Holiday Inn Lafayette-City Centre, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Lafayette - 515 South St, USA

I am appalled by my recent stay at the Holiday Inn in Lafayette, Indiana. The room was beyond filthy, reeking of a nauseating combination of cheese and mildew. The sheets were clearly not changed, and the overall state of the room was unacceptable for any standard of cleanliness. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk manager, Trey, his response was nothing short of arrogant and dismissive. His refusal to accommodate my request for a clean room or a room change is a testament to the hotel's complete disregard for customer satisfaction. To add insult to injury, the hotel had egregiously inflated their rates, taking advantage of families moving students into Purdue. This is predatory pricing at its worst. I witnessed multiple other guests complaining about similar issues, from missing towels to incorrect room accommodations. It's clear that this hotel has serious management and cleanliness problems. I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to reconsider. This is not a place where you will find a clean, comfortable, or respectful experience. Avoid this hotel at all costs!

This was my third stay in this hotel over three years. All three times, the hotel has been very dirty. You can see the attached pictures - this is not a matter of needing to resurface the showers, as management claimed in a really to another reviewer. This is just a lack of cleanliness -- mold is growing in the shower and around the bathroom fixtures. I left a review about cleanliness on my previous stay and was contacted by management who told me that they had an issue with turnover in the cleaning staff. That was last year, and during this most recent stay last week, the room was even worse. This is unfortunate, because this hotel has the best location in Lafayette for access to downtown, and is in a good location for a short drive to campus. I had hoped that the issues were being addressed, but they are not and management is making excuses in response to reviews. One more small piece of information. I stayed here in 2020 during a weekend when the hotel was fully booked, and although the room that I had reserved was available, they had run out of blankets and did not have a blanket for the bed. They gave me a stack of ~10 bedsheets to keep warm at night. EDIT: Please know that the property manager's reply to this review is not true. This is a cleaning issue. You can wipe the mold off the shower and sink fixtures. It is not a resurfacing issue.

We stayed at this hotel for five days as a large group, split into three rooms (526, 426, and 326). While the overall experience was manageable, there were a few notable issues that impacted our stay. The showers in all three rooms were in poor condition. The shower floors were rough and appeared to be in the middle of resurfacing, with peeling and unfinished surfaces. This made the showers uncomfortable to use and gave a neglected feel to the semi-finished bathrooms. Despite this, there was no working crew either on-site or contractor in sight addressing these issues, and we weren't notified about any ongoing renovations. Aside from the shower situation, the rooms were generally clean, and the beds were reasonably comfortable. However, we did encounter some inconveniences during our stay. At times, there was not enough parking available in the hotel lot, forcing us to park on the street, which was less secure and inconvenient. The hotel did not offer complimentary breakfast, so we ate at local diners. The hotel’s location was convenient for accessing nearby attractions and dining options. We used the small workout room a few times, which was a nice feature. It was equipped adequately and had water available for guests, which we appreciated. Overall, I would only recommend this hotel for a very short stay, given the shower issues and parking challenges. For longer stays, it might be worth looking at other options.

Worst experience, won’t recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. Mattresses are old and uncomfortable, you will get backache. Showers are old and chipped. Customer service is horrible, front desk is rude (Trey, Paul to name few) doesn’t care about any of your concerns, blame to upper management for any issues, and suggest customers have common complaints about quality and service of this hotel and they don’t care. They say it is what it is and they just take advantage of the location and charge high prices due to demand and supply issues in the area. No maintenance staff available on Sunday so if you have blocked toilet, good luck!

The building was pretty on the outside. The staff was helpful and remained respectful. However, the room was the worst. My room was beside the laundry room. There were ants coming into my room. The bath was old and had rust. The shower knob was old. The hot gave cold and cold gave hot water. I scorched me the first night. I explained that to them. They charged too much money. I stayed there for my Master's graduation from Purdue University, and I spent 1332 for just 2 nights and a day. I explained that they are charging too much. I explained that this was not what was told to me originally. I paid part of my money, and I still can't get back my down payment.

The hotel location is great. The hotel staff seem ambivalent. The Front desk staff that we’ve seen so far don’t seem to really care whether you’re here or not or whether you stay or not. This is honestly the first IHG hotel we’ve stayed at in years where the hotel staff wasn’t warm and welcoming. The rooms are average and need upgrades. The toilet leaks and runs very slow. We really wanted to be near the downtown so this was our only IHG choice.

Positive: The location, very convenient to both Purdue and wonderful downtown Lafayette. Bed was comfortable. Negative: The air conditioner was loud when it kicked on, but not so bad that it prevented us from sleeping. For some reason the elevator wasn't working on our floor, 6th, but was accessible and could use from the lobby.

Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations.||||At check-in, the service was impersonal, and I received no orientation about the hotel’s amenities or services such as Wi-Fi and breakfast. The room itself had a noticeable odor, the bathtub was so outdated that it appeared dirty, and the toilet did not flush properly.||||Additionally, after checking out, I realized I had left my iPad mini in the room, specifically on the bed. However, when I called to inquire about it, I was told that it had not been found. Not found?! Really?! Try stolen… This is highly concerning and disappointing to think that it might not have been reported, and this incident reflects poorly on the hotel’s commitment to its guests.
