Holiday Inn Ft. Lauderdale-Airport - Hotel in Hollywood - 2905 Sheridan St, USA

This place is so charming! They were very busy and short staffed, but they were so extremely accommodating it than made up for it! We were happy to find that we could begin enjoying the amenities immediately, and didn't have to wait until check in. We got there around 10am after a cruise, and they held our luggage while we swam in their beautifully decorated oasis of a pool area. Unfortunately the pool bar was not open, and their restaurants weren't open on that Sunday either - but this was no problem for us. There's an exceptional coffee place right in front of the hotel and a McDonald's across the street, which was perfect for our overnight stay waiting for our flight. The area does have tons of interesting dining though if you'd be staying longer. The pool is warm and clean, and there are tons of wild iguanas all over the palm trees, adding to the enjoyable ambiance. The rooms were VERY spacious and comfortable. The showers were HUGE. The whole place may be slightly dated - but I would always prefer luxurious comfort and friendly service at a very reasonable price, regardless if the decor is on trend. They also have an airport shuttle that is ON TIME and FREE! 😁 I will definitely be staying here again whenever we cruise.

Not worth the price we paid. The best mattress ever. Slept like a baby despite tons of traffic. Rooms smelled and had no choice because we did not arrive until after 9pm. Staff was phenomenal they accommodated us by fixing us a delicious cheeseburger and fries. Next morning exceptional service by staff and meal was a 10. This places needs to be remodeled.

We arrived super early for our 3pm room booking. The hotel had been fully booked the night before; therefore, we had to wait till our room was cleaned but were given access by 11:30am. The staff was apologetic and super nice. Lobby was comfortable. Overall we loved our stay and will be returning.

Our trip started off well. The man checking us in was very kind and, despite security talking over him, he tried to focus on checking us in rather than the conversation with security. He was very polite and good at his job. It was downhill from there. We arrived quite late after a nighttime flight so we were tired and wanted to go to sleep. The bed was so uncomfortable - extremely hard and lumpy. So we called down to ask for two extra pillows. The lady was very rude about it and said “if you want pillows, you’ll need to come down and get them yourself” with a lot of attitude. So my husband trekked down at 1am. He inquired about a late checkout while down there as well and was told we could check out at noon. That was nice given we were so late arriving. The bathroom had mould on the floor and in the shower. But given we were only there the day, we just ignored it. The next morning housekeeping was banging at our door at 11am. It appears no one put the late checkout on our account (or they ignored it). The app wouldn’t let me check out. No big deal. We would just head down to the counter. When checking out the two girls at the counter continued their conversation with each other and ignored us. We stood awkwardly as we wanted to ask about leaving out luggage, and finally the one lady said “you can leave now”. I said “actually, I wanted to see if we could leave our luggage.” And she just said no and returned to her conversation. There was someone else at the counter who clearly felt awkward and quietly told us the luggage closet was full. So we lugged our luggage with us all day as a final sour note to the stay. I’m not sure if this is normal behaviour or we just caught them on a bad day, but it was a really sour start to our trip.

The overall ambience is always comfortable and inviting. There are some especially nice details during holiday and other occasions as well. The staff , especially the front desk staff, is very helpful, informative, and professional. The facilities and amenities in the rooms and around the building are of good quality. There are two separate dining areas with a simple and decent menu and good food, as well as a beautiful pool area. The hotel is also conveniently located with ease of access to and from surrounding locations.

This hotel is good value for the money. Close to the airport. Clean and comfortable. However, the hotel and rooms are showing their age. The on-site restaurant is exceptional. We weren’t expecting much from a hotel restaurant but the service and food was amazing! Very nice pool and front desk staff was very friendly. Despite being a bit run-down, I would still recommend this hotel for a quick stay.

My husband and I stayed here just one night - a stopover on our way elsewhere. It's a very nice place and I would recommend it, with a caveat or two. ||The room was clean and quite spacious and included a mini fridge & coffee maker. The bed was really comfortable. ||The pool area is very nice. The waterfall in the pool is a nice touch. There's plenty of seating (with some options for shade), and lots of palm trees and other topical plants. There's also a poolside bar - if you can catch it open. ||Marshall at the front desk was really friendly and helpful, and Robin -our shuttle driver from the airport - was too. ||There's not much nearby, so if you dont have a car, you're pretty much staying at the hotel (or taking Uber). The only food right by the place is a Dennys and a McDonalds -and a REALLY popular coffee shop. ||Our only issue was that we found out upon checking in that the restaurant and bar were closed for the day (New Year's Day). We looked at tons of hotels near the airport for our stopover, wanting 2 key amenities: An airport shuttle and a bar & restaurant. We didn't want to have to go out for dinner (esp without having a car) - just wanted to relax at the hotel. We chose this one because it had both - but so did plenty of others. I understand them wanting to give staff time off on NYD, but then please make it ABUNDANTLY clear when you're booking that those amenities will not be available! We could have made a different choice had we known. We walked a bit over a mile to get some food (it was a nice day and we're capable of the walk but..)

I STRONLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. I arrived at the Fort Lauderdale Airport and called at 4:30 for an airport shuttle. I was given directions on where to be picked up by the hotel staff. About six to seven calls and 4 hours later I was picked up with not even as much as am "I'm sorry". Of the two key cards given, one didn't work at all. Also, the breakfast was less than desirable and took over half an hour for a piece of toast and fruit. Not to mention you have to pay additional for the breakfast. Additionally, the price was astronomical on Friday night during the busy season. You will be doing yourself a favor if you spend your money elsewhere.
