I recently stayed at this location as a extended stay guess. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. I really enjoyed having my living space separate from my sleeping space. Having a kitchenette was great with the exception that it is not really set up for extended stay guess, more items like mixing and storing bowls, additional cooking utensils (only had a spatula), colanders, and a larger wastebasket. In the bedroom my only issue was that in the closet I only had 2 hangers and no iron until I requested one.
As for the staff, they were great. Ms. Pamela from the evening shift always greeted me with the smile and a hug. I really miss seeing her. Ms. Anita in the morning, always made sure to tell me good morning and ask how I am doing and how my family is doing. When I have to travel back to Amarillo I will definitely be staying at this hotel as they really make you feel like family.
We arrived and were met by a very friendly front desk staff. Pamela was the front desk clerk who greeted us with a smile and full of information. We felt welcomed and found our room clean and roomy with the extra kitchenette and living room area.
Very nice experience and will look to stay here again on our way home.
This hotel was exactly what we needed after a long day of driving! Pamela at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful! She made us feel so welcome. The room was clean with no issues. Would definitely stay here again!
We stay at Hilton properties all the time and this one has to be among the bottom 10% of those that we have stayed at. The property does not have the typical Homewood layout - it probably was something else originally - which no doubt contributed to the problem. The rooms, for a Homewood, are tiny. We had three in our party and had a very hard time positioning our luggage in the room. The fitness center was a joke. A single room (more like a large closet) with only an elliptical and peloton. Thats it. My mother's assisted living facility has more equipment.||On the plus side, its conveniently located near the highway. So there's that.
I wrote this review on Trip Advisor|——————-||This is the worst experience that I have ever had. I was forced to stay in this Hotel due to some remodeling at my home. We thought that this would be a good option since the rooms come with a mini kitchen, and was essentially an efficiency apartment. No complaints with the room overall although the sofa was old and stained and obviously needed to be replaced. The problem came with service. Upon checking in the room, we immediately knew that we would need more towels since only one day was provided and we would be staying at least 2 days. The rooms are only cleaned once every 2 days to begin with but I was okay with that. I called once on day 1 to request towels, no response. I called twice on day 2, no response. I called again on day 3, but was told that since the room was being cleaned that day, we would get more towels. No luck. I saw a cart down the hall and had to take some for myself. There is no literature in the room about available activities, restaurants, services, etc or where I can even get ice. Amarillo is not a vacation destination or Mecca but can you at least point me to a good place to eat! The employee (manager?) at the front desk during the day was rude every time I spoke with her and she rushed me when I tried to explain my problem with the room. I was finally fed up when my request for toilet paper was ignored. I called the front desk and was told that I would have to come to get the toilet paper myself since there was no one available. This was almost midnight mind you. It is unfathomable that there is not a single employee that can bring towels or toilet paper. My question is who would respond if the shower did not work or if there was a flood in the room? The “free” breakfast is a joke. If you like powdered eggs, tasteless gravy, or coffee that might as well have been water then by all means enjoy. No fresh fruit or even oatmeal to be found. I am a lifetime diamond member and this is unacceptable. I advise everyone to avoid this property like the plague. I will file a formal complaint.
Nice room and clean. The bed was just ok. Nice shower. Breakfast is not served until 7 am. It's too late for travelers that want to be on the road by 7am.
We checked in later than expected and were greeted by the most friendly lady behind the check in desk. Pamela was so happy to see us, made it feel like home. Later that evening I went down to get some milk for our cookies because my husband loves a late night snack. Pamela was so kind to get me a small cup from the kitchen since there was none to purchase. To me that makes all the difference in the world. She truly has a servant's heart.
During check out we got the same kind and friendly help. I didn't catch their names but they were both very pleasant and started out morning off right.
You truly have extraordinary employees
My family and I stayed here on our way to CO… the room was nice and clean but the beds were terrible!
The king bed was hard and uncomfortable, the kids complained the pull out bed was uncomfortable too. Pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable as well.
The complimentary breakfast was okay, not the best ever but not the worst.
I gave 3 stars because of location, friendly staff and cleanliness…
If you like hard beds, lumpy pillows and mediocre complimentary breakfast this is the place to stay!
