This place is a gem if you need a clean, quiet place to stay. Off the bustle of the boardwalk, but still all the amenities of staying on the beach at a much affordable price. We spent an overnight to enjoy the beach, the nightlife, dining. Our room was "two peas in a pod" tucked away with a second floor view of the garden. The hookah lounge next door played nice soothing music to lull you to sleep. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The beds comfy with luscious linens. My only disappointment was no coffee maker in the room, so a head's up if you can bring your own. But...this made up get off our behinds to go out and catch the beautiful sunrise! Kudos to Lynn at the front desk for her congenial attitude. Oh, and you also get two free Margaritas from the Taco restaurant right next door. Yummy! We will definitely be staying here again!

My review is for 'Two Peas in a Pod' room, no sure if other rooms are the same or not. Good - location - beach and broadwalk, restaurants - everything is here. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Balcony is small, but still you can sit there and read, no table to have your coffee or glass of wine, but you can use it. Bad - small room, you cannot fully open refrigerator - for some reason, the door opens to the wall, so you can open maybe 1/3rd which is very inconvenient. No coffee maker. Bathroom - when you turn the lights on - there is very interesting noise, like in hunters house, not sure if it is OK. This sound might be good during Halloween times, but in January - I am not sure. Hotel provides beach towels (which is good) and beach chairs (none of them worked properly - maybe it is our bad luck, not sure). Will I stay again here? I will try my luck somewhere else for the same price. Having said that, we still had fun, we did not spend a lot of time in the room. Again, this review is only for the room I stayed. I see other people had better reviews, maybe they were staying in different rooms that are better than mine.

Hi- We are commenting on our stay at the Hollywood Beach Suites and Hotel at zip 33019 in Hollywood Florida for my wife's birthday from Jan 21st to Jan 24th. The front desk and staff were very friendly, but we are not content with a few things during our stay. ||We noticed a very unpleasant and unfair change in the parking. $30.25 per day is very excessive. ||One chair in the room was broken, and both are very uncomfortable. The bedding was showing signs of age, and should have been replaced. The channels on the TV were very limited, with most of the satellite channels not available. We do understand that the walls are very thin and we can easily hear our neighbors. We do admit that our affordable rate does allow some considerations for our concerns!||In addition, if we pay the 24 hour parking fee, and choose to leave to go for a drive, we run the risk of losing our payment WITHOUT A REFUND if all of the spaces are rented upon our return!!! (The front desk informed us that the city has taken over the parking and was beyond the control of the hotel.) ||We feel The South Beach Hotel Group holds a huge footprint in Florida, and has made a greedy mistake by trying to make us believe that they were forced to sell their parking spaces that are on their property to the city. Last year we were given a parking pass. We would not mind paying for a parking spot ($30 is a little high), but truly resent the NO REFUND side of this parking policy.||These considerations are extremely disturbing to us, and as a result we will reconsider our annual visit to Hollywood Beach and your Hotel to be no longer a priority.

A private twin ensuite was a 2 bedroom apt for $89/night! There was a cute hostel cat! He alone is 10/10. Weekday parking was $30/night (we did 9 hours for $22.50). Tip: there's a free margarita from 5-6pm.

This cute little place more than exceeded our expectations. The staff is very nice, including Lynn who checked us in. Being pet friendly and not charging a huge fee to bring them is also such a plus. Rooms look exactly like the pictures and we will definitely be back!

Online photos extremely deceiving. Some rooms may be better than the one we had. Ours felt like a cave. Low ceilings and NO windows! Floors extremely tilted, just really poor condition. The shower leaked so bad that it flooded the bathroom. Not a single hook or towel bar to hang wet towels, no countertops in the bathroom at all. Parking is $30 per night. TV’s didn’t work. Sheets on one bed were dirty and full of hair! Staff didn’t seem to care when I told them the next morning. We were told the price was 110.00 but was charged 180.00 after all the “fees”. We only stayed one day. Would never stay again

We had the 1 bedroom suite and it was clean and looked just like the pictures on the website. We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday and Jessica did an amazing job! We are so close to the beach , there are many stores and restaurants near by.

