Homewood Suites by Hilton Boston / Andover - Extended stay hotel in Andover - 4 Riverside Dr, USA

The hotel is an above average long-stay hotel. What really stood out for me was the breakfast service. The hostess Sima was super friendly, helpful and cheerful. Rooms are pretty standard (although the kitchens are small and the dishwasher takes forever). The pool is well maintained and the outdoor lounge area is a nice touch. The rooms were clean and well stocked. The hotel does show a few signs of age - some paint chipping, woodwork is cracked, carpet is worn in places. That's to be expected for any hotel, though. Also, there were no vending machines (?) The snacks for sale in the lobby were super expensive. Going to a grocery/drugstore required getting in the car and driving through weird highway traffic. (weird note - there is a high school close by and the marching band practiced every afternoon. noticeable, but not too annoying) I would stay again if I was ever in the area again. Above average, no major issues.

Horrible customer service. The girls in the front desk never want to work. You ask them for room service they give you a time then never follows through. The cleaning ladies were on their phones texting and making phone calls and blasting music while cleaning. She in particular too 4 hours in one room mean while o seen her other coworkers hopping from one room to another making sure she is moving to the next rooms accordingly. The men that was working there were so much nicer and very helpful. And the cook for breakfast was so kind and very greeting. Her energy was full of sparks. But I will never book here ever again. They were not reliable ever.

We stayed here for an event nearby. We had decided to shower at the hotel before the event. Giant mistake, tub doesn't empty and we don't find this out until after my boyfriend took his. I call down to the front desk and am advised they have no maintenance on duty and they only thing they can do it move our room (we didn't have time for this) or a plunger we had to wait for because someone else was using it. Plunger didn't work and I ended up having to shower in calf deep dirty plungered water. When I went to the front desk in the am to check out, I told her what had happened as the gentleman the night before told me to and they could adjust our bill. She told me there was no such thing and we can talk to a manager Monday. I will never stay here again. And if you want any kind of service, and tub that drains, you shouldn't stay here either. I expected more from a Hilton, especially being a Hilton Honors member.

They put unwashed dirty sheets on my bed, and the entire hallway outside my room smelled like farts, probably due to a sewage leak or mold. Pool was also dirty full of hair and insects. The continental breakfast was disgusting. Everything being served was either undercooked or overcooked. For 200$ a night I expect better.

Hotel is not close to any food or shopping. Clean rooms. Nice staff. The food offered at the "market" is way out of line for prices. A microwave dinner is $12. A pint of ice cream, $14.

Room was not clean. The bathroom floor and walls were sticky to touch and it smelled of mildew/mold. Walls appeared to have dirt on them, faucets in bath and kitchenette had residue around them from leaking. In the hallways, room doors were dented and dirty. Pool doesn't seem to be maintained well. We chose to cancel with Hilton customer service and left before staying the night.

I travel for work and am a Hilton Honors member. I average about 90 hotel stays a year. I generally hold the Homewood Suites to a higher standard than a regular hotel. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. My only ask is not to have a room near the elevator. So, I get my room key and go up to third floor, and my room is right next to the elevator. I decide to roll with it and just head in. Immediately I start noticing the room is not nearly as nice as a regular Homewood Suites is. I do a couple of my standard checks to make sure the room is clean. When I pulled up the bed sheets there were 2 large stains on the top sheet. I didn't bother to look further I went down and asked for another room and showed them the photo of the sheets. I was then given a room on the first floor. While at the desk I picked up a local menu. I went to the room, this room while clean was clearly not well maintained. Cabinet doors are loose and nearly falling off, there are no pulls on the drawers, so the sides of the drawers are dirty from people grabbing the sides to open them, but at least the bed is clean. I order some food; I'm waiting for delivery and it's now about 25mins past when they say it will be delivered. I'm about to call when I get a call from the front desk saying my food was left at the front desk. Wasn't really happy about that, but I go down to grab it. The desk person says, "sorry I thought I called you earlier, it came about 10 mins ago." The food was cold, I call the food place and they told me it had actually been delivered about 30 mins ago and the front desk wouldn't let them deliver to my room and the front desk told them they would call. That kind of policy is horrible, and I've only ran into it a couple times before at Hilton brands. It would have been ok if the front desk had actually called when the food had come, though at that point I had already showered and was not really dressed to stroll down to the lobby. Speaking of the shower, the drain was so clogged that at the end of a 5 min shower, the water was above my ankles.

My stay at Homewood suites has been a great experience! The room was clean and well maintained. The mini kitchen in the room is just what is needed for home cooked meals for extended stays so you won't have to eat out all the time. Everyone I've had the pleasure of interacting with at the hotel was polite ans helpful with accommodations I needed during my stay. Only thing that was a bummer was that it isn't located in walking distance near any shopping or eating locations. Other than that, 10/10 would recommend over other hotels in the area
