Holiday Inn Resort Lake George - Adirondack Area, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (905)
If you are coming to Lake George and you are looking for a place to stay, this is the place! I am the type of person that takes days of research before booking a hotel. There were so many recommendations of places to stay for our vacation up here. But even the places that were recommended by many had some reviews about rooms that smelled like mold or poor housekeeping and hair in bathrooms etc. I am so happy we booked this hotel. As everyone else says in their reviews there is so much to do right on the property. There is an indoor and outdoor pool. Basketball courts, little mini golf, huge chess board, small arcade area, activities for the kids all day like making tye dye shirts and things you'd do at a resort. Yesterday they had a manager's reception in the lobby with All kinds of free snacks and free alcohol. The hotel is walking distance from the start of the strip. So you are close enough to all the excitement without having rowdy people walking past your hotel at 2 AM yelling. And the view is absolutely gorgeous. If you can, book a room with a balcony. You won't be sorry!
I can't say enough good things about this resort! We went as a family- me, my husband, and our 22 month old! It was perfect! The location was perfect- about a 10-15 min walk into town, or a 3 minute drive. The resort was clean-- room was clean and nice. The kiddie pool was the legit BEST!!!!! Our son loved it he did not want to get out! The playground with the rolly slide was perfect! They had great activities and events for kids. The breakfast buffet was affordable and delicious. Parking free. Staff kind and attentive. I can't recommend it enough!
My family and I had a wonderful experience here. Rooms were very clean, service was exceptional and staff was beyond friendly. We were greeted by everyone we walked by, the cleaning staff and the maintenance man was the nicest person, always stopped to talk to us. I absolutely loved the activities offered for the children . I had a 4, 5 and 8 year old with me and they all enjoyed the activities offered. One particular employee I would like to commend is Amy. She conducted all the kids activities on Wed. and Thurs. and she was an absolute sweetheart. My kids definitely enjoyed their stay. In their words, “it was the best vacation ever.” We will definitely return.
My highlight was the omelette station every morning at breakfast. Chef was kind and made a great omelette .
Thank you and see you soon.
My family and I have stayed at this hotel several years in a row and it never disappoints. It is clean and well maintained. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The grounds are great for kids! There’s a nice putting green, playground, and basketball court. The pool is beautiful and the indoor pool is one of the best I have seen. We will be back again next year!
Check in is at 4pm, we got there a little bit after and they had to make sure the room was ready. The lady at the front desk is really nice, the young man next to her seemed to be annoyed that he had to be there. Perhaps he was just having a rough day. The website states free coffee/tea in the lobby and most Holiday Inn's do offer this except for this location. You are told to ask the restaurant next door for coffee which we didn't do because I was afraid they would charge us and it'd be an awkward mess. There's also no free breakfast at this location.||The warm cookies upon check in are a nice touch. The room had no view (wasn't worth paying over $50+ more for a balcony facing the outdoor pool). The room was fine, bed was okay. The tiny Dove soap was incredibly cute and it's nice having a dim nightlight in the bathroom. If you're used to more light, I suggest bringing your own nightlight.||There are no signs to tell you where the indoor pool is. There is a very tiny golf area (more for the kids) and a place where the hot tub is. The indoor pool requires you to go outside. Not sure how well this works in the freezing winter months for guests. They have a sauna which really brings you back to how hotels used to be. We enjoyed it. There's also a few arcade games for kids to play.||We didn't have time to swim in the outdoor pool but there was plenty of places to sit outside. Overall, we gave this place a chance because they do such a lovely job each Christmas.
We stayed here over Labor Day weekend and everything was fabulous! The hotel is very clean and the staff is super friendly. The views from the hotel are beautiful and there was so much to do on the property. It’s really close to the attractions - we walked to the Lake a few times. All around solid choice!
We booked this hotel as part of our anniversary week. The associate at the front desk was personable and took extra time explaining about the hotel and Lake George attractions. We were assigned a two queen bed room, however it was a connecting room and those can be noisy. I was given a King bed room which was spacious and very clean. It was on the first floor and was very quiet. The room had a large TV, nice bathroom, keurig coffee maker and a safe. The hotel was well located and we visited Lake George Village and the Outlet stores. We also took a 2.5 hour boat ride with the Steamship Company and found that delightful. We had breakfast each day at the hotel. It was a buffet with an omelet station and a very nice spread of breads, bagels, pancakes and fruit. The hotel was extremely clean and we enthusiastically recommend it
It is obvious that the workers take pride in providing the best experience to the guests. Housekeeping is very friendly and attentive. Rooms are well-maintained, and there are many amenities that are always in good working order. This is by far my favorite hotel and location. This could be considered an expensive location, but I feel the prices are fair.
There are so many things to do on site as well as things to do within walking distance that makes this a must visit and annual vacation spot.

My wife and I stayed there last week for 2 days. Could not ask for a nicer hotel, clean, well maintained, All 3 shifts in the front office would go out of there way to accommodate us. And the breakfast buffet was well maintained. Great value for the
