Loved our stay here. Mr. Patel is very attentive to the guests. He made our stay as pleasant as could be. I’m a picky mom when it comes to cleanliness and this place was beyond expectations; extremely CLEAN. BREAKFAST 10/10! Staff is amazing!

Had a very nice stay here for one night. They even upgraded us to a suite! The owner/manager was very kind and they allowed us to check out an hour late as well. There are plenty of food options nearby and it is right off the highway, which makes it conveniently located. Breakfast was good, parking is free, price is very reasonable and the rooms were fine. Slightly outdated, but everything was in working order. A pleasant day.

Im so happy we stayed here. It’s in the perfect location for us right outside of the city. Biggest thing for me ITS SO CLEAN!! The people that run this place are so kind and remembered us by name! We will be back! also big plus there’s a hot tub and breakfast!

We arrived right after a 14+hour flight. This hotel, thankfully, was quite convenient to get to (only about 30 minutes from SFO) and had comfortable beds as well as good sized rooms. The room felt quite clean although the carpets were kind of dingy and stained. It would be much better if the floors were not carpeted. The queen beds were just hotel queens so they were double beds, but they were quite comfortable. The room could use deep cleaning in corners and some areas were dusty, but overall, the room was pretty clean. The breakfast was lacking as the eggs were the reconstituted powder/liquid eggs and there were no omlettes or sausages, and the bacon was turkey bacon. Overall, the hotel was well kept-up and the staff were ok. I don't recall a gym, but there might've been one that we didn't use. The hotel staff called us at 11:06 as we were walking down the hall and I ran back to get to the phone. I didn't appreciate being rushed, I think a 10-15 minute grace period makes more sense than to be called at the 5-minute point, it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Great hospitality, security, cleanliness. Very busy hotel and location, however, the hotel was very quiet and comfortable. Manager KD Patel remembered me from my visits during the height of the COVID pandemic, and he greeted me by name. Property location is convenient to family and business appointments in the San Fransico Bay area.

Staff is super polite, rooms are simple, clean and somewhat quiet. It's a great choice for safe place to sleep.

From check in experience (very late), to enjoying the morning breakfast bar during our 5 day stay, to the check out process...... This Holiday Inn Express in Castro Valley was top notch. Throughout our stay we experienced the best customer service levels which this day and age is getting to be a rare thing. The room was extremely clean and the breakfast bar each day was beyond our expectations as the selection was great and quality of the food and the seating area was the best. Great selection from the automatic pancake machine (magical for the kids) to the eggs, sausage, bagels, cereal selection, etc. During check out I had the pleasure of meeting the manager of the hotel and I passed on my compliments to him and his great team. We are looking to our next stay here.

Rooms were good, need better beds and lighting. Night was either pitch black or blinding light no middle or night lighting. Furniture was very dated/stained/dirty. Service was good. Breakfast was good.
