Weather made us change our plans last minute so we booked a room here late in the day. We arrived around 8pm and check in was super quick, the desk attendant was lovely and personable. We had booked a room with a separate living area/pull out couch for our son, and while it was the most awkwardly shaped and oddly sized hotel room I’ve ever seen - it was clean. You can tell the building has been redone. Some areas show a bit of age but overall it felt bright and well done. Our king bed was ridiculously comfortable. The pull out sofa was awful. Every single spring was visible and of course you could feel them. Luckily we had my son’s sleeping bag so that helped. The front desk lady was very kind again when we went down to get some extra pillows. It was an adjoining room and the neighbors came in rather loudly but then settled down. Breakfast was good in quality but the layout is a disaster. It’s a very narrow almost alley way that is supposed to have a one-way flow but nobody realized that - it was nearly impossible to get in and around to get food. The coffee was not good but the rest of the food was pretty decent. All in all a good stopping place for a night.
I had a good time here. They have breakfast every morning, including on Christmas, and I very much appreciate that. My only complaint was that the 1st room had an issue with the toilet that required us to move to a different room, but I was met with resistance by the manager named Allen who didn't take my issue seriously but he sent someone to clean it and his name I believe was Tim (an older gentleman with glasses) who saw the issue and helped me articulate the problem to Allen that eventually came to the solution of moving to a different room that had a working toilet. Now, this isn't much of a complaint as Allen was going on the information I had told him and I'm not good with the wordy words but it would have been easier to just have me change rooms if the 1st place and I really appreciate Tim for helping me out.
Average updated holiday inn. Staff was friendly and helpful. They offer free breakfast and the food was decent. I like the dual gas fire places in the lobby. Price was a little steep for double beds at 209 for a suite....which wasn't any different than a standard room.
Staff are kind and patient and work well with special needs populations. Gave us a refund for 2 of our rooms when our party ended up being smaller than anticipated. Breakfast was better than your average hotel in this price range and room are fantastic. Sheets very very soft and climate control is self controlled in each room.
We arrived at the hotel around 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 22nd. At check-in, we were told that the room was not ready yet. The hotel is definitely having a staffing issue. However, they handled it well. They suggested that we enjoy the sitting area in the lobby or go get something to eat. I really felt for the staff that was working so hard to get people into their rooms. They said they had 95 people check out that morning and only had a few cleaning people show up. The manager that was on duty, Allen Edwards, was working hard to try to keep everyone happy. We watched one lady be a complete idiot and continue to make loud scenes. The manager did a really good job of trying to make her happy while defending the employees that he had working. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was great, and the location (for fall leave time) is wonderful. We hope to enjoy the hotel again soon.
The room is smaller than a lot of Holiday Inns, the breakfast area is so small it's one way, and if you drink tea instead of coffee get ready to be disappointed by Lipton tea instead of the standard Bigelow you get at the other holiday inns. It's very clean, but don't expect the house keeping staff to show up because if you request them the front desk will tell you they don't clean rooms until you leave. Period. They don't take trash. They don't bring towels. And if you ask the front desk for towels they will give you whatever is on hand, but for my family of 5 all they had was 3. I am a diamond elite member of IHG. Its pretty obvious management will cut any corner they need to and inconvenience any guest they have to, to save a buck. I will never return to this hotel, even though that means next year I will have a longer drive for my work. Service is worth the drive.
The hotel was clean and the staff was inviting. The room not only had a mini refrigerator and microwave but also had all of the necessary bathroom items such as a blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. The linens were super soft and comfortable and the desk area was perfect for me to get some work done while enjoying my stay visiting my daughter who attends App State.
This is a very convenient hotel to stay in when visiting Blowing Rock. We always use this hotel when coming for business and/or hiking. The rooms are always clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There are some small things that could make it better - hot water in the coffee stand and maybe start breakfast a little earlier for the early risers! Thanks much for the opportunity to review.

We needed a room for one night so we started checking reviews and this place had the best ones around that area. We will be back for Vacation and stay longer then. Everything was so clean and tidy. Give them a try and I promise you will love it. Walk
This is such a beautiful overlook. I wouldnât say itâs the best place to see a sunrise (why we originally went, we saw good sunrise reviews), but itâs still an amazing view. The kids loved it too. Itâs a great overlook to stop by if youâre