The 1 star is based solely on my room. Based on what I saw if I'd been given a room as depicted I would probably not been reviewing at all and got what I expected (solid 3 star). The pics are a few years old but a few of the rooms are as advertised.| IF YOU GET a room in a multi-story unit check the Hollywood city website. They have a violation for renting a private residence and I just filed a 2nd. They applied to change the use and did most of the work but never passed inspection (and probably wouldn't-at least my room). They have been renting rooms in a building that's still zoned a private residence.||Good things about the property-||The mattress was comfortable||It's close to the beach but at night a bit deserted for part of the walk back||Don't have to stay there to eat at the TACO SHACK-I'd give that a 4 STAR! Good atmosphere, A bit short staffed but decent service. Only reason it wasn't a 5 was the beef was cold but with so much flavor I didn't complain.||SOME of my issues||I was happy when we got there early they had a room! I couldn't find a thermostat though and the room was freezing. I went to the desk (another guest was there) and they told me the front desk controlled the thermostat in that building. The other guest knew the room # and said she'd just been moved because she couldn't handle how cold it was either. They had no other rooms so told me to block the vent (right above the bed) and they turned it down some. Problem was in the middle of the night you can't call the desk but have to walk down there to change the thermostat, I felt like it was up and down the whole 3 days based on each guest's preference. Phones only go to reservations off site. So when I was freezing (no extra blankets) I got up and put on my winter jacket for the rest of the night to sleep rather than dress and walk down to the desk at 1am. It was up and down for 3 days and one reason we only slept there. If It would have been refundable I'd have moved but wasn't a good time with just buying a house to waste $422+.||They tried to find me the first morning to find out why I didn't check out? I'd paid for 3 nights was why so I wasn't supposed to check out. They charge $15 resort fee per day for amenities but other than the distance to beach there aren't any amenities, especially for that building? I was told it was for the beach towels (they had some) and beach chairs (I went 2-3 times a day as they told me to check back, then said people must be keeping them in the rooms). I got madder every time I went down there.||I also complained about the room. The clean sheets (but not the blanket) and the comfy mattress were the only good things about the room. There were no dressers or place to put out anything like toiletries in the bedroom or bath. We sat in front of the mirror on a towel on the floor to do our hair and make-up. The toilet paper holder was hanging and the paper on the floor. There was NO GARBAGE CAN. Slippery tile floor with no bath rug or mat. The floor was uneven between the room and bath with no transition. The bedside tables were about 12" round with barely room for the tv remote. The floors were sandy and sticky and that's where I set my purse, phone, bottled water and book. THE HEADBOARD was peeling badly. In the morning I woke with pieces of plastic (vinyl?) stuck to my face and arm and in my hair. The curtains weren't fully hung, dingy and dusty. Cleanliness I'd give it a 2 overall. There's a good place to hide on the lower level behind the stairs and the street access door in the lower level where it would be possible to have someone ambush you if they wanted (they said they have off site cameras that are monitored, the ones in the office were behind the desk clerk). Anyone could walk in off the street and drag you into your room in my opinion. The peephole was so high I couldn't see out of it and I'm 5ft 5". There's no chain so I could chain it and open to see who is there so I didn't answer when someone knocked. It wasn't my top complaint but I did feel a little uncomfortable two women alone down there. I think there was another guest across the hall the last night.||At least 2x of the now 6x I've been to the desk about the room temp and the beach chairs (at which time I mentioned my displeasure about the room so each time I was there I complained about multiple things). I have never felt more like a "karen" in my life, especially later when the manager used his active imagination to make every complaint seem exaggerated. There was a male employee there at least 2x when they told me to talk to the manager he just stood there. I didn't find out until the 3rd day that was the manager. I have to sign up for these review websites as I've never filed a review or complaint in my life and I was uncomfortable doing so!||The overhead lights were bright and the dim lights were directly over the head of the bed. Not wanting to wake me my daughter used her phone to go to the bathroom and got her toe good on the uneven tile. Lifted her toe nail some.