Holiday Inn St. Petersburg N- Clearwater, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Clearwater - 3535 Ulmerton Rd, USA

Positive: It's very safe in a great location. The staff from the check in process to having food in the sports bar are just overall wonderful. Hands down one of the best little gems in the area. Rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Negative: Pool should be open late for guests.

Stayed here for 10 days in May. Called the property before my arrival to ask for ground floor because I have mobility issues but I don’t like taking an accessibility room because others need it more than me. Sara was super polite and helpful. And I will say everyone I spoke with during my stay on staff were polite and helpful. The location is great. It’s near an airport but I never heard an airplane. I felt safe at all times. The areas was a decent area. The room has an odor upon entering. It kind of smelled like it used to be a smoking room years ago and perhaps they just couldn’t get that old for out. But, after staying there for 10 days I was able to further trace the odor. It came from the black out curtains on the windows. And I do think it’s from old smoking days. When the sun would rise high enough in the day to bear down on that window it would heat that curtain up and it would fill the room with that odor. However once the sun went down the odor would leave and not be an issue after sundown and through the night. The security latch inside has the screws stripped out. Out of 4 screws only one was really holding. The other three are just there and they will slip in and out of the holes by just pulling on them so this wouldn’t stop anyone from opening the door. This is separate from the actual door lock and the deadbolt. The both worked fine. Pictures are attacked of the security latch. For the price this room was great. I was pleased with my stay here despite the couple of issues. And I will stay here again in the future.

Pros: Judy at the front desk was more than hospitable and made my stay inviting! The guy there was very accommodating and super nice about me requesting to change rooms because there was a dog next door that wouldn’t stop barking. The lobby is nice! Cons: this hotel has so much potential if the effort was made. The rooms smell very moldy and musty and it gets super moist in the room at night time even when the ac is on. The first floor hallway has an unpleasant smell. I think the hotel needs a major renovation, the rooms are very outdated.

Had to stay overnight for a work thing but was able to get to the beach, about 20 min away before going home and it was a great area with nice sand and clean water. The hotel doesn't offer a continental breakfast but instead has a sit down restaurant (overpriced IMO) but I really enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. It was clean and the water temps were good as well as clean outdoor bathroom and having plenty of seating to enjoy the evening air or relaxing in the sun. Rooms were a good size and have a desk by the window which I was able to enjoy but the water pressure was terrible and it took so long to shampoo my hair. Basically had to stand there double the time waiting for the water to rinse it all out of my hair!

The staff here was amazing and the hotel is so pet friendly .. she even got a welcome bag and the front desk took extra time to pick a toy she would like 🥺 That made our entire stay The rooms are older and feel damp; but they are doing construction which hopefully helps . So close to the airport which is what we needed

First, I am a Platinum Member so I frequent IHG hotels quite often. This one is about mid grade at best due to being outdated. They are upgrading though. Rooms are musty and have that damp feeling... but that isn't enough to really complain about. No bugs in my room, nor did I see any in the hotel. Staff is great! Two things that I will complain about... I stayed here for the shuttle to airport (PIE: literally next to hotel)... shuttle to airport fine. Get back at 2pm 3 days later and was told they didn't have a shuttle until 4pm (I was told that when I return to just call & they would send someone). It cost me 20.00 to get a taxi !! Next...I order doordash to have them deliver my food to me, in my room. That's partly why I tip them! The front desk refused them to bring my food to my room! This made me get out of my comfy clothes, get into public acceptable clothes, and have to go to the lobby to get my food is the worst part of my stay! I am not lazy... but if I wanted to get up and get dressed I would have went to get my own food. Lol!

Had to move rooms three times. Room 1 toilet was broke. Room 2 neighbors room was loud and crazy. Room 3 tv did not work. Property was not very clean and rooms were not as clean as most holiday inn express. Needs updating. Price was high 242 a night but it was during March 23, 2024 but other hotels offered more.we only were staying 1 night until our other hotel room was available. Front desk employees were great, that was a plus. Overall I would not stay again. Look for a better deal and room.

Close to the airport, they provide a shuttle. Staff was very friendly. Nice bar/restaurant. Older hotel in the process of updating.
