Holiday Inn Express Benicia, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Benicia - 1375 E 5th St, USA

Arriving at the hotel was a little confusing. The lobby is off the main road and has a tiny underground looking parking area for check in. Once checked in you can go further down the way to a parking lot under the hotel. I admit this was nice. There was plenty of space and the car was kept cool and shaded. Coming and going was pretty easy after that.|The hotel lobby is clean and offers water and cookies. Service was friendly and check in was simple. The elevator to the room took awhile to arrive. At least it seemed, since the hotel is only 2 floors. Sort of a choppy ride too. There are stairs available, but we couldn't get our card key to work and allow access.|The room itself was clean and cozy. My only issue was the strong fragrance. It was so strong it started giving me a headache. After running the air and opening a window the smell started to fade a little. I'd caution anyone who's headaches are triggered by fragrance. |The bed was incredibly comfortable as were the pillows. I can count my night of sleep as one of the best I've had. I'd gladly go back just for that! |Plenty of towels in the bathroom to use, including a floor towel. All bathing products in the hotel were Dove. They also had fragrances. Only mentioning for those with sensitive skin.

Positive: For us the location was great, as we were there for a wedding. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Negative: The room, the carpet and chair especially felt dirty. Rooms need some updating. Negative: ""

Rooms were nice...The best part was the showers were hot and the water flow ...The hotel was convenient to the areas we visited.

Unfortunately had a really bad experience with this hotel. Had an error with the booking dates and they were EXTREMELY difficult to work with. When I called I was on hold for 30 min. They had bad customer service and we’re not understanding or helpful in the slightest. Lost a lot of money:/ DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.

Family friends stayed at this hotel and I assisted with booking the conference room for a small surprise bridal event. The location was perfect for small events. It was clean and came with a projector screen, chairs and tables. The hotel staff (I believe her name was Emie) made sure she offered what is available to us like water, table cloths, etc. Checked in from time to time for what we might need. Also, special mention to Connor and Megan. After a 6 - hour drive from SoCal on a rainy day, we were greeted with smiles, like we're family to them, appreciate their excellent service with my booking and their manager, Teresa. Very courteous and professional with their communication. Can tell that they have an awesome team. Our friend (the bride) was the happiest that day, I appreciate this hotel so much!

Front desk was nice and helpful when we ask for places to eat around . Silent aisle 1st floor. Cookies and water in the looby all day that help too if you needs something. Dinning room for breakfast was full the good warm stuff. 💯% recommended!

The hotel was great, especially the outdoor almost rooftop-like lounge area. We could go right out our room to get some vitamin D in the sun without having to hang out on the street. Rooms were spacious and clean, and the hotel is in a good location. As great as the room and property were, what truly made our stay the best was Teresa at the front desk. Get that girl a raise! She answered all of our questions, gave great recommendations, moved us closer to our friends’ room, gave us a late checkout, and was friendly and funny the entire time. I’d come back again thanks to her!

The breakfast was a delight. I kept finding myself waking up earlier and earlier in order to be the first person at breakfast. The food was fresh with good variety. The staff was kind and helpful. She really knew how to make a ok morning better. Definitely the best part of my stay.