||Saturday I had a shower (it was cold water in a cold room and trickling). Soap in my eyes I reach for the shelf with the conditioner and it FALLS OFF THE WALL!! I only have a video and it won't attach to this review but it slid right out! Hits my knee where I have a small bump that's not going down still and then lands on the top of my foot. It was slid into the brackets and not secure.||I called the 3rd party app I booked thru and listed my complaints since talking to the desk accomplished nothing but blank stares and recommendations to talk to the manager. They called the manager and called me and said the manager was FINALLY IN. Same guy who had been there earlier on his laptop to my surprise.||This manager was madder that I had pictures of other rooms and that my complaints made his employee's uncomfortable. He wasn't happy I called the 3rd party vendor either. That could have been dealt with if he'd have identified himself before and I didn't know as a guest it was my job to make his employee's comfortable. Then he ACCUSED me of going around knocking on doors and bothering other guests!! What ACTUALLY happened was because I had a sore knee and foot walking the boardwalk was out. They suggested renting some since theirs were in use but even that walk was too far. I sat on the bench and sand at the end of the block and as a salesperson struck up some small talk with others. A lady from Michigan had the room that is in the pictures. Her only complaint (and she invited me to her room and showed me) was the toilet was so close to the wall that you can't sit facing forward on it. She had to sit sideways. And she was about 5 ft 3". The rest of the room was decent. A bit older than the pics but accurate. Another couple I talked to said their room was as pictured but right behind the restaurant and a bit noisy at night. So that's what I meant about how many stars based on what room you get.||I probably wouldn't have searched the city website if the manager hadn't made accusations and been such a non-people person! Knows he can get away with it since it is impossible to reach anyone from corporate. All phones lead to reservations! And he could have calmed me if he'd have told me about the free drinks we were supposed to get and were never told about and sent me to the restaurant while they fixed the shower (they caulked it so it wouldn't slide out) instead of standing in the room while listening to him tell me I shouldn't have pulled on the shelf and should have held myself up with the handicap bar like I'm stupid and did it on purpose, maybe brought a table so I didn't have to put things on the floor, a lamp and a garbage can for the bathroom, kept the air reasonable so I wasn't colder in the room than I was in Michigan (68 maybe 70 since we were in the "basement"). Fixing some of my issues and an apology or explanation about why they were renting a private residence I might have been unhappy but shut up. Making me feel like I'm a trouble maker for asking for what was advertised wasn't the way to calm me down. He stood in the room and took every complaint and made it my fault. I think he's used to trying to intimidate women or guests but that's just my opinion. I owned an insurance agency and specialized in contractors insurance. I know about zoning and construction codes and knew no way that it had passed inspection or should have a cert of occupancy and when I got home I found out I was right. That building is not zoned to rent to guests. ||There were more issues and my trip to relax a bit before having to move was a bust. I'm now having to pack and move and I still have twinges in my foot and knee.||I also was looking forward to sitting in the lounge chairs outside the rooms and reading in the warm air (what I pictured when I booked the place) but this building only had one wicker chair with a cracked vinyl pad that scratched the back of my legs when I was wearing shorts. I even called to confirm the patio furniture and a 1 story building when I booked and was told by reservations that all the rooms were 1 story (they would be if they weren't renting rooms without an occupancy permit) and they all have lawn furniture. No beach chairs and no lawn furniture for our building, no safe, no i pad docking station, and I was able to get a Styrofoam cup of water from the office before bed. The office does not look like depicted either.||I have more but I'm sure you are tired of reading. So stay if your sure you are getting one of the rooms in the first 2 single story buildings closest to the office. Noisy if closest to the restaurant. Eat at the restaurant and you shouldn't be disappointed. And don't stay in the townhouse until you know it's been inspected for your safety. If they were careless with the bath shelf and are renting a room that's in that shape no telling if the electrical or plumbing is up to date. And being in the "basement" we tried to open the window to get some warmer air and couldn't get it open so not sure about egress other than trying to bust the window in an emergency.|
