Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Castle, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in New Castle - 2732 W State St, USA

Daughter, a RN student had some time off to go play. We decided to ride the Mines & Meadows ATV park. Had a blast.Loves the mine tour. H.I. was close and convenient, great breakfast, pleasant employees, clean room. Would stay again and recommend for a overnight need near New Castle!

We were traveling up from Texas and had a very stressful travel. The staff here helped us get to our rooms and when we needed to leave loaded us up with as much water as we wanted. The breakfast was good, I really like the cheese omletes and the oatmeal. The pancake maker is a little strange but I didn't think it was a problem. If we're ever driving through this area again this will be our regular stop.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Isabella at the front desk was unable to figure out how to charge the corporate rate for my stay as I was travelling for work. I let her know at check in and was told to remind her at checkout stating she will be here because she has "a sleeping bag in back" and would still be there when I left. She promised to call me when she still could not figure it out and would refund my payment and charge the correct rate. I attempted to resolve the matter with several calls including to the manager Mary Ann Hesse who refused to speak with me, so I involved guest relations who acted as a mediator. After several calls to corporate and 6 hours of my life, Mary Ann "stands fast" at refusing to adjust the rate so I can submit for reimbursement as I "should have made sure it was taken care of at check in". How am I out several hours and hundreds of dollars due to staff incompetence? And the manager is not only refusing to correct the situation but is refusing to speak with me.

Do not leave anything here. I left a sentimental item in my rook and went to get it a couple days earlier they said they searched for days and couldn't find it it was either stolen by the maid or left in the room and taken by another guest I asked foe it to be replaced and they just ignored me. Contacted management they couldn't help me get the item replaced. Contacted guest relations and corporate and still have yet to get the item replaced its been a few weeks and now they are not responding back at all like wow how unprofessional.

Walked into the lobby and it reeked of marijuana. Also a lot of odd passive aggressive signs about smoking. Had to change rooms because our original booked room was dirty. Second room we went to was also dirty. Bathroom reeked from the hallway. Hair was all over the sink and shower. We were exhausted and didn't want to change rooms again. Ironically the person who allegedly cleaned that room left a note about who cleaned it lol Housekeeping came up to help at 1 am and did a wonderful job sterilizing the bathroom for us. Different person came to clean.Provided extra towels and wash cloths and topped off all the soaps and lotions. Luckily in the second room they at least changed the bed before we entered. Breakfast was ok. coffee was terrible (tasted oddly like burnt water). Fruit was kinda old. Sausages were on point and so were the biscuits. Eggs were iffy looking.

I booked a room online and missed the first day of my three day reservation due to a family emergency that delayed my trip. When I called to check on my room status, Isabella said that because I didn't show up that she gave my reserved room to someone else. I was also informed that the hotel was fully booked and she couldn't offer me another room and that I was STILL BEING CHARGED FOR THE ROOM at FULL PRICE FOR THREE DAYS! So I canceled my trip entirely. I will never use a Holiday Inn again.

Long time Visitor to New Castle , PA . Best hotel in the city limits. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The waiting area and workout room , common areas were clean and tidy. We will be back for sure.

Positive: Free breakfast Negative: Poor room service, bathroom toilet bowl was not installed properly and was lose and wobbly. Hotel was fully booked so there were no options to change the room.
