Holy Chow! - Kosher restaurant in Silver Spring - 1331 Lamberton Dr, USA

We just had the BEST Chinese meal from holy chow (to go)! The steamed veggie dumplings were huge! The egg drop soup delicious. The orange beef was a hit with my youngest - and the order was so large we all had some and have more for another meal. My chicken with veggies in garlic sauce was spicy and enjoyable. The vege egg rolls were a bit greasy for me, but my oldest loved it. And husband liked the sesame chicken. All in all, amazing! Especially for a really busy night. We’ll get this again soon bc it was so good!

The soup was excellent, the service was quick and friendly, the price for lunch special was reasonable. The fried rice was gross. The chicken with mixed vegetables was not very good because the chicken is not velveted well and the brown sauce doesn't taste so good. This place is Kosher, so I guess that might explain some of the differences. That is why I gave it an extra star. I strongly suggest that the Holy Chow staff go to Brother Chinese in Wheaton, order the same food, and compare the two. If any staff are non-kosher, they should do a taste test between how Chinese-American food generally tastes and how Holy Chow tastes. I really wanted to like this place.

Very impressed and happy with our order. We had an office business lunch and ordered 7 business specials. The online ordering was super user friendly, and the delivery was exactly on time. All items were thoughtfully marked with each person's name. They really went the extra mile. The food was hot, tasty and as described on their menu. I got chicken Singapore noodles, it had something in it I couldn't identify as chicken. The food was way over priced for what you get. My large looked like a medium compared to what I'm use to having a Chinese carryout. Speaking of being and advertising as the Best Chinese food in the DMV, there wasn't a Chinese in sight. The food taste like Indian version of curry.

I'd rate the food like a 4.3/10 I ordered the general chow chicken and the texture reminded me of soggy bread but only the slightest bit more firm, I also ordered white rice which felt mushy, the way rice would if it were overcooked, and lastly I ordered myself the egg drop soup which tasted kinda off from what I remember it tasting like. Not too impressed with Holy chow's food

No better falafel on earth! Perfectly cooked falafels with very crunchy crust and soft moist tasty interior. Real pickled red cabbage, grilled eggplant, hummus, tahini, onions and pickle nestled in a fresh warm pita. I want to rush back in and get another. I once stood in line for 40 minutes to get a very special falafel in Paris. I was sure I’d never have one better. Till now. Holy Chow is the new world champion of falafel. Amazing customer service, and they can make most dishes gluten free and use substitute ingredients!

Great service. Food was nice and hot. I will say the Singapore rice noodles were not the best. And really pricey compared to other restaurants. I’m not sure if they don’t offer it or if duck sauce/ soy sauce was forgotten to add to my order. If I decide to try them again, I’ll definitely go for another dish. Beef egg roll wasn’t bad but I really think the duck sauce would have added to it.
