Holiday Inn Express & Suites Terrell, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Terrell - 300 Tanger Dr, USA

The staff is what saved this hotel. I had two rooms. The first room was ok, however the second room smelled of heavy bleach all throughout the room. So strong that our eyes were being affected. The bed linens were damp feeling. The bathroom had was so humid that sweat had formed on the floor, causing my spouse to slip but thankfully didn't fall completely. I went to ask for a room change. The evening staff were very friendly and came up to the room and acknowledged all the complaints were valid. Got the room changed. The breakfast was very average and not very impressive. I have had better from other IHG properties.

This location is one of the first ones I've visited that's noticeably needing a renovation and update to the rooms. Older furniture and electronics. Microwave sitting on top of the mini fridge in the corner. For the price of the rooms you'd expect better.. The employees we had contact with were amazing and very friendly. The hot breakfast was available and was up to standards with other locations of the same name. The indoor pool and spa were also clean and functional.

The staff !! They are friendly and attentive, they can not control the lack of commitment to keep the hotel up to date. Which needs a major overhaul, remodel and facelift. We left our pillows here and they had them at front desk. Says a lot about the character of the staff.. Which is surprising, I have left dress shirts and other items at upscale hotels only for those items to never be seen. Which does demonstrate I am not doing a great job keeping up with my personal items😎

Love this place. Angela checked us in yesterday Her smile, friendly attitude, polite, great spirit and helpfulness of things in the area was AWESOME. 😃 Makes the stay even better when the employees are helpful. Room super clean, Cold (exactly how we like it), breakfast was hot & good. We will be back.

This a small town hotel most likely the better choice of all the other hotels. The day before I checked in, this location experienced tornado damage. I arrived around 4 or 5 the day after tornado. Others arrive at three hours before me. This site would not manually check anyone their room until the manually re-entered guests from the program day. There were several employees available, one one entering data. Another vacuuming when told to do so, another two in the kitchen, doing anything but ensuring guest get checked asap possible. I understand they had tornado issues, there was absolutely no contingency plan, just advised to go to dinner or sit and wait in the Lobby. No customer service at all. In addition this location is outdated and crawling with water bugs, room 417. One more thorn in my side no emailed bill,been trying to call for over an hour, rings busy.

Staff was excellent, super helpful, and friendly! All my interactions with any of the staff were good, from the manager to the maintenance.... The hotel had been damaged by the last big storm in Texas, and they were on the repairs, but when I stayed, some were still not fixed... and there was a musty smell, but I blame that on the storm, I'm sure that it has been taken care of by now. Even with the smell and a few things closed down due to the storm, the staff made my stay great, and if I am ever back in the area, I will stay here again!

I’ll start off by saying I’m an IHG member, we’re military and travel all over and move every other year. I make a point to only stay at IHG for reliability of what to expect across the board. We come to Terrell every summer to drop my kiddos off at camp and this year we thought we’d get a hotel for one night to have fun at the pool the night before and morning of drop off. The pool “was closed for maintenance” and the information was only offered after we asked with zero information on what was wrong and the estimated time for the fix. It’s Memorial Day and there’s no pool 🙃 I honestly should have canceled my reservation right there at the desk and moved on to a different hotel, because it only got worse from there. When you walk in you can feel the dampness in the hotel. The first room we were offered was on the third floor. There was a leak in the ceiling over the foot of one of the beds. Thankfully no issues asking for a new room, but the dampness was also felt in the fourth floor room we were assigned. The beds in this room are so terrible that they act like they’re roll up camp mattresses. We’re not heavy people, but sitting on the edge of the bed causes the outer 12-18 inches to hunch down. So two people sharing a Queen was miserable as my husband kept fighting rolling off the bed with the mattress. The carpet was damp. The towels felt damp before we even used them (and there were only 3 towels in a 4 person room). The chair in the room was covered in gross stains, so I used one of the towels to cover the seat. The table was “clean” but sticky. The AC had that mildew smell when it ran. We cancelled our stay for picking up the kids from camp and will be staying closer to Buccees at one of the other hotels. The quality of this hotel was equal to the Motel 6 across the highway NOT what I expect of an IHG - so twice the price for the same experience. The location is excellent and directly off the highway and by an outlet mall.

Terribly unhelpful and rude management and staff. Rooms and cleanliness are adequate, at best. I've stayed several times (only hotel in the area with jetted tubs) and and a few times times linens and towels have been dirty and a couple of times the room has been dirty. As for the management, they're rude and unhelpful and unwilling to help when they've made a mistake. There's a reason this hotel is cheaper and has frequent police patrols. Safety is definitely a concern here.
