Holiday Inn Express Winchester South Stephens City, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Stephens City - 165 Town Run Ln, USA

Although the staff was very helpful and friendly (especially the man preparing breakfast the mornings I was there), the hotel itself is a bit on the older side and a bit run down. The hallways and my room smelled musty, and my room also looked worn down: the carpets were a bit aged, the bathroom tile and molding was cracked and aged, and the TV was a bit dated and did not fully work. This is a decent hotel, but for the price per night, probably not worth it

Although the carpet and floors needed a good steam cleaning, the room was overall very nice. The bedding was nice, the pillows were comfortable. I appreciated, as well, that the checkout time was not until 12 noon. I had checked in late and needed to catch up on some sleep. What I regret doing was not putting the do not disturb sign on my door, because at 9:30 am I got a knock on my door from housekeeping. Well actually, I got a knock on the door and then the housekeeping person ran off leaving a restaurant worker to explain what was going on. I had wanted to get as much rest as possible before my lengthy drive that day, but that was needlessly interrupted by a housekeeping member whose presence then made me very uncomfortable that I needed to be leaving as soon as possible, so that they could clean my room. It would’ve been an OK visit, but that kind of messed up everything for my morning, to be honest. I would recommend travelers to spend $13 more and drive on into Winchester Virginia and stay at the beautiful George Washington Hotel. It’s luxurious, it’s historic, and you are treated respectfully. No passive aggressive behavior would be tolerated by their management. All it takes is one bad apple.

Very filthy hotel, short staffed, management is WORSE THAN WORSE. Management won't even acknowledge my issues, ignores all correspondence. Just horrible. Floors in lobby are filthy, walls and floor in elevatorare filthy, rooms are filthy, bedding was not changed. Gave me 2 rooms that weren't cleaned. Front desk said sorry short staffed and a maid quit. Ran out of water for 2 days in the kitchen. Ran out of milk 1 day in kitchen. Just horrible. What makes it so bad is the manager of this hotel does not care at all not even an ounce. Don't go don't go don't go.

Easiest check in I have ever had ! It was late and I needed that. Breakfast was good and got a real good sleep on the beauty rest mattress. I think I'll buy one of those ! Please wait till check out to be pounding on doors "housekeeping" I was awake, i had a do not disturb sign on at 9ish get the knock to rush and hurry ? Didn't like that.

Room floor and carpet was filthy. Had to keep shoes on at all times. Would it kill someone to use bleach to clean the floors? The tub had a ring around it and was stained. Little mold in bath, exhaust fan was filthy. For what we paid, I expect better.

every thing was ok but the television- it didn't work right went off and on. we told them three times but no one came to fix it, girl at desk was more concerned about playing with her phone.

The breakfast was our best experience at this hotel. The young lady helping was very attentive to our needs and it was clean and organized.

Horrible horrible and more horrible. From front door of lobby to the ceilings of the room! Filthy. Rooms were not cleaned by maids, no water or milk, urine in toilet blood or spaghetti sauce on bed, mold and mildew on walls and bathroom. No security in back entrance.
