Room and location was decent. But Extremely noisy as if walls are thin. I can hear conversations, toilets flushing, doors closing, etc. and the beds/pillows are horrible. I can’t wait to get home so I can sleep in my bed. Better off sleeping on the floor with folded towels as your pillow. My back hurts. When I think of Hilton , I think of comfort and not wanting to get out of bed. I literally dread going to sleep. Will end up at wal mart for a better pillow since I have a few days left here
Once we arrived to the front desk we were immediately greeted and given service with one supervisor assisting to make sure we were in the correct area. She then informed us of an upgrade to our room which was magnificent!! Beth has outstanding top tier customer service as she made sure that we settled in nicely and had everything we needed!
Beth was very respectful and nice. Her kindness was very much appreciated. Hotel lobby was clean and very organized. Rooms were nice and clean. Love the free breakfast. Definitely would recommend staying here. Homewood Suites hasn’t let me down yet. Please don’t jinx it.
The hotel was undergoing renovations and was a little noisy- the work stopped at 6 pm, so there was no evening disturbance. I am sure the update will enhance the appearance of the rooms. However, the rooms are clean as they are now although outdated. More to me than the modernization of furniture is the friendliness and kindness of the staff- the desk staff is awesome each and everyone especially Jha'ne Wheeler- thank you for going above and beyond.
The hotel is under renovation, so there was some noise during the day. Although my room had not yet been updated, it was clean and spacious. More importantly, the staff at the front desk are all awesome—friendly, kind, and welcoming. In particular, Jha'ne Wheeler was so helpful and accommodating during check-in. Her kindness was much appreciated.
I am in Jacksonville FL for work. I checked in June 9th and am checking out August 4th. Upon check-in, I was informed that the hotel was under renovations but that I was on one of the new floors. While checking in, the front desk asked for a CC for incidentals, (the room has been fully paid for by the company I work for) I asked not to put a card down and that I would not be charging to the room. The woman at the front desk did not know how to bypass the CC, so she ran it for $25.00.|When I got to my room, there was a foul odor. I found that the Dishwasher was filled with dirty, un-rinsed dishes. I travel for a living and know that things can happen, I put some detergent in but the dishwasher did not start. The buttons are broken. I notified the front desk the next evening after work, and was asked if I wanted to change rooms. I did not as I had already unpacked etc. She said that it would be looked at but they would not clean the dishes, to which I replied that they were not mine, and I would expect them to be clean when I checked in. I asked for cleaning service and reminded them of the dishwasher. Maintenance verified that the dishwasher was broken, and that they would try to fix it. The room was cleaned, but not the dishes. It took 3 times to have them clean the dishes, but they put them back in the dirty broken dishwasher. On the 7th day of my stay, I was told the dishwasher would need to be replaced and it would be a day or two. It has been 47 days and still no dishwasher. The 2nd day of my stay, the hotel ran my Credit Card for $300. The front desk could not answer why. I tried every night and every morning for a week to find out why and have it removed. I was told each time that a message was left for the manager but I was never contacted. Since I have been here, the power has been out twice, the water has been. turned off a minimum of 8 times, and the fire alarm was set off by construction at 8 am. The water is off again today. I was told it Ould be back on at 2:30. I work at 2... The girl at the desk told me "a sign was posted yesterday, you should have read it". I would not be typing this review if it weren't for her nasty disposition.
Great location and all the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. For me, those were the only positives. I checked in using the Hilton app on the morning of my stay and selected my room, only to be given a completely different room on arrival. Then I had to go back downstairs because the room type wasn't what I had reserved.
Once I got to my actual room, I noticed what all these other recent reviews are pointing out: the rooms here are in serious need of renovation. Most of the furniture was well-worn and beat up. The couch was so worn out that it hurt to sit on it after a few minutes. For some reason there was a DVD player, which just made it feel even more outdated and bizarre. The bedding and mattress were the standard ones that seem to be consistent across the Hilton brands, so at least that was fine.
The parking garage is confusing. It seems to be city-owned, but essentially abandoned. During the check-in process, they imply that keycard access is needed for the garage, but this is absolutely not the case. It's unattended and the gate stays up 24/7. The posted rate is $20 a day, but there's a sign outside the garage that says hotel guests can request validation at the lobby for a discounted rate. Meanwhile the hotel charges you that rate if you don't know any better and don't see the sign outside the garage.
We love this place! Beth at the front desk and Lisa during breakfast add so much value to the stay. Beth is happy, friendly and professional while Lisa is full of life and brightens every room she walks through. I can’t say enough about these ladies. We go back for the family environment they create! Both need a raise in my opinion.
