Holiday Inn Express And Suites Waynesboro East, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (61)
Excellent location, 8 minutes from my favorite restaurant in the area: Heritage On Main. Going along with others' reviews, this hotel is noisy. The noisiest hotel I've been in by far. I've been unlucky to get the same room (312) every time I stay here. Even when I tried to upgrade my room through the app, I still got stuck with 312. Each time I stay here I think "no way it'll be the same experience as last time" and I'm always wrong. Its as if there are multiple kids above my room at all time running back and forth. From 7am to midnight, there is always some running around. Drives me insane. Will consider another hotel next time I'm in the area.
I stayed there for one night in late August, and when i first entered the room i really thought it was nice - new furniture, great bed, etc. The hotel had been used under Covid-19, so the fan in the AC could not be turned of completely, and it was VERY loud. The receptionist knew about this issue, and offered me some earplugs for the night, and said she couldnt do much about it - which is fair, but from a customer point of view, its not okay. I literally could not sleep that night, because of the loud noise. After a while i discovered that the room was filthy - used ear wax pins, looooong black hair on the desk. I will NOT be coming back to this place.
We booked a room for two nights at the hotel to attend a family funeral. We booked it because we like the brand, and the hotel was new. We were on the 5th floor and the Wi-Fi was intermittent (my laptop would not connect) April, at the desk tried very hard to no avail and said the 5th floor had connectivity issues. The next morning, we went to breakfast at 8:00 and put the DND sign on the door as we needed to return to dress for the funeral. Breakfast was awful. The pancake machine was broken, no yogurt. no bread, muffins, biscuits, bagels, cold eggs, etc. Also, the area was not very clean. We returned to the room, removed the door sign and left for the funeral at 10:00. We returned at 2:30 and our room had not been cleaned. The cleaning staff was next door, so we assumed our room was next. We told the woman we were going to change and then leave which she acknowledged. We came back at 5:30 and our room wasn't cleaned. We called the front desk, and they came up and did a quick clean. The next morning, we were up early and went to Breakfast before we going to check out. There was no food, no milk, coffee pots were empty and there were a lot of upset patrons in the room. Again, the room was not clean. Upon checkout I spoke to the woman at the front desk who 1) insinuated our room wasn't clean because of the DND signe (she said we must have left it on the door all day). Our fault? Really? 2) told me that someone was in the back cooking (but it was late and we needed to get on the road and not wait!) 3) Asked what she wanted her to to? and 4) she really had no desire to listen to me nor address our complaints. Horrible customer service! I called the General Manager twice (still no call back) but doid receive a canned e-mai about they take our comments very serious, use thwem to better train staff, blah, blah, blah. There were always people hanging out in the lobby (not guests), lounging, eating or doing homeworkcrafts. I assume they were friends or relatives of the staff, but not comforting at all. This hotel needs a new Manager and better trained staff. ||There are other choices in Waynesboro. I recoimmend you book one of them and stay away from this hotel. Really too bad because it is a very nice prpoperty!
Very clean - must be a new hotel. Registration desk was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Large room and reasonable bathroom. Basic complementary breakfast. Super convenient, although location next to highway does have some noise. There is a salt water pool Ample parking. Plenty of chain casual dining restaurants and fast food places in the immediate area. Convenient to Skyline Drive National Park.
Very clean looks like a brand new hotel. Rooms are clean and well kept. Breakfast was delicious. Also, it would be perfect for families and includes a heated indoor pool. Great out back patio area. One thing to note you could hear music from the neighboring restaurant late at night in the parking lot. But we never hear it from our room inside.
This is a relatively new hotel, and is currently pretty full most of the time due to contractors staying there because of all of the expansion in the area. That means that the cleaning staff is pretty busy and can miss minor things. The staff is very good and apologetic about anything missing or missed, so that's nice. They were very friendly to my children. The breakfast the next day is standard faire, which is great if you are on the go, like the contractors were, or just having picky kids. Overall a good experience. They came recommended to me and I recommend them to you!
Very new and nice Holiday Inn Express. My biggest surprise was that the sheets were REALLY nice. The bed was quite comfortable as well (and I'm picky), but the sheets really blew me away for a hotel of this price. I appreciated that they have full-size, refillable soap/shampoo/conditioner/lotion in the bathroom, especially because I (like many people) only stayed a single night, and I hate unwrapping a whole bar of soap to just use it a couple times. Perfect for road trips, super convenient location off the highway and surrounded by every chain restaurant you can think of. I stayed on the 5th floor and couldn't really hear any highway noise. They also have a pool and a self-service laundry room. Breakfast was just fine, as you might expect.
The hotel rooms were not clean. The bathroom was nasty because it had leftover floss. There was hair on the floor and in the sheets. All they offered was more sheets! Why would I want to make my own bed in a hotel? Very disappointing because ever other holiday inn is nice.

The hotel's fire alarm went off at 10:30 p.m. and all hotel guests had to vacate the property and stand outside, many in their pajamas, in sub freezing temperatures and high winds. After approximately 15-20 minutes guests realized there was no fire

I have reviewed the east side, now for the west. This side is way more of a workout getting to and from the tunnel. More of a woodland trail where you eventually make your way to the black fence and tunnel, but with a lot of ups and downs. The tunnel
