Clean hotel. Check in lady very attentive and helpful . Room clean and cozy . Breakfast area clean and well kept. Hot food very tasteful . The lady that keeps the breakfast area greeted us and was indicating us about the different options ; she kept everything clean and well supplied, The hotel is old in transition to move to a new building across the street. Front desk lady for the check out attended us kindly .

I booked a suite during my sons wedding online and, when I called to make some requests (like first floor etc,), I was informed I had to request "being in the block" of rooms, so I did. None of the arrangements that I made were honored or noted anywhere--including the nightly rate OR the rate for the room we booked for the Thursday before the wedding (we were told we couldn't have the rate because it wasn't part of the block). We were quoted $148 for that night and charged $159; we were quoted $159 for the rooms that were reserved "in the block", but charged $178.00. Some of the staff were clueless (even about finding our name in the computer, which answers our question about prior arrangements being honored). The others (including the general manager, Ryan Hockenberry) were rude and defensive. This is the poorest hotel service I've ever had at a hotel, anywhere. While the breakfast/pool/room cleanliness and housekeeping services were great and what you would expect from holiday inn express, the front desk personnel needed training on basic reservation knowledge and computer usage and ALOT of training in customer service. Bottomline: get all of your rates and tax costs provided when you make your reservation and take a screen shot--honesty and taking responsibility for makes is not a strong suit of the holiday inn express front desk staff in Hutchinson, KS.

Do not book here if you have a choice. The room was so dirty!! When we walked in we noticed it didn't look like it had been vacuumed, but thought it was an older room and the carpet was just dingy. Went to shower and the shower had hair on the walk, sand in the bottom of the tub and a half used bar of soap laying there. It had NOT been cleaned. Thr countertop was dirty, thr mirror with prints on it and the floor grimy. Went down and asked for cleaning supplies as I don't trust that any new room they give us will be better. So at 12:30am we cleaned our own room. The rags were brown after we mopped the floor. Truly disgusting and hair all over around the toilet. The whole hotel just looks dingy and dirty and smells musty. The front desk girl was nice and tried to help.

Was told upon Arrival my card was declined, but the last 4 numbers of the card read off wasn’t mine. Booked online and had successful conformation. Was asked for the card I booked with to swipe for incidentals. That night I realized I was doubled charged for 2 nights. I waited for the second charge to clear as most places can’t refund something in a pending status. When I called one of the front desk told me she took care of it and had gotten it refunded and all I’d be charged was the drinks we charged to the room. The next morning I double checked my bank statements to see I had not been refunded but CHARGED for a THIRD TIME so now I’ve paid over $750 for a 2 night stay. Natalie now refunded me and when I called later to talk with Ryan, the manager I was sent to his voicemail with no returned call. All while my card was now locked through my bank and I didn’t have access to any funds! They couldn’t even return a call! Very poor service from a manager! Always stayed here when returning to hutch for the weekend and will now be staying somewhere else! I can only give 2 stars instead of 1 because the lady that was working Sunday morning/afternoon was 5 star help! I wish id have gotten her name. We stayed may 18th snd 19th 2024. Maybe she should have the manager position.

Rooms are dusty! You can see on purple walls above bed and entertainmentstand. Headboard had smears all over it. House keeping woke me up everyday between 8-9 am to clean room even though sign on door. Housekeeping came again at 10 to have me check out to clean my room even though check outs at 11.

Positive: The woman at the front desk when we checked in was very friendly, welcoming and wasn't bothered when we asked her questions about simple things like how to work the key card. Negative: Two minor children were swimming without an adult present. Negative: ""

We've stayed at this location multiple times. It's usually very nice. This time, the breakfast was disappointing. Perhaps because there weren't many guests on that day, they decided to skip the standard Holiday Inn Express cinnamon rolls and bacon/sausage even though we went right in the middle of the breakfast time. We knew it wasn't that they ran out and were still cooking them because the empty warmers were cold. Still recommend this hotel as this may be an isolated incident.

We came here for State Basketball, sat in the Lobby quietly for a few hours. Nobody was doing anything crazy, kids were hanging out and so were parents. The cops got called randomly at 10:15 and they were just as surprised as us that they were there. The staff was in the back saying nothing, nobody said anything to us about noise level or anything. The price we pay for these rooms, maybe relax, it’s not that serious.
