Holiday Inn Express & Suites Springfield, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (631)
Great Location. just a few restaurants to choose from...you won't starve but you won't be overwhelmed by variety. The bed was fairly uncomfortable. Very firm. The staff was very friendly and helpful even though we really didn't need much. There was no satellite. if we ever come back probably will stay in the Crowne Plaza (want to have a more comfortable mattress when I'm on vacation). Overall a 3/5
Second time staying here. Last time the lobby was really dirty. This time my room was dirty. We had new sheets delivered. The beds were not what I usually expect from a Holiday inn Express. Not very comfortable. I’ll find somewhere else to stay next time. I’m very brand loyal. This was one of the five worst Holiday Inn express I’ve stayed at
Once a year, I make a road trip to Arkansas from the Chicago area and back, and usually overnight at the Springfield Crowne Plaza on the way back. The HI Express and Suites is right next door to the CP, was priced considerably lower, so I though it would give it a try. ||You get what you pay for. Gym and Pool? Yep, but you have to run the gauntlet and get a pass at the Crowne Plaza next door. Ripped wallpaper and torn and frayed carpeting in the hallways-the Express &Suites definitely needs a makeover. Bed was clean; floor and surrounds in bathroom needed a thorough cleaning-it was filthy. Apparently the hardworking maintenance staff missed the many months expired elevator inspection certificates posted in the elevators themselves-not a good sign. The complimentary breakfast was better than most. Probably won't try it again.
Positive: Great location, easy to get to main attractions. Negative: We didn't need housekeeping services and had stuff spread out, so I put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door handle. Later, there was a note from housekeeping telling us we had to have housekeeping stop by. Never had that before and found it annoying.
I was disappointed to find out after a 7 hour car ride that we couldn't use the pool, hot tub, or massage chairs due to an event at the connecting hotel. We should've been offered a discount on our room for the inconvenience. Our room was not even close to the Holiday Inn standards we were used to. The tile floor was dangerously slippery with some greasy film. We were told housekeeping would fix it right away. No one ever came up. Then we couldn't take showers because some of the towels had a substance on them. The carpeting was so dirty I didn't take my shoes off until bedtime. It was definitely a let down.
This room opened my eyes, not all IHG are equal. Should have read the reviews first. This place is truly disgusting. Random hairballs in my room, sticky tile floor, dust piled up in carpet corners, stained carpet, just gross. So disgusting I skipped on breakfast. I was so ripped off. IHG should be ashamed of this junker hotel. On top of this, my room smelled like vomit and you cant open windows. Alarms going off at 1AM. The loyalty program no more, I will now shop around knowing IHG let this $hithole through the cracks, I am sure there are more out there. Owners do not care. Simple as that and clearly evident when you enter the doors.
We stayed here the night before the eclipse-4/7/24. We came from Rockford, and due to the price gouging going on, Springfield was the closest we could get to Carbondale without paying ridiculous prices. The man at the front desk (I think his name was Anthony) remembered us from 6 years ago when we stayed one night! Double queens were booked, so we got a king with sofa bed, which was fine, I knew they were probably booked solid. I asked for bedding for the sofa bed, and got it within minutes. Anthony and the rest of the staff really know how to treat people. We were treated like they wanted us there, and everyone had a smile. The hotel is very clean, and I couldn't believe how comfortable my bed was. I slept soundly through the night and I never do that at hotels. Never! I'm usually up every half hour, flipping from side to side, in pain. This is definitely where we will stay when we drive down again.
Stayed here for the SW air miles. It's about what you would expect. Staff was very friendly and that goes a long ways. The breakfast is exactly the same as any other Holiday Inn, so if that's your thing, enjoy if not- skip it. Room was adequate. However, the hotel is in need of some TLC, it was just grimy. Floors had stains room was grimy and the mini fridge leaking all over the ground.

The employees working when we arrived on 01/17, late afternoon, were absolutely amazing. There was an issue with the dates with our online reservation (my fault) and they were beyond patient and helpful to the best of their ability. I also witnesse
The room was big and spacious it was well as clean. The breakfast tasty but average. Less food than other Best Westerns. The assistant manager and owners did not know how to redeem the promotional gift card from the program that Best Western began a
I love this place ! Just have one minor complaint; they recently got rid of jalapeños and stopped cutting their veggies into smaller pieces - so the chunks are bigger. I usually add jalapeños when I get home and cut my veggies.
Nice people, great coffee (that they roast themselves) and a relaxing atmosphere! They have more than just vanilla for sugar free syrups too! The sugar free white chocolate was yummy. The cream cheese Danish was fresh, tasty and enough for 2 to share
This is an old city experience that reminded me of neighborhoods in old east coast cities like Boston or Philadelphia. It's a quiant neighborhood bar and restaurant with the atmosphere of a 90 year old place that hasn't changed very much. Loved it. T
Delicious ½Ponyshoe Hamburger. Then I couldn't resist the Turtle Cheesecake. Stuffed but happy. Waitress was an absolute delight. I took a picture outside before I went in. I didn't rush out of the truck and I took the next picture of the food sitti
I came here for the first time and it was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles. They were great. Our waitress also did a really good job, even with it being busy.
