So cute and quaint it surprised me! I stayed here on a Sunday night, check in is easy, there are various room styles, and we got room 44 right by the office. It was so nice! Quite large, bathroom was huge with a tub, I like the fireplace and multiple heaters that are needed for this cool weather. The decor is so homey I felt like I was in a little "luxury cabin". Basic amenities, clean and nice employees. Super easy to find, very central to walk to downtown and stumble on back. My only complaint was dummies going to the wrong room and we probably had 3 different people trying to come into our room when it says directly on the door, "private room, 44" like people need to pay attention. But other than that it was very peaceful

Rustic room = old. I will say it was very clean. I didn’t get to peek at what a remodeled room looked like. ||Pros - nice location in the neighborhood. We didn’t have a problem parking. You can walk to shops, restaurants and the beach easily.||The older room was clean. ||Check in was easy and reception was friendly and helpful.||||Cons - bed caved in the middle. No headboard, and with bed against the window we hit the blinds to sit up to read or watch the tv.||TV was terrible. No sound on local channels, Very slow response with remote.||While very clean, the mini kitchen and bathroom are just old. Basic supplies in kitchen area. No cooktop, ( we didn’t need it anyway ) just small fridge and microwave. Sink and some dish ware.||In the end... you do get what you pay for. Good location and friendly service, but a really old room. We were not surprised as we read prior reviews, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

This is a "sister" property to the beautiful Carmel Mission Ranch - but not remotely as nice. We were there for a wedding and the Ranch was sold out and they offered this related Inn. When I made the reservation they recommended a room on the 3rd floor & "Yes, there is an elevator." I called the day before arrival to ask if the had AC since the area was experiencing a heatwave. "Yes." We got there: elevator is only available to guests with ADA proof and there was no AC, and the room was 85-ddegrees - not acceptable. Plus the Inn was rundown. The Receptionist kindly found us a room at the lovely Cypress Inn in down the street but $200 more a night but worth it.

I can’t believe this place has gotten some negative reviews. I paid $120 a night for a “rustic” room that was spacious, comfortable and convenient. Room 49, which has a fireplace, a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, and dinnerware, and a pleasant queen size bed with a nice quilt. $120 in Carmel. The grounds are beautiful and a short walk to the spectacular Carmel Beach. The breakfast at Mission Ranch is Spartan, as some have noted, but I appreciate that it is available. The donuts aren’t bad, (although to be honest the coffee is a little weak) and you can sit outside and enjoy the sheep. I almost don’t want to let people know about this. Thanks, Clint, you made my day!

You cannot beat the location or the price! The interior rooms are quaint and clean. Stay in one of those!! Cons: We stayed in the rustic cabin next to the fireplace-#49- which smelled of woodsmoke. Odd because the fireplace was gas, as was the fire pit right outside our door. The carpet was stained in places but overall clean; bed had NO headboard, and was against the window, so you are leaning on blinds to watch TV or read. It was LOUD as a boisterous group of at least 12 was at the fire pit outside our door until 9pm, then again at 6:30am, waking us up. There is no property management on site after hours. I would stay here again, but in an inside room!

If you are old enough to recall inns from the 1960s &70s, this will feel familiar. We stayed in one of the "rustic" rooms, with a gas fireplace. It was quaint, cozy, and homey. It was also very clean, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We loved the rustic room, and the price was right, but we realize that someone looking for a room with all the modern amenities might not appreciate it as much as we did. The bathroom was small and drafty, and the carpet was a bit worn. Still, the grounds were lovely, the room was extremely private, and it was quiet. I would rank this as a hidden gem in Carmel, within walking distance of restaurants and shops, and just a 5-minute drive to the beach.

We stopped here for one night on our way south on the Pacific Coastal Highway. The room was absolutely fabulous, large, well appointed, clean and very comfortable. Its location was great, withing a short walk of the beach and downtown. We were a little disappointed in the breakfast which is served at its sister hotel, the Mission Ranch requiring a short drive. The drive was not an issue since we were traveling to church since it was Easter Sunday. The selection of food for breakfast was disappointing, you would think that for locations taking such pride and care to make your stay special they could do better than a continental breakfast. I give the Inn a strong 5 stars, the breakfast is a 3 at best. Overall there score should be 4.5. We would still recommend the inn if you are ever in Carmel!

This place is centrally located in Carmel and virtually everything is within walking distance. You can grab a free breakfast at Mission Ranch, and that is always good. (Homestead is affiliated with Mission Ranch and owned by Clint Eastwood.) My friends and I go every year and enjoy our stay! Friendly and clean.

My favorite beach on the California coast! I prefer it in the winter when it's less crowded. There's always, always, people on it though. Beautiful waves, soft sand, lots of space to walk at low tide. It's a great place to bring your dog but be aware
