Holiday Inn Express & Suites West Point-Fort Montgomery, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Fort Montgomery - 1106 Rte 9W, USA

I stayed here Aug 8-11, for a wedding but solo in room 318, king studio suite ||Pros:|- Great location to West Point military academy, Bear Mountain State Park|- Delicious breakfast |- Friendly Staff and they were helpful in me leaving something for other guests when they checked in. |- Spacious room with table/chairs, coffee station, fridge, couch and tv and separate king bed, dresser and cabinet for closet and a separate side compartment for ironing board (I thought this was smart) |- Next to a gas station and a delicious BBQ restaurant ||Cons: |- The room overall was clean but the bathroom had hair on the bath tub, shower curtain and towels. Long black hair against the white, very obvious which means someone wasn’t paying attention or not diligent enough about cleanliness and readiness for guests. ||The front desk offered to move me to another room multiple times, but my things were already unpacked at this time. So I asked them to give me a new shower curtain for me to hang myself and clean towels. That was my decision and I was okay with it. ||- Floor was dirty between bathroom and living room and I did not feel comfortable walking barefoot in the room. I notified the wrong desk but this was not resolved before I left. ||- Water temperature in the shower was lukewarm/cold. I thought maybe it was due to showering during peak hours, but the last time was at midnight. I only alerted the staff upon checkout. ||STRUCTURAL THINGS ||- From the bed, You have to walk through the living room to get to the bathroom.|- There is no towel hook by the shower and toilet is too far from shower to easily reach, so I set my toilet on the bath mat. |- Shower curtain hangs low and bunches up in the shower, could be a slipping hazard||FYI. Hotel is not close to downtown Highland Falls (Lyft ride approx $30 including tip)

Highly recommended hotel for the area. Newly renovated rooms which was nice to see. About a 3 mile drive to West Point. The gym is decent along with the break area. There is really good BBQ restaurant on the left when you exit the hotel parking lot and a gas station as well.

The location is perfectly located for a West Point Military Academy visit or some of the outdoor activities in the area. The staff was friendly but this place is going through a renovation and I wouldn't say it's a good one. Water was constantly brown. The HVAC system for the hallways and big areas was awful. Fish smell in several areas. None of the outlets worked in my room, big foul there! The breakfast area is very hot/humid and noisey. I read the reviews before booking, and the breakfast I experienced was subpar at best. Again the staff is friendly and the location is perfect.

I have recently stayed at two hotels in the area. This one has unwelcoming staff members. The hotel rooms match the staff attitudes. While the rooms are in order and have what you need, they feel dreary and unwelcoming. If you must stay in this area then they are fine. Personally I would rather stay at the Thayer even with its out of date rooms for personality and walking around on base easily then this drab hotel

This facility is a construction site masquerading as a hotel. Virtually the entire second floor (and perhaps more) is completely torn up and being renovated. The workers doing the renovation are staying in the hotel with their families. When I checked in around 4:00 pm I wanted to take a nap after a long day of driving, but the constant hammering and use of power tools in the room directly above me meant that was impossible - it continued until at least 5:30 PM at which point I gave up and left the building. Although I complained to the front desk, they were not able to make it stop. When I returned to the room after dinner, I was greeted by the unrelenting shrieking of a small child from the room next door, which was occupied not by another hotel guest, but by the family of the renovating workers, who didn't even have their door closed. After complaining again about the noise, I asked for a different room and was only offered one on the floor being renovated. Although it was claimed by the clerk that the room was "finished," the thermostat was laying on a shelf with its wires protruding from the wall. The bathroom counter was covered with fine white dust. Not finished. Exhausted, I gave up and went to sleep in the partially renovated room, dodging the construction obstacles in the hallway. No hotel guest should have to put up with this travesty. The rental of a hotel room implies "quiet enjoyment" of which I received neither. I will be pursuing a refund. Management should close the hotel for renovations rather than perpetrating a fraud on tired travelers.

Location is great for outdoor activities, seeing historic sites and getting away from the busy city life. Hotel staff were polite and attentive, and very accommodating for my needs. I will definitely be returning for any future stays in this area.

Though only one person managing the whole 1st floor. Service is immediate, professional and with courtesy. I would say first class service. Room is clean, spacious. Bathroom is clean. Bathroom flush is strong. Drain well like new. Lots of cable channels. Swimming pool, sauna are clean. Pleasant and comfortable place for good R&R. Rejuvenate.

Well kept and clean rooms, staff was very helpful and respectful. Appreciated the stress free and relaxing atmosphere. Great place!
