Holiday Inn Express San Diego South - Chula Vista, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Chula Vista - 632 E St, USA

We spent several days at this Holiday Inn Express. The main receptionist, Maria Elena was exceptionally friendly. Thanksgiving Day evening, most restaurants were closed. She offered to let us have some of her leftover food! Parking was free. There was a gym which one of us used daily. Breakfasts were hot and lots of fresh fruit available. Wifi worked well most of the time. Our adult son was with us, so brought some of his work with him.. wifi was essential for him. There was a laundry room available, although we did not use it. In conclusion a very nice hotel in a great location with a large variety of restaurants and eating establishments within walking distance. The carpet has a few folds, showing signs of aging.

This was just a quick one night stay for us -we arrived around 9pm and left at 5am so we didn't get to try the breakfast. It was simple, and spacious. The walls are thin though as we could hear people walking and talking in the hallways. I asked if we could get breakfast to go when I checked in and the receptionist said she would have 2 bags ready with my name on it but when we went to the eating area there was nothing waiting for us. There was parking and the area seemed ok

Every year we visit San Diego and stay at this nice hotel. It offers excellent service, it is near to Downtown San Diego and has free parking. The staff is very kind and helpful. Breakfast is free and tasteful. Very recommended.

Had to stay in SD for a night on business and was able to get the right rate at this hotel. Overall excellent experience. Staff was friendly and courteous, and the room was clean and nice. Will definitely be back.

The rooms are above average, clean and pleasant smelling. Check in was a breeze. Free breakfast was okay. The food area was pleasantly well stocked and clean. The location is not good. You can easily miss the entrance if you aren't diligent. Plus it is across the street from a school.

I stayed her 2x this year for business meetings nearby. Easy to get to SD proper without the extra hassle of traffic. However it’s an aging facility with a questionable elevator. Power went out a week ago and while it was restored over night the stairs would be my first pick. Fitness center has a couple cardio machines which helped with my daily runs . While I ran around the area last trip I don’t recommend since there are some sketchy areas. Downtown Chula Vista is a cool little area though…so kind of a mixed bag. Nice hotel staff too.

The Rooms are fairly clean but dated. They could also vacuum the hallways a little more often. Breakfast is good. Staff are nice and respond quickly to issues. Rooms are to expensive for the area it is located and the condition of the rooms. Wouldn't stay here again

Positive: Location and breakfast. Bed was comfortable but pillows to large. Negative: Rooms 102 to 107 have a very loud ice maker at the end of the hall next to 102 and 103. So noisy it would wake me up. Housekeeping needs to refill the soap dispensers more often.
