Holiday Inn Express New Orleans Dwtn - Fr Qtr Area, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (1330)
Great location, most New Orleans attractions very walkable. Car parking was good onsite, though expensive (think it was around $37 per night), area not found to be noisy, slept well in small basic but comfortable rooms. Reception girls were really good, friendly and efficient. Recommended hotel if the above suits you.
Customer service is spectacular. Everyone was really nice throughout our stay. The hotel and room were always clean. The room was cozy, and the a/c was in working order. The beds and pillows are comfortable, and the refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker made the experience all the better. The pool was a little cloudy, but nothing a treatment of shock can't handle. The breakfast was nothing fancy but amazing, delicious. The fitness room is rather small but has everything you need for maintenance. Can't emphasize enough how all the employees were. I highly recommend this place. It's nothing, famcy, but a great place to stay at. My kids loved the place too.
This hotel is a great hotel. The front desk staff is amazing and extremely helpful. Our first stay house keeping trying to come into the room before checkout. (8:47) The breakfast crew hover over the customers like hawks watching every move. They closed the breakfast before the 9:30 time and in turn reopened it after a few other guests commented it wasn’t even time to close yet. The location is an easy walk to any shop or any stop for transportation. I due feel the price of parking is a little expensive per day when your already paying for a room also. But again the front desk (Chasity) is amazing and really helpful with suggestions & whatever needs you may have.
The second stay at this hotel was amazing. Rooms were great and staff were very helpful. Highly recommend.
Snuggled in between the French Quarter and Garden District. A very short walk to trolly transportation! Finally, a hotel that didn't smell gross. They change the sheets and towels every single day, which is imperative with the hot summer months. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. If you walk away from their breakfast hungry, it is your own fault! I looked forward to grabbing a body armor at the sundries shop each evening to help rehydrate! Keep stocking those. Loved everything!
Your average Holiday Inn Express for the USA so fine for a trip to New Orleans. French Quarter is walkable in about 15 mins so in hot hot weather you may prefer a cab. Room was a good size and bed comfortable. Individual aircon unit under the window means it is noisy if you have it on at night. The hotel seems to be of the sort that attracts noisy customers at breakfast time. So you can expect to have people shouting across to each other or having loud conversations for all to hear. Some might like that vibe. Pot smoking outside the front entrance is common. Supermarket and nice bars and restaurants are a short walk away. On site parking is convenient - check the price though.
Friendly staff, great location but poor accommodations. The furniture in the room was damaged and outdated. The bed was super hard and uncomfortable. No pictures or art on the wall and very dim lighting so the room felt uninviting.
The room wasn't the cleanest and the bathroom/bedroom sink drained slowly. The sliding door to the bathroom didn't stay closed or lock at all. The breakfast was subpar. Cold omelets, hard bacon and over cooked sausage.
It's unfortunate that you have to pay $34 a day to park as a hotel guest. That's just greedy. You also have to pay a $150 deposit that takes 3-7 days to refund. I would rather pay more than stay here again. If you like poor accommodations then this is the hotel for you!
I called to make the reservations and made sure that they understand it was a day stay from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
I was assured over the phone, even though, the emailed reservations stated check in at 3 p.m. that they didn't have a way to show the day stay but my room will be ready by 8 a.m. and kept the reservation because of their promise. When we got there, the room wasn't ready and they said they didn't know who made the promise, as if I'm supposed to know all their employees and had to argue with them for them to get the room ready and off course it wasn't till about 11 a.m.
I explained when making the reservation that my son had surgery in New Orleans and coming to remove his stitches and he needs his rest, so I don't want any issues with the day stay.
The experience and unprofessionalism was very disappointing. I will not stay there again.
The location of the hotel is very good. Very close to main streets like Canal St. and Bourbon St. Close to the river and outlets, also to the French Quarter.
We had some issues with the room but hotel staff fixed it quickly.

The executive king room is amazing, like having our own apartment right in the heart of the French quarter. Very clean. Great hotel staff. Easy to walk everywhere. My only complaints would be the water pressure is non-existent, but I imagine with old
