Holly's Place - Featured Reviews (29)
We had a very pleasant weekend stay here. It’s tucked away in a quiet part of town, the outdoor common spaces are inviting, and the cabin rooms are very quaint. We especially enjoyed the micro kitchen so we could prepare our own dinners. Thanks for a lovely stay.
This place is very old, worn and not nice at all. It is placed in a backyard and totally overpriced. We checked out after 1 night planned to stay there for 4 night's, we contacted the owner by mail to get refund, but they didn’t even bother to answer us. So very unprofessional. We are on a road trip and have stayed in many different places but this is the worst we have ever experienced. 1 star is all they can get.
Stayed at Bear's Den. Cozy quiet quaint place to enjoy the weather. The cabin had a sink, microwave, hairdryer, dishes and cups too so it's very convenient.
My apologies this posting is months late. We stayed at Holly's over Christmas 2022. The compound is super awesome and in the future, we would invite friends and family. The mess hall is a great place to have those impromptu gatherings and the cabins offer quite a bit of privacy. Very peaceful. Lucky we didn't get snowed in. We had a clean, comfortable stay and the rustic decor made our weekend that much more memorable. We took a couple of walks to the lake for the breathtaking scenic outlook. You will need a car if you want to do the town scene, and the finer restaurants are not close to walking distance. Nice walk to the Safeway as long as you don't need to carry too much back. We would like to experience a stay in the summer, when outdoor cooking, gatherings and mother nature is abundant.
We loved our stay at Holly’s Place, where our dog could roam around freely. Surrounded by trees, it felt private though being in the middle of the town and next to sports fields. We enjoyed nights by the gas fire. Strangely we saw NO ONE else (including staff) until our last day, likely due to it being midweek (and phone numbers were provided if we had needed anything). Bed in Bears Den was a bit hard. The space was small but comfortable for 2 plus our dog. Bathroom fan was way too loud (turning on light meant turning on fan), and I would have preferred less fragrance in the sheets. Great place for a family or group gathering.
I loved my stay at Holly's Place! while I didn't bring a dog, it is totally pet friendly. The beautiful lake is literally within walking distance. Our little cabin was so cozy and comfortable. We went with a large group of people and hanging out in the rec room was definitely my favorite part of our time at Holly's Place. The full kitchen made our lives so easy when we wanted to cook and the fireplace outside made for a very relaxing time outdoors. Highly recommend this beautiful place. Can't wait to come back!
We loved this place. We stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin. It's very quiet here and quaint. We absolutely loved that it's dog friendly. Our black lab loves the snow. The owners are very quick to respond if you have any questions. If your looking for something that has a more local feel rather than a touristy hotel/motel, then this is the place. We would definitely come back again. Thanks Holly's Place!
Stayed here in Summer 2015 while visiting South Lake Tahoe. Had a great time. And it was a great place to stay with my dog.||||Property was completely fenced in, so my dog could run off-leash and play with the other dogs.||||Met some friends there so had a community BBQ. When I went, there was a large kitchen and a large living room where people could get-together and watch TV or do karaoke. But there were plans in place to re-do this area.||||My dog had a great time and I was able to relax, knowing that she was able to play in a safe place.

The place is really nice, the water is crystal clear but very cold. It's worth it to pay the $5.00 fee to see this beautiful place. In the middle of it there's an old house, scary but beautiful.
Went with my daughter and husband and came from the heavenly line since the wait at the resort was 2 hours! They helped us right away and we were able to get all the equipment we needed in a reasonable time frame. The staff are super friendly and acc
Beautiful hike to Eagle Lake that took about 30 min after the bridge. This time of year there was snow and ice on the trail that made it slippery but was worth the quick trip up and back.
Took this trail to go to Cascade Falls. It's flat for the first 5 mins or so and then becomes rocky and risky at the corners.
There is some construction work going on in the area so they have put up temporary boards marking the trail. Good job!
