Holly Hill Family YMCA - Community center in Holly Hill - 1046 Daytona Ave, USA

Me and Son went to see about the Open Gym (Basketball) on Tuesdays & Thursdays for this location and the older lady with dark brown hair in a pony tail who was working at the front desk this morning was NOT welcoming at all. She acted more like she was afraid of us and didn't want to assist us with this information, so I had to explain to her that I received an email about it and I'm inquiring on how I can get my Son signed up (fees, age requirement, etc) she pretty much didn't know about the fee but she was very quick to say "Well, you have to be 18..." and I said okay??...thanks. But it doesn't mention age at all, so that would be something that the YMCA should provide when they are sending out their brochures via email. I normally don't care to come to this location even though it's close to where I reside because the staff at times can be quite rude, dismissive and act like they don't care to be there or just nice to a certain group of people. My Son and I will continue to go to the Port Orange location instead.

Was not happy today! I do not like my child being called monkeys by other children in the YMC.

I’ve paid for 24 hr access and have yet to be able to access the building. Gotten new key fabs and still haven’t been able to get in. Even got transferred to port orange and still wasted gas going somewhere that I can not get into. Why have 24 hr access but no employees working to help with this issue. I’ve left messages and no response. I just want my money back at this point.. I’ll find another gym

Very friendly and helpful staff and although this is a much smaller facility than the other YMCAs we are used to, it's a very welcoming environment and they have a lot to offer!

Why are people from one month ago saying this YMCA is closed/gone? I just worked out there today. The pool was nice and warm, there was two life guards there. They are ultra busy from the time they open until around 9:30 in the morning. So, I always go between noon and 5pm, when it’s nice and quiet. Today, I went from 3pm until 4:30pm. There were plenty of people on staff for a quiet Wednesday afternoon. They have a summer kids thing going on in the basketball room. They asked me to use a different bathroom to change and shower since kids were using the main one. As a father of four, i appreciated that they wanna keep random adults in a separate bathroom from the one they have kids using during their summer program. I gave it four out of five stars because they don’t have all the amenities of the big YMCA in Ormond. Ormond Beach has staff that can watch your baby (as young as six weeks old) up to ten years old while you work out. Ormond Y also has a lot more programs, staff, and workout gear. But this Holly Hill location is two blocks from home and works great for hitting the gym or a swim in a quiet facility. Again, by “quiet” i mean if you avoid that morning crowd. Seriously, if you show up at, say, 8:30, good luck finding a parking spot or a free rowing machine, elliptical, treadmill, etc. They are CRANKING in the mornings.

Clean and very nice staff. Pool is clean and lifeguards pay attention to swimmers. Some of the gym equipment is new and some needs updating.

Switched from 5 stars to 1, simply because the staff is untrained. They have no idea how to enter people into the system, and they also have no idea how to cancel a membership. This is NOT their fault though. It’s whoever is training them not doing their job. Is there management here? Who’s in control? It seems to me that the facility is only monitored by one staff member, and that staff member hasn’t even been properly trained. YMCA is a big enough corporation have a little bit higher of a standard than that. It’s really sad when the employees don’t even know what they’re doing because they weren’t trained!!!! I feel bad for them!
