Holiday Inn Express Hartford South - Rocky Hill, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Rocky Hill - 20 Waterchase Dr, USA

We came with hockey tournament team. First, the add-on above what hotel rooms normally are was unreasonable and given the service just rediculous. Second - no flexibility. When I was booking the room through link provided by team, it crashed several times. I saw that it ended up creating 2 bookings, so I went ahead and canceled one. When I arrived to the hotel, it showed that I actually created 3 bookings and with one canceled, I had two rooms. I asked to cancel one - with $$ hotels make from tournament team stays, it is routinely done by other hotels. No flexibility here from hotel owners and management - I had to pay for my room + TWO extra nights for the other room. In addition, tv service across all rooms was out due to service outage - no apology from the hotel, nothing extra for the trouble, no discount.. The shower water was lukewarm, breakfast was miserable- usually hotels hosting teams provide fruit, bananas, yoghurt, variety of healthier bread options. Overall: hotel is not ready to host sports teams of families, too greedy to provide service. Bad, bad - I highly recommend to find another option for family or team travel.

Easy check in/out. Room was clean and quiet. Refrigerator & microwave, breakfast was normal fare of eggs, a different meat each day, pancakes, cereal etc. laundry is $4 to wash & $4 to dry. Decided to wait until next hotel bc that’s a rip off. Behind bathroom door in room 100 needs attention as wallpaper had lifted about a foot & there’s mold under it next to bathtub. Door by us was not working to come in from parking lot/by pool. With our room being the last before outside door ..not sure who was smoking weed, but it was coming into our room via the AC (don’t think under the door). There’s a few restaurants very close by and that was nice after a long day of sightseeing,

On 7/13 my stay was expiring at this hotel due to unavailability for extension. I was unaware at the time that we couldn’t extend and the company usually handles that but since it was a Saturday thing just got complicated. At 1121 the GM stopped by my door and I answered and asked him to give me some more time to check out. In between then and 1215 he continued to knock 4 times which put me in a rush after the company stayed there for 3 weeks straight and multiple rooms. So i was rushing due to him constantly banging on my door. I went to eat 3 minutes down the road. About an hour later I realized i had left my wallet and a nice button down hanging in the closet. I went back and the room was already occupied (hotel wasn’t near full yet). The GM and I went to the room to look quickly and he said that the maid service likely had that and my shirt. He looked with no luck, I called in a few times and still no luck. He said the shirt was likely in the laundry? Don’t know why they would do that, but I gave it a day, still no luck, another day, still no luck, etc. I’m not accusing anyone but the fact is my wallet was laying on the table and I had a button down in the closet that disappeared. Be cautious when using this hotel as things seem to go missing without much concern or explanation.

To begin, let me express my dislike for Holiday Inns; however, the one near Hartford is an exception. Cleanliness is paramount for me, and this establishment excels in that regard, with daily room cleanings and a fresh ambiance. Remember to tip the housekeepers; they do an outstanding job! While I'm not particularly fond of the breakfast, I appreciate the fresh fruit and cinnamon rolls, along with well-prepared coffee. Andrew, the manager, shows genuine care for both guests and the property. Conveniently located near the highway, with plenty of dining options nearby, it's become my go-to during travels from Texas.

Very good clean bright rooms. Good healthy breakfast with many options. Nice staff members (especially day shift). Quite far from the city (could be benefit or disadvantage depends on the goal of a trip).

I stayed here for one night and since arriving I was very happy with the cleanliness and wonderful staff. Excellent customer service. The room was sparkling clean and comfortable beds. I would definitely stay here again.

Positive: Location was close to restaurants and we liked the free breakfast. Staff were friendly. Negative: No carpeting in our room, lots of hallway noise. Shades were ripped, people in parking lot were smoking and loud in the afternoon. All carido machines in fitness room were broken. Negative: ""

CUSTOMER SERVICE was over the top awesome. Michael went above and beyond to cater to my needs. I truly appreciate the personal touch Anthony and Michael put on my stay. (The surprise was a success! TY!)
