Holiday Inn Express & Suites Merrillville, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Merrillville - 8460 Mississippi St, USA

I came with a friend and everything at this hotel was wonderful. We were there from Wednesday to Friday. The breakfast was the best. I've been to other hotels but the area is not always tidy. This breakfast area was really clean. Also the young lady, Latasha, that made our breakfast was funny, delightful and a joy to talk to. She was the sweetest person and her cooking was delicious. My friend and I are still talking about the bacon and eggs that we had. The bacon was cooked to perfection for me. I would visit this hotel again just for the breakfast. We will be in the area again in a couple of months and will be staying at this hotel. It was amazing! Also the rooms were the cleanest compared to a lot of the hotels where we have stayed.

My husband & I were greeted as we walked in with a smile & super easy check in. Hubby was impressed with snacks available & just adding the price to our room tab. Oversized elevators made it easy to maneuver the luggage carts. Hotel appears new, great modern decor throughout. Large shower with full size DOVE products mounted in the shower were fabulous! KING room was spacious with lots of lights & charging stations. We had a chaise that my husband loved. Really nice bedding & pillows topped out a great two night stay. Oh, breakfast was hot & fresh as well😋 We were in & out a bunch always welcomed with a smile. Tons of shopping & restaurants within minutes

Everything from beginning to end was great at this hotel! Gift bags with snacks and water provided upon entering. The guest services employee insured we were not above somebody due to our four year old. The beds are comfortable the rooms are up to date and clean. Wide variety of breakfast items. The pool is always clean and warm. We love coming to this hotel!

The best part of the stay was meeting Keith, the front desk worker! He was kind, intuitive and his customer service was second to none!! Keith had a beautiful smile and a way with words that was captivating! He made the stay so much more comfortable and for this reason I believe he should be the face of your advertisement! He was so sweet and made sure that everything was up to par!!! Thanks Keith for being an amazing human being!!!! We will see you again!!

The hotel is very clean and inviting when you enter. The front desk staff was so kind and professional they could easily have been working at an upscale hotel. My room was great. Large, clean, comfortable and quiet. Thank you!

We stayed two nights over the weekend. First, our GPS did not do a great job in locating the actual entrance to the hotel. You need to turn at the light before you get to the hotel (E 83rd Ave) and proceed down Indiana St to be able to access the parking lot. There was plenty of parking available. Check in/out was slower but okay, no real issues. Our room was comfortable and overall quiet (there was a little noise in the hallway but it didn't last). The biggest disappointment was breakfast. They do not start service until 7:30am on the weekend. With our plans for the day this was too late for us to be able to stay and eat breakfast here. There were other small things that just made this an average stay, they do service the rooms each day and restocked the coffee for the little machine in the room but they only stocked decaf. Some of the lights didn't work in the room and overall the lighting seemed dim in the room. Overall, my stay was okay, I would stay here if the price was okay otherwise I would probably try somewhere else.

We were called into town for a family members passing. My family is somewhat spread out in the center of the United States. Plans were made, dates confirmed, and off we went. Somehow when I had booked, I had booked the wrong dates. We were able to get our reservation moved. I cannot thank the hotel staff for helping us out in our time of need. From my dad and his "people skills" to my mom and short walks that are needed the staff knew exactly what we needed. Where the elevator was close to our room, so my mom would not need a break half-way down the hall. My family cannot say enough good things about our stay there. Breakfast in the morning, quiet place for mom to lay down when needed, and close to the main road used to get us back and forth to the funeral home. Thank you for being a bright light in such a dark family moment.

I enjoyed the great breakfast they had and I enjoyed the clean bathroom, turn the lights on in the room . The lights were cool. My bf and I had a great time together and the view of the sky was nice. Sleeping on the bed was very relaxing, the only thing I didn’t like was the constant stopping of the fan in the room when it was on
