Holiday Inn Express Grover Beach-Pismo Beach Area, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Grover Beach - 775 N Oak Park Blvd, USA

This was my first in this area. The hotel itself has an interesting setup as the lobby is separate from the room buildings. There is a lot of parking space which is kind of hidden in the middle of room buildings. Staff was very helpful and friendly - no complaints at all! They really need to upgrade the breakfast area, it was super tiny and got crowded with long queue. Juice dispenser was out of order which is not great for grab n go breakfast. Other items were available and the staff was filling in pretty quickly. Location is also good as it is right at next to the freeway.

We wanted a beach trip and all the oceanfront hotels were either booked or priced way too expensive. Great choice! Very good stay at a reasonable price. Renovation, clean rooms with comfortable beds and excellent AC. Great choice for a last minute booking and not breaking the budget.

Room was okay. Entire building reeked of bleach and it gave me a headache, made my eyes burn and messed with my asthma. Had to open the patio door and turn the ac on high which only helped a little. Floor was dirty and gritty. The guy that checked me in was nice enough but didn't give any information as to how to get to the pool and there are no bathrooms next to it- really inconvenient- or what time breakfast is served. Only two full sized towels in a two bed room. No TV channel list anywhere to be found. Breakfast was great. 10 minutes to Pismo beach. Walmart is a couple minutes away as is a gas station and liquor store. I was also not told about a 100 extra charge. It came up on my credit card account as pending. Power went out for several hours on 7/16. Was unable to see to shower and unable to watch TV or use the air conditioner. Need a partial refund

It is supposed to be 100% smoke-free property. Smells like weed everywhere. The room is dirty with someone's hair on the shower wall. Bed is one of the more comfortable ones I've slept on, but the layout of the property, cleanliness, and the smell of weed will keep me from ever staying here again. Maintenance was running a Sawzall at 07:59am. There were dogs barking like mad in the hotel (no pets allowed). I can't wait to leave.

Definitely the worst holiday inn express in the area. The rooms have been updated but don’t have coffee machines in the room, which is usually standard. Twice I’ve had issues with the showers myself and once a colleague did as well (water was way too hot and couldn’t be changed).The service leaves a lot to be desired, the people that work there always seem like they really don’t want to be there. Visited in May 2024.|Hotel is not typical in that the lobby is separate from the rooms. |There were about 10 steps from the parking lot to get to the elevator so bear that in mind for luggage etc. |Room was comfortable- had a small balcony. Location was pretty good.

Positive: Nice and welcoming staff, easy check-in, free breakfast and parking, quiet location, balcony included with room, comfy bed Negative: Location of hotel is on a steep hill so entering/exiting is a little difficult but they can't do much about that, otherwise the only thing was the bathroom could've been a little cleaner. I found some hairs on the floor when entering for the first time.

Friendly employees. Great breakfast for the morning. Room was clean and I could put my machine on the buit in luggage rack to do my peritoneal dyalis. The room was also spacious to move around.
