Homegate Inn & Suites - Hotel in Southaven - 5115 Pepper Chase Dr, USA

First off...the listing is misleading. There is no breakfast (anymore...used to be an amenity)...as well as no pool. The rooms are semi clean and smell of mildew. The staff used to be phenomenal, but (I think?) new ownership took over and fired everyone that wasn't of a particular race (their own)...now everyone is so rude (with the exception of one guy he is very professional and kind). And hope you don't have to do any laundry while you're staying there...the machines take your money and won't start and they're adamant on no refunds yet still keep non working washer and dryers in their guest laundry room. A total rip off of $4 per load to an unsuspecting guest. The halls smell 24/7 of marijuana and condoms are usually always stuck outside to the pavement (so gross!!)|Been staying here for a few months looking for a home rental in the process so I have an overall personal experience of the stay here. One would ask why I choose to stay if the experience is horrible...well I ask myself this everyday. The ONLY reason is the price. God send us a miracle and get us outta here!!

Positive: Nice young lady at check-in. Very clean room. Bed was comfortable, A/C and showers worked well. It was quiet. TV was good. Did not have breakfast. Negative: Wifi went out frequently. That is a big disappointment for us. This is an older hotel, but has been updated nicely. Some reviewers raised concern about others in the hotel, but we had no problem, and there was no great marajuana smell. Negative: ""

It saddens me to leave this review, but I'm just being honest. The only good things about this hotel were the comfortable beds, the friendly staff and the outside of the hotel was well kept. The hotel has the potential to be a very nice place, if they would fix the majority of the following issues.... We were in room #103 and the air conditioner took several hours to cool down the room, just so that it was bearable. The lobby and hallways of the hotel do not feel like they are air conditioned, at all. The bathroom door was difficult to close, all the way. There was black mold next to the toilet. Upon entering the room it smelt very musty. The batteries in the remote control were so weak that you had to stand next to the TV to allow them to work. Also, the milk, at breakfast, was soured and the coffee was awful. Not to mention, the walls are super thin. My relatives, who were in room #123 were able to hear the people in the next room arguing, just as if they were in their room fighting.

First of all this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at nobody should ever book this place, the floor is insanely dirty you walk around barefoot and your feet are filthy, they lie about saying there’s free breakfast in the morning, barely have any place to throw away our trash so it’s just been sitting, sleeping in the beds is extremely uncomfortable the blankets provided are legit bed sheets

The new owners are not customer friendly they change the rates day by day we checked in end of February and stayed till the middle of July go to another hotel spend your money they took the breakfast away and there used to be a pool not anymore

No breakfast only coffee. Overpriced for the lack of amenities. Checked in on a Saturday night and was convinced it was a party spot. If you are in desperate need for a place it’s ok but look elsewhere first.

Not nice hotel according the Price we paid rooms are disgusting windows are filthy toilets are blocked no kettle no water bottles have to pay $2 for small bottles no fan Aircon was making so much noise could not sleep carpet is dirty I would not Recommended this place

Stayed here over the past year on and off to try and save a dollar.I travel for a living and have for 21 years. This is by far the worst hotel in desoto county. Filth is and understatement and the Manager is just as nasty. They complained about our pet barking even though we paid a pet deposit then manager threaten to call the pound on our Pup and refund another guest's money off my company credit card. Come to hotel to get our pet which wasn't barking and asleep. Tried to check out a day early and was met with no refund. After being told by the manager they were going to refund someone else's money on my company credit card we had to resort to the police dept. Still didn't get our refund (which doesn't matter at this point) we just wanted out of that place. This all falls on the heels of homeless sleeping in their parking lot,my wife being accosted by a African American Man (said he had the jerk if she didn't have a man with her) unacceptable,all hours of the night people fighting in their rooms sounding like a heard of elephants,parking lot full of dope heads all hours of the night. Needless to say we will spend twice as much for peace of mind. I'm embarrassed to even say I'm from here. Do not stay go else where trust me. Unless you're into hard drugs that is and apparently the police are aware of the drug use and says the owners are harder to deal with than the dope heads.
