Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sweetwater, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (702)
The palace was great for what we needed. Small little town. We love it. The staff was helpful and courteous. Thank you team. Next time we are in the area, this will be the place for us. We are from Bradenton Florida.. The room was a little smelly and the shower could use a better shield. The water was spilling out to the floor and that could be a safety hazard. Besides that, all good. Breakfast nice coffee is excellent. Thank you to the ladies that prepare our breakfast.
Let me just say this is the most nicest hotel I have stayed in and what I mean by that is the workers here. They are super nice and friendly and understanding. They go above a beyond for there guest. The rooms are very clean and nice. The bathroom has bottle of shampoo and conditioner which is so nice there not little bottles eaither so it's helpful when you don't have them. The pool is nice and indoors. They have a little bit of toys for the kids to play with and a life jacket for your little ones. They also have an amazing breakfast and they have a nice laundry room and snack and soda station you can buy so that's nice to. I would definitely recommend them and would stay again!
The first room was musty, and we would have wound up with colds, allergy reactions, or sinus infections. They moved us to another room, which was better. This hotel is sad, tired, and not representative of the Holiday Inn brand. Having stayed in many IHG hotels, here's our take-away from this one. The pillows were good, and it was a quiet location. The breakfast was not good, the pancake maker was broken, the mattresses were lumpy (not typical of IHG), the tub had been recaulked too many times, the hallway carpets were very stained, and the staff at best was indifferent. The hotel seemed unrated for. I would not recommend this hotel.
I guess this is a 2.5 rating. Room was ok. Hotel is in need of desperate renovations. Not what you expect of Hilton brands at any level. Every booth in the dining area was pealing or cracking. Most of the employees minus an elderly lady that checked us in were kind, but dressed unprofessionally. One lady was wearing only a white men’s undershirt, but was doubling as a front desk agent and housekeeping. She had a cart the night before, but was at the front desk in the morning. We noticed both employees taking multiple smoke breaks outside of the hotel together. Also, many of their employees seemed to have their relatives eating breakfast in the lobby. My husband commented that it seemed like they had invited their friends and family to eat the leftovers from breakfast. I don’t know what is going on at this Hilton, but someone from corporate should take a look. Stay was August 2024. We won’t be back and this is one of the only hotels in the area closest to my daughter’s new home.
Nice place, but our hotel room smelled like smoke (we are non-smokers). Pool was closed for cleaning and that was one of our reasons for picking this hotel. Breakfast was cold and there was still over an hour left before breakfast ended. Overall they had good choices. There was no pancake mix left and the food in the warmers was cold.
I stayed in this Holiday Inn Express in late May 2024. It's old and needs refurbished. We slept OK but woke up with ants in the bed, on the counters tops and crawling on the floor. I took pictures and a video. I showed them to the front desk person (Shelly or maybe Shiela). She offered no apology or restitution. The bathroom had mold or mildew in multiple locations. They did not send me a link for a review which usually happens. The breakfast was pretty good.
My stay was a complete disappointment. You expect a certain level of quality from IHG, but this is by far the worst HIE I have ever seen. The only thing that save the day are their employees, very nice people. This is the reason for the two stars. Furniture is old, ran out of hot water at one time, old treadmill was out of service, only one dumbbell available, pancake machine not functioning, etc. For a IHG hotel, this one is really bad. Please step up, replace chairs, renovate the gym, just basic stuff. Please.
People really need to check the reviews before they book. I make a mistake by trusting the brand. They are right, the room is awful, smell, old dental floss on the floor, stain on the wall, rusted faucet and flies in your room? OMG! Stay away even for a short night. Highly NOT recommended. IHG cooperate, you should send someone revise this Hotel. 2/10 score. If you are not serious with the review, why even bother running the business

Our guide Eli was very fun and informative! I felt so bad though that he had to do this multiple times a day. The trek back is not easy lol. You enter and exit through a giant yellow tube! The lake is much bigger than I expected, and startlingly deep
