Home Away Inn and Suites - Featured Reviews (118)
After a long, long day of driving we stayed here, only reading reviews after we checked in. Given the low exchange rate for the Canadian dollar, we were pleased to find a motel within our budget. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The hotel looked ok from the outside with very nice landscaping. Yes, it is a budget hotel, but our room was very clean and looked newly painted, with laminate flooring. Unfortunately there were some very unsavoury characters that seemed to be living here and we were a bit uncomfortable with the area. We wouldn't stay here again but I hate to give a "Poor" rating when it is a family run business and they are probably working hard to make a living.
I would have given no stars, but the flooring was nice and the bed was pretty big. We had to switch rooms because the first one got a leak and ALL of our belongings got soaked. Got to the new room and had only freezing cold water. The managers were not very helpful, and were pretty rude when we brought up the issues. Needless to say, I did not stay there for the remainder of my trip. The only thing they were helpful with was giving me a refund for the nights I did not stay.
It's okay, if you have a small budget and don't care too mcuh for anything. The room was crooked, so the drawer of the dresser could not be closed permanently (opened aprox. 20cm), even if they already tried to fix it with some stuff under the dresser. It looked terrible. The room smelled badly and the outdoor hallway was very dirty. The room itself was also not cleaned. A previous guest left a smiley on the dirty mirror and the toilet seat was damaged. I still don't know if the shower courtain was dirty or patterned. The floor was dirty as well. It was sort of sticky.... It was kind of scary, that some men stood on the parking lot the whole night and the next morning. I prefer to not know, what was going on in this hotel. The service was ok.
The beds themselves are fine and clean. The fridge works. Everything else is a bit dirty and dusty. I would not walk around barefoot or touch too much. It's fine if you are sleeping one night and leaving right away.
Completely remodeled quiet comfortable especially the big beds. No more stragglers hanging around. I felt safe with my children and the staff is very personable and accommodating. Read all reviews starting this month you will love it here better than any motel in the area.
They stole their pen and paper from Comfort Inn. The soap and shampoo is the smallest amount l have ever seen a motel give. Sink has no hot water. Shower does but handle moves in and out of wall. Normal remote for TV plus. Better fridge than most. Nice reading sconces for bed. They make your bed, but they dont change sheets till you check out. Very good black out curtains.
I'm going to start with the pros, then move on to the cons. The flatscreen has Dish Network, which is a rarity in motels. The bed was suuuper comfortable, and very high up which I love. The blankets were thick and soft. The microwave and mini-fridge work. The desk is pretty huge and has a nice office chair. Upon walking into the room, we were greeted by an odd smell. We couldn't quite figure out what it was. It faded eventually, thank goodness. The deadbolt doesn't work, which made my niece and I very uncomfortable. It was LOUD. I understand they can't control the nearby train, but the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything. After several hours on the road, my first stop was the bathroom. We had half a roll of toilet paper, and ended up buying more at the nearby Walmart since the front desk people don't speak English. I was excited about the bath tub until I saw the wad of hair in it. That didn't matter anyway, as we had no towels. Too bad, since within ten minutes of kicking off my shoes, my feet were solid black from the floor. Even if the front desk people could speak enough English to communicate, there was no phone in the room to call the office and ask for towels or toilet paper. No way in hell are we walking down to the office late at night. I gave up on my plans for a soak in the tub and we decided to swim instead, but couldn't because the pool had no water!! Through all of this we stayed, because it was Memorial Day Weekend and everywhere else was booked. We woke up Sunday to someone pounding on our door and trying to open it. Terrified, I told my niece to pretend she was asleep and I had 911 dialed on my phone ready to call. Whoever it was gave up and wandered off. We proceeded to get ready for our day and left to attend a wedding. When we returned in the evening, we turned on the light and immediately saw a cockroach scurrying around the outside of a bag we had left on the dresser. We emptied all our luggage and went through everything, repacked and took everything to the car but our purses and cell phones so we could get the hell out first thing in the morning.
My opinion only: room is clean, staff is decent, room has microwave, small fridge, n sufficiently furnished. No hair dryer, only thing i dislike is the Wi-Fi is slow and the bed makes noise because of the frame it was on. Bed sits on a metal frame and when you move it makes a clinging sound
Food was GREAT! Dining here is like walking into your grandma's house (if she had a diner). The country gravy was perfection! Homemade biscuits added to the divinely flavored meal. Very friendly staff and patrons. If you're in town, Mom's Diner is th
Absolutely amazing a must visit. So much military history, if you want to learn more about past, present and future. This museum is absolutely necessary to explore. Nice size parking lot, study area, location near Beale AirForce Base.
I came for Taco Tuesday and was not disappointed. The meats (ground beef, chicken) were very well flavored and the service, provided by one who calls herself Milkshake, was excellent. Try the taco ramen!
Love everything about it. The building, the indoor atmosphere, the very nice lady providing service, and the food was really tasty. We ordered egg rolls, teriyaki chicken, Mongolian beef with yummy fried rice. The meat was the most tender and sauc
Went in for the Monday night pizza buffet. There was a decent crowd of people but not overly packed. They had four different pizzas to pick from: pepperoni, Hawaiian, all meat, and supreme, all of them were delicious! There breadsticks were definitel
This is the best Chinese food I have had in a long time. Real food! The egg foo Yung was so good and plentiful. We had the vegetable one, and it was loaded with veggies on top! Delicious food! Great food! Friendly service!
We love this place. Classic old style Chinese restaurant. Quiet no music. Our favorites are the Honey Walnut Shrimp and the birds nest. We also enjoy their pork buns. The shrimp always has a great flavor. Definitely recommend dine in to takeout. Serv
This location is the only one I will go to. It's high quality. They don't scrimp on ingredients like all the others Jimboys location. They will always have my business everything I pass through Marysville. Thank you for the great service.
My husband and I eat here at least once a week. The food is fresh and the broth in the soup is amazing!! When I'm feeling under the weather the Gang Ka Pa is the way to go!! The yellow chicken curry is my husband's favorite!! The spring rolls are re
