd take a few days to get them back in my account. I've now made half a dozen calls each time they glad hand me and say ohh sorry we'll take care of today. I finally called and left a message for the gm... She never returned the call. You might ask yourself is that the type of service you expect? I made my kid sleep on the couch and what did I get?. Well not what they promised. Shady stuff
