Holiday Inn Express & Suites Peekskill-Lower Hudson Valley, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Peekskill - 2 John Walsh Blvd, USA

One of the better Holiday Inn Express experiences we’ve had. Stayed here with my two young adult sons. Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was clean and beds were comfortable, except the pull out sofa was typical thin mattress that allowed you to feel all the metal bars beneath. And the metal frame under the queen beds had a metallic groan when you moved around on them. But the breakfast was very good for a free hotel breakfast. And the location was convenient with lots of food choices close by. Would stay here again.

The hotel has an outdated appearance and an unpleasant odor. Although it's conveniently located near many restaurants, provided you have a car, the complimentary breakfast was disappointing, with limited options and food that tasted like it came straight from a can. Additionally, there were no toothbrushes or toothpaste provided in the room; you have to request these items from the front desk.

I called and paid for a room. When I arrived the receptionist checked me in and she was very provocative and then took $294.76¢ from my credit card and when I asked her why the amount was more than the amount on the bill she responded with a mocking tone that there is something called a tax so I told her that the price is written and the tax is also written and the amount she took was exactly $49.99¢ more so she said that is for the guarantee and we will return it as soon as you leave then She asked for my driver's license and after that she said your reservation is correct but there are no rooms available so I told her I want any room no need for it to be two beds I am alone she said there is no room so I asked her then why did you take the money from the card. You have to return it, she said I can't then she talked about increasing the price to give me what she called a sweet and when I refused to pay more she said I can't do anything for you you just have to be awake at 7 am for someone to call you to return your money I told her I am tired and it is now almost 3 am and I might be asleep at that time she replied rudely do you want your money I told her yes she said then you have to answer the call I asked her for a bill or an email or any proof that I did not get the room so they don't say later that I did not show up or that it was my fault, She refused to cooperate in any way and after our voices started to rise I decided to go out and call management and report the problem and the rude racist treatment. Although the problem has not been resolved yet but I thank the people who answered the phone at IHG Army Hotels Five Star Inn for their high-class treatment and effort in trying to solve the problem it is true that they are the ones who told me to go to this hotel but who knew what would happen. And at 8 am I went there because no one called me and I met a respectable man who works there and he said that the money might take a few days due to bank transactions but he returned it, it is true that the money has not been returned yet but the difference in treatment between the night worker and the morning employee is incomparable, so much so that as soon as I left I almost cancelled writing the review but I decided to write what happened to avoid the same with others and so that the hotel management knows if this is happening without their knowledge. They should modify the website so that it does not allow booking more than the number of rooms or teach the employees to check before taking people's money.

While the service is great. I noticed just a little while after my stay that the rooms (I'm assuming all rooms with windows) are infested with Ladybugs. While Ladybugs are cute, I really don't want them crawling all over the curtains and ceiling. Flying all around. I say all the rooms with windows because it's not just my room but the windows in the halls as well. How has no one else noticed this? They need to do something to keep the ladybugs out. Seal the windows better. It's nerve wracking staying in the room.

Room 429 had a very noise AC fan. Breakfast was better than other hotels in the area. The pool was OK . Wish they had a hot tub.

Positive: Nice room. Negative: Problem with the shower temperature. It was scalding hot and had to take a bird bath every morning. Thought it was fixed but the temperature kept coming out hot. Negative: ""

The property was really easy to get to. It was very clean inside and out the only downfall was the pool was out of order and we didn't find out until we got there. Our room was pretty dusty. My son ended up having an allergy flare-up ( he's allergic to dust) other than that breakfast was good, the staff was really friendly. My only suggestion is to update the TV for a bigger screen and newer furniture in the room
