Holiday Inn Express Savannah-Historic District, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (1528)
We stayed and celebrated my husband's 80th birthday in Savannah @Holiday inn Express on 199 E Bay St. I can't say enough how the whole staff was so inviting and would bent over backwards to help in anyway possible. From the time we pulled up into the driveway. Front desk was there with the biggest smile and so helpful. Our room was nice and clean. The kitchen staff in the morning for breakfast also happy smiling willing to help or get you anything you might need or want. I will say I was sad to leave. Already thinking about going back. We had such a great time!!! We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Great location, great service and always with a big smile!
Fantastic experience and would definetly stay again. Theresa at the front desk always had a smile on her face and friendly with all guests. Room was spacious and spotless. Nice pool area as well. There is a 45.00 per day valet fee but there is a public parking lot directly next door. Literally within steps of the hotel. Hotel is within walking distance to everything. The location is in a very safe area as we walked everywhere and some nights we were out very late. If you purchase tkts for the on and off Trolly you can get on and off a block behind the hotel at the movie theatre. Riverside was a block away with restaurants and shops. The Old Pink House restaurant is a block behind the hotel. Wonderful food need to book well in advance. Couldnt have asked for a better stay.
We spent the weekend here and did not enjoy our stay. Our room did not have A/C and with it being in August it meant we had horrible rest. We weren't compensated for this issue - just extended the option to receive points. This is the second time I've stayed here and the room had A/C issues. I wouldn't recommend if you're staying in the summer. The location is amazing though! There's a deck directly behind the hotel that is typically $5-10 nightly. It is very convenient. The staff are also nice.
The hotel is in an excellent location! Walkable to everything and right next door to a parking garage which was super convenient. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. Mark, the concierge, was great! He helped make our first stay in Savannah easy. He had great suggestions for restaurants which were all amazing, sightseeing, and he also set us up on a great trolley tour and ghost tour. We will definitely stay here again.
One of the best hotel experiences I have had. The location was absolutely perfect for exploring Savannah; the riverfront district and the historic squares and homes. The room was comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was standard IHG fare. There is a lovely pool and hot tub on the rooftop, a bar with happy hour, a gym, and really anything that you may need. The staff is superb. Our check in experience was awesome with a shout out to Abby and Max who ensured that we had a great room. Another shout out to Marc, the concierge for excellent suggestions. I would definitely recommend this hotel and Savannah in general for special occasions.
This holiday inn was perfect for a girls weekend. The location was perfect for quick walking distance to anything in the downtown area without breaking the bank. The room was clean, beds were comfy, and besides some hallway noise at peak times, very quiet hotel. The breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast with hot and cold options. They even had a few packaged gluten free breakfast options! My friends and I felt safe at all times, even when returning from a later night! Overall I would return to this location!
We stayed here four nights and really enjoyed it! The folks at the front desk were all super friendly and helpful. The lobby has a big container of ice water, which was very much appreciated on hot and humid days! Our room was very nice. It was also spotless. We were on the sixth floor with a river view. We had no problems at all with traffic noise. Our room was cleaned and fresh towels brought in twice while we were there, which was fine with us. Don't need it daily. We liked the Dove products in the shower! Breakfast was pretty good. The cinnamon rolls were our favorite! Everyone working in the breakfast area was so friendly and made us feel welcome. If I ever return to Savannah, this will be my choice to stay!!
When picking a hotel, there were several options that were similarly priced but I chose this one and I am SO glad I did. First of all, the rooftop pool. Spacious deck with lots of lounge chairs, tables and chairs, and comfy couches in the shade. The staff were so friendly, including the breakfast staff. The breakfast setup is a bit wonky but the kind staff were there to help hold things and serve us. Definitely above and beyond! The bar happy hour is wonderful and the bartender was so knowledgeable and kind too. I love that they had cold water in the lobby. Made a huge difference after being out in the Georgia humidity. And Leopold’s ice cream is sold there too. Nice local touch. I also appreciate that we could choose to get a river facing room. That was totally worth the price. The beds were very comfortable too. If I’m ever in Savannah again I would definitely stay here again.
