Holiday Inn Express New Orleans - Arts District, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (1176)
Stayed at this hotel before my cruise and it was absolutely wonderful. The front desk attendant, Markia, Truly made this experience what it was. She was so friendly and her customer service skills are top-tier. I did have a small issue with the AC unit leaking in my room and the manager Tanya fixed it right away. I was very happy with her approach and how she helped me with the situation. I will definitely start recommending this hotel to anyone that stays in New Orleans
My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express – St Charles Avenue for 4 nights in April on our first visit to New Orleans. We really lucked out…. the hotel has an excellent location with very close proximity to the I-10 and locally with the tram line stop just round the hotel in very close vicinity. The famous Canal Street is not far away either. The hotel is relatively small and cozy with a standard Express breakfast but still having ample choices and a hearty breakfast. Our room was quiet and clean. Most of all, and we cannot emphasize enough that the hotel has absolutely great staff. We are frequent travelers and recognize courtesy and good service. The front desk clerks Whitney (evenings) and Charmaine (daytime) were very courteous and helpful with local travel and visitations tips. The breakfast ladies were polite and efficient….. this is reflected similarly across the hotel. Our compliments and thanks are due to the hotel management (Antoinette Perkins, GM and Tanya Wade, Asst GM) whom we also had occasion to meet and to receive assistance from. Thank HIE – St Charles Ave for a comfortable and memorable visit.
Positive: The location was great, very close to the French Quarter. The trolley stop is less than a block away which drops you off at Bourbon Street. The room decor is modern it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Negative: After a ho day in the French Quarter we arrive to a room tha 81° and the air conditioning was broke. Wasnt fixed until 9am,so we got no sleep and had a 12-hour drive the next day. The manager was supposed to call us for price adjustment and never did Negative: ""
Checked into my room, didn’t have time to check and see if the fridge and the TV worked because we already had plans once we returned back to the hotel room our TV and our refrigerator did not work. We had to switch rooms after a long day of walking around downtown a drag The breakfast was horrible, really greasy and burnt for both days front desk was very polite. No pool
I’ve never stayed in a smaller room; my wife and I felt like we were in a shoebox. The bed was fine but it offered nothing else. The shower was less than a yard in depth. There was no room for our two suitcases and us. They installed new carpeting but didn’t bother to shave off the bottom of the bathroom door so it wouldn’t open more than 30”. The handle of the bathroom door was about to come off because a prior guest had pulled it too hard trying to shut it. There was a gap around the room’s door so hallway light filtered in around the edges in the middle of the night. Complimentary breakfast? Great if you want cereal and bagel. And don’t forget to add $35/day for the parking at a lot behind the hotel. Pay some more bucks and choose from the many alternatives in NOLA. By the way, the reason I picked this hotel was because of its walking distance to WW II museum.
Very rude staff, unfriendly and unhelpful. Underserviced breakfast area constantly left guests waiting. We were sent away abruptly when we arrived early, and after being given a late checkout, they called our room to renege. The only thing good about this hotel is the 10-15 minute walk to the convention center and the 20 minute walk to the French Quarter, but the overall experience was dreadful. We stayed for 7 nights!
I wasn’t expecting this hotel to be as nice as it is. The rooms were nice and clean and the perfect size just for me. The location was great for all the places I went to. The staff was the best part about staying at this hotel. Especially Charmaine (Front Desk) and Antoinette (General Manager). They do not know I am grieving the loss of my dad and them being so kind to me brightened my day every day I was there. I was only supposed to stay one night and ended up staying four nights. I’m sure their hospitality contributed to me staying longer. They need a raise!!!!! I would recommend staying at this hotel. 10/10
Positive: Excellent front desk service. Great location away from the crowds yet walking distance to a Smoothie King Stadium Negative: They were running low on towels. Given a gym towel when our room was stocked with one bath towel for 2 guests. Also had to ask for bathroom tissue. Negative: ""

The executive king room is amazing, like having our own apartment right in the heart of the French quarter. Very clean. Great hotel staff. Easy to walk everywhere. My only complaints would be the water pressure is non-existent, but I imagine with old
