Home2 Suites by Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Downtown - Hotel in Fort Lauderdale - 315 NW 1st Ave, USA

My family and I travel to Colombia once a year to visit family. We fly through Fort Lauderdale from Denver and it is very difficult to make a connection as the airport is very outdated and making it through customs is generally over an hour and a half every time. So we stay in a hotel for the night before making our way home. This time we chose Home 2. I was mostly impressed by Kelly at the front desk who was very accommodating and very gracious. I felt like our room could have been more tidy especially the bathroom. The breakfast was decent and the pool and gym were both decent. The location is great as there are quality restaurants and nice museums within walking distance. Overall my biggest gripe is that the bathroom should have been cleaned deeper but the best part was Kelly at the front desk who was very professional. I would recommend the hotel to business people and families alike.

Housekeeping could do a better job. The cleanliness was not up to expectations especially for a Hilton hotel, the bathroom and carpet was also not clean. They need to do a routine shampoo of carpet and routine plaster and caulking of shower base boards, and they need to do a routine cleaning of shower, caked up dirt and stain on shower floor or install shower floor mats. The wallpaper is also coming out in bathroom. Bed comforter should be bleached and cleaned properly. Bed comforters not cleaned properly. Also need to hire a Dog Hotel Cleaning specialist, because they allow dogs. But the refrigerator and breakfast was nice.

My stay was for the evenings of 1/16/24 and 1/17/24. Below are a few details of my stay. *The water at the hotel was discolored like that of a third world country. When I asked the lady at the service desk about it. She stated that's just Broward County water district. Then get a filtration system. The attached photos do not accurately depict the true murkiness of the water. *No hot water the morning of check out *The parking garage is nearly impossible if you have a larger vehicle. *Room service is only offered every other night. They should allow the customer to decide what services they need. *Shower Soap dispenser was empty on arrival. Glad I packed my own. *Bathroom cleanliness is not what I would expect of a Hilton property. I just wanted to offer a glimpse of what you will be in for at this Hilton property. Great rooms. Workout room was spacious and had a lot of new equipment. Within walking distance to restaurants. The only downside is the hotel bar/outdoor patio closed at 9pm each night due to noise.

If you value your time and want to check-in on time avoid this location. 2hr45min to get checked in room. Hanging out in lobby with my family. Room wasn't clean at all with broken items. Shower wasn't clean at all. Took 1hr45min to get sheets for pull-out couch that would be 'right up'. Hotel not up to Hilton standards. Location is great though so there is that.

I was delayed in Texas prior arriving to check in at the hotel. The system had huge glitches and issues online, which the staff Marlin, Kenya Shazad, and Kelly went above and beyond. When this first jumped off Marlin and security made sure I had space in the garage parking decal instead of across the street, and he rest assured that his manger Matthew Harrison will take care of the online concerns. The customer service provided by Matthew and his staff was beyond FIVE STARS, I had two rooms and I have yet to find one issue either one of these rooms. My stay deserved more than Five Stars, I loved the customer service friendly experience, clean atmosphere of Tru and Home2 Suites, and the staff made it feel like being at HOME.

The staff from the front desk to the breakfast attendants were phenomenal. The customer service here is one of the best we have dealt with. Rooms were clean, location was convenient and breakfast was constantly being restocked. Great stay.

The hotel was clean, the staff was very nice. The reason for my 3 stars and parking. We stayed for 2 nights. There is a parking garage attached to the building which we used. Upon check in the gentleman checking us in asked where we parked and we told him at which point he said to get a hang tag from the young lady outside. In day 2 of our trip we were having breakfast with some friends and they mentioned that there was a $30/day fee to park in the garage. Imagine our surprise because that was never told to us durning check in. I immediately went to the front desk to inquire and was told there was a $30/ day fee to park. I expressed by dissatisfaction as that is something that should be stated at check in. I was told well it’s on the website. I explained I didn’t see anything about parking and that I booked through a third party site and again was told it’s on all sites. My husband tried to play devils advocate and check their website, nothing. We checked the third party site we used and it was buried in small text where we would’ve never thunk to look. I gave a 3 star instead of one star because the gentleman I spoke with refunded us 1 day of parking and we paid for a day. I still don’t feel that was fair because there was a parking lot right across the street and I feel that the option was taken away from us. Furthermore, they had signs up to inform about breakfast and other happenings on the property but can’t bother to put up signs to inform customers of parking fees? None at the front desk or in the garage. I’d definitely think twice before staying there again.
