Holiday Inn Express McCook, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in McCook - 711 US-83, USA

We recently experienced the pending death of my mother. We had no idea how long we would need to stay. The staff was incredible & went out of their way to make our stay hassle free from the front desk clerk, to the breakfast room staff, housekeeping, maintenance & the hotel manager. The beds are comfortable, the rooms & public areas are clean. The manager even was out clearing the sidewalks of snow! We will be back as we deal with the estate. We HIGHLY recommend the Holiday Inn Express in McCook, NE!!!!

I am a Platinum Elite Holiday Inn member and travel for work and only stay at Holiday Inns or the Holiday Inn Express. I have stayed in this hotel probably 5x and have had problems with it on every occasion. I have always booked my room on line so I can get on the top floor and away from the elevator a quiet stay. My first stay was a few months after they opened. The room was dirty (eg hair in shower, dirty microwave) and they didn't have ANY toothbrushes / toothpaste / etc when I asked for toothpaste at the front desk. Was told they didn't get their shipment... really. Second stay I arrived at 7:30 pm and was told my room wasn't ready because they didn't have the staffing to clean the rooms. Well if I'm sitting in the lobby waiting for my room maybe you, the manager that I was speaking with, could go up and help clean my room? Or maybe send the person folding towels in the lobby up to help? Wound up cancelling the room and going next door! Third and fourth times both rooms were dirty. Stuff on the carpet, mirror didn't get cleaned, and again the shower had hairs and soap residue all over. I am currently sitting in the room on my 5th attempt (I get a TON of points at the Holiday Inns that I use to take family vacations so I wanted to try one more time). Well they didn't disappoint. Its dirty, shower, pee on the toilet lid, used K-cup in coffee maker, and a serious amount of orange crackers (or something similar) all over the bathroom floor! Its too late to go to another hotel and I did check the sheets and they appear to be clean. I am done with McCook Holiday Inn! Corporate complaints just get sent to local management and local management just does the standard "I'm sorry about your stay..... blah blah blah" email response and does nothing about it. They need to fire the management staff and retrain the cleaning crew! Can't leave a 1 star review on the Holiday Inn website since I haven't checked out yet....

Cleaner than most HIX properties. Looks nice when you first walk in. Fairly new hotel. Since I say over 100 nights a year in a hotel, I'm frustrated the price they charge for what you get.|1. Toilet that is smaller than the ones we had in first grade. They buy the cheapest toilets they can find. They don't flush well either.|2. Sliding shower door not installed level so it won't stay closed. |3. Shower rail not stainless, so it's rusting and isn't cleaned.|4. Glass shower doors are covered with lime stains, almost looks like frosted glass. |5. Shower faucet covered with lime stains.|6. Heater/AC very loud. But it works.|On a positive note, they have two slow elevators instead of one and the public areas were clean. Room was cleaner than most, but that's because it's new.

The evening lady at desk not so friendly when I checked in no discounts on anything like AARP. Didn't say where the room was just elevator over there. Nice lay out for breakfast, but when I got the bill it was about 17 more dollars then I was told. Said 98 dollars turned into 115.and some change. But overall not a bad place to stay

Evidently you must go through a call center to make a reservation. After getting bounced around an automated telephone system and receiving a call center I hung up to try it again, eventually was able to receive the front desk and when I told them that I would like to reserve a room they bounced me back to the call center! where no one speaks English of a sufficiently high level to be able to understand them. I do not trust call center reservations I've had too many bad experiences, so I called a different hotel in town where I had a very pleasant experience. Guess I will not try this hotel again. Looks like a nice place.

Good place to stay. Initial check-in with the night staff was interesting. Otherwise, it was a good stay. Note that they don't clean your room daily.

Christy, Makayla and staff were amazing and accommodating to our family. They worked with us despite an online booking issue through another vendor and handled it onsite. Had the crib, extra blankets and towels for the kids without having to ask. Best hotel we've used in McCook and will be using again for future visits! Can't recommend this one enough if you're visiting town!

Rooms were clean. Staff were all courteous, friendly and helpful when needed. Hot breakfast was way better than a continental breakfast. Well-stocked, enjoyable and filling. Thanks for all your great work, Staff!
