Holt Bros BBQ - Barbecue restaurant in Florence - 2087 W Evans St, USA

First time here. Passing through town and ordered a take out tray. Meant to just "try" it in the parking lot... it didn't make it out of the parking lot and I ended up going back in to order bbq pints to take home. FOH staff were super sweet! I hope to dine in next time I'm in the area!

I went here for the first time and the last time. The girl at the counter was super nice and friendly. The atmosphere was fine, but the food is less than desirable. The prices were terrible ($22 for lunch for one person). I got the hamburger steak, they charge a dollar to add gravy! Even with gravy, it was very dry. The fried pickles were very, very salty and I could not eat them. This is a do-it-yourself restaurant. Besides them bringing your food out to your table at completely different times, you refill your own drink, get your own silverware, get your to-go boxes. Everything is set up at the counter for you to wait on yourself. But on top of all that, at least it looked clean. I do not recommend.

Walked in to a welcoming smile, when we said it was our 1st time her smile got even bigger. Asked what she recommended, brisket! Krystal thank you for all the help and fabulous customer service! Krystal made our 1st visit as good as the food!

This was the worst bbq I’ve ever had. The store was filthy. Tables were sticky and so was the floor. The meat was over cooked and DRY. Their bbq sauce is god AWEFUL. Vinegar based bbq sauce is so disgusting. My ribs were dry, hard and drenched in bbq sauce. The half chicken was dry and hard too. My wife got the brisket and it too was damn near floating in bbq sauce. We will never be back. Sadly we didn’t finish our food. We hated to waste it but we just couldn’t stomach this mess.

We were hungry and didnt take a photo before diving in. Delicious, juicy pulled pork pilled high. Fresh cut fries. Nice selection if sauces. Friendly service. Only thing I would have added was a good dill pickle.

Placed my order of wings and nothing else at the drive thru. Took a few minutes to get anyone to come out and when he did he took my card to pay. I waited 7 minutes and a girl came out, I thought she would have the food, but she handed my card back. She said nothing and I asked how long it would be and she said it would be a few minutes. I said I couldn’t wait, all she said was ok and walked back in. So, I paid for food I never got. I had somewhere to be, so I couldn’t wait. I use to love this place for a quick bite, last 2 times I got wings prior to this they were dry.

Not the cleanest place, BBQ was nasty. Soaked in vinegar and mushy. Would not recommend.

I would come back. We had the brisket tacos and the brisket sandwich with their fries. We would most definitely come back for the tacos; they were full of flavor. Their BBQ sauce is vinegar-based; you add your own. The coleslaw is vinegar based as well; very tart. If you like vinegar-based food, this place is for you. I wasn’t too crazy about the fries though. I am particular about my fries and these were over-done and bit soggy. I think the tots might be the better choice. Ultimately, I judge based on the mac’n’cheese. It was gooooood! It was full of flavor and very cheesy. I would definitely come back for the tacos and mac’n’cheese.
