Holiday Inn Express & Suites Petersburg/Dinwiddie, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Petersburg - 5679 Boydton Plank Rd, USA

Ordered an accessible room. The room didn't have a shower chair. I'm clueless how this room was considered accessible. When the front desk was questioned about a chair, I was told it's accessible because it's on the first floor. Understand something the bed was accessible and there was a peephole at wheelchair height, but I couldn't take a shower. My husband was willing to hold me up, but I didn't feel safe, with good reason because when my husband showered, he slipped getting into the shower because the slip strips were wore away. A card in the room said if I wasn't 100% satisfied let them know. Well, I did and the only thing I got was "sorry about that ".

Stayed at this property for a softball world series tournament. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the staff was extremely kind and helpful! Shoutout to Emily for being especially kind and accommodating for our group! The pool is also nice; the gym was closed during our visit. No laundry on site but there is a laundry mat less than a mile down the road. The only thing I would like to note for improvement is the low water pressure in the rooms, shower and sink. We would stay here again!

Marsha at the front desk was very helpful when I booked a room for my husband. The staff was very nice and able to accommodate his request for an early check-in as he needed to change for a funeral after a long drive. My husband said everyone was very pleasant. He was very happy with his hotel room. He said it was clean, quiet and comfortable.

Hotel is nice enough and the rooms are perfectly clean. Reason for the negative review is that I left a $200 electric toothbrush there (yes, totally my fault), and despite calling them the next day to see if they had it, they kept telling me for a week to check back later with housekeeping. Finally today a staff person tells me that they’d never have kept it and would have thrown it away immediately. So, just be sure you don’t leave anything there. You won’t get it back.

Positive: Great room, front desk attendant, needs a raise. Negative: Breakfast was great except hot items all contained Meat - no hot items for vegetarians --or not even not pork. Seasoned potatoes would have been nice or even plain gravy (without meat) for the biscuits. Non-vegetarians can still use the gravy w/o meat.

I loved the personalities of the desk staff! That being said, the room service only comes when they feel like it. Even after being asked to clean and get towls. If you miss their 15 min window, they come back and hand you towels and say they have to go. I only had the room cleaned one morning in the 5 nights I was there. The bathroom had cleanliness issues and it wasn't in the best shape. I wanted to love the hotel because of the front desk ladies, but the housekeeping is very poorly run.

Front desk, and breakfast staff are on point with customer service. There is lots of room for improvement with the cleaning and maintenance department. Two main areas are in communication and more attention to details. Most of us have OCD.
