Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marion, an IHG Hotel - Featured Reviews (873)
I can honestly say this place saved a long planned family vacation for 13! We needed 7 rooms and had recently found out that a booking made for an entire home at another local resort (paid for in full a year ago) , had been cancelled on us due to the resort overbooking. We were so shocked and disappointed and worried our trip would have to be cancelled. Last minute options were extremely limited for the 2024 eclipse. We were relieved to get rooms in a single hotel, but we had no idea what to expect. We had never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. ||We were thrilled with the result! The rooms were bigger than average, fully refurbished and had plenty of space to lay out multiple suitcases, a closet to hang plenty, a mini kitchen area with a decent sized mini fridge and microwave and some shelf space to store food on. It even had a little entry area with a shelf to easily drop (and find!) your keys on each day. That was a nice touch! The bed was comfortable and also had a desk, side chair, sofa and coffee table. We had no problem with noise even though we happened to get a room directly across from the elevator. Bathroom was large and shower was great. It looks like a fixed head, but there is a switch on the right side to select different types of water streams. ||The personnel were outstanding. The front desk clerks (wish I had made note of their names) went above and beyond to help our group have space to socialize on our own, offering us a meeting room for meal time and game play. They were proactive in this regard, we truly appreciated their effort and attention. ||There are lots of eating areas close by and parking, despite it being a very busy weekend, was never a problem. ||The only thing that was a bit off (probably due to it being so full) was that they didn't have enough card keys to offer each room two cards and one of our rooms with four people in it couldn't get a fourth set of towels. But, we were able to give them one from within our group. I would not worry about this happening normally, we were there at a very busy time. ||I'd definitely stay here again and will now look for Holiday Express hotels for future visits during travel.
Rolled into this hotel on the last day of vacation. Had to change rooms because the first one smelled of weed. The front desk staff were great and moved right away to another room. I don’t blame the hotel or staff for the weed smell, it’s not their fault and it’s a thankless job of having to clean up after it. My only complaint about the hotel was that the bed was a bit too firm for my wife and I. It really messed with her sleep especially with the pillows not being the greatest. Regardless the breakfast was good and it was a good location. I’d stay here again if in the area.
Surprisingly, this hotel was not bad at all. There was ample parking, a lobby with free breakfast and computer center available if needed. We had the two queen suite. The tv was a nice size plus sofabed. I really like the desk and chair area too. There's tons of restaurants nearby. There is a pool, but for some reason, it felt like a sauna in there. It was already hot outside, I didn't want to be in a warm indoor pool. The only reason why I'm giving a rating of 3 stars is because of two complaints. The walls were too damn thin. We could hear the people next to us very clearly! Thankfully there wasn't anything intimate going on, but there was a party happening, and it was just too loud - not the music, it was the voices! We were in room 223, so thankfully we were near to the elevators. We didn't even hear when people were out by the elevators, but I could clearly hear the guests next to us. Secondly, the bathroom includes bath/shower products plus hand soap and lotion, which is a plus, because that's provided less thing to pack. However, the toilet was too low! My 70-year old mother and I are both 5'4. She recently had knee and hip surgery, so she decided to squat over the toilet. I sat but hurt my knees using the toilet. Thankfully, my husband didn't come. He's 6'4, he would have had a very hard time. They need to install bars next to the toilet. Also the tub floor was slippery - again, mother with recent hip and knee surgery... that was not good!
Very quiet and clean. Lots of local restaurants to choose from. My room had plenty of comfortable lighting, well adjustable HVAC (which worked amazing), and lots of electrical outlets above the nightstand for easy charging of multiple devices. Snacks & drinks are sold downstairs but pricey compared to the cost of room. A very pleasant experience and will stay again. This will likely be my new go-to. It’s a great accommodation with plenty of in-room amenities including iron, ironing board, lotion, and quality body wash & shampoo. Very happy with my stay. The guest is definitely a priority in room comfort and ease of amenities.
I wanted to love here but I didn't. The bed was the worst thing on earth. I'm a loyal ihg member and I was upgraded to a king suite. I was super excited. To my disappointment the room was soooooo dirty. There was snot looking stuff on the wall, the sink wouldn't drain, and my desk lamp didn't work so I had to sit in the dark while I worked. It was just so upsetting overall. I called ihg to make it right but still trying to warn anyone coming here, go somewhere else. I will say, the staff was very nice though. I liked them alot.
First room they gave us we walked in and it was not cleaned yet. When we went back to the front desk and told the young lady and she said that room had been cleaned. I had to explain to her that there was towels on the floor, pee in the toilet, and messy beds. The second room you can tell it was half cleaned. The bathroom floor has long black hairs all over it and unidentified brown crumbs. The bathroom counter had not been wiped and was full of finger prints and dripping water marks. Makes me wonder are the bed sheets even cleaned??? 🤢Also has the hardest beds I’ve ever slept on. It’s equivalent to sleeping in a floor!
We were impressed with the large rooms. Front desk staff was awesome. They were great when part of our party had to check in at 4 am. They also made sure our 2nd room on the 2nd night was right next door to the first room. We were in town for a funeral, so they fact that they were so accommodating made a rough weekend a bit better.
Like others- cancelled our reservation. Unlike others- manager failed to send cancellation notice. We drove 10 hours all to SLEEP IN THE CAR. Nothing available for 60 miles. Could have at least offered that we could attend breakfast. Could have at least offered that we could use the pool area for a shower. One man overbooked but they wouldn’t give us that room for our booked rate- instead we’d have to Venmo that guy $500 to stay there. While the general manager and the assistant manager were comfortable in their beds, they let the poor clerk tell us the news. Corporate checked- yes, the manager canceled it herself. All to resell at 500 a night. This practice is allowed and corp does not care. We have no rights against it. Do not trust any IHG hotel no matter how high your club membership is!!!!

I LOVED my stay here. I work at a hotel, and enjoy getting to be a guest every once in a while, and you guys knocked it out of the park! Check in was very quick, and Devon (I think was his name? Sorry I didn't get it!) made the whole process go smoot
I was refered to RTS Sports by Doug Phelps and glad I was. Michael greeted me as I walked in the door. He was polite and listened to my needs and concerns with the shoes issues I have faced recently. We analyzed my feet and went from there to picking
A really cool spot to hangout, a great ending to my girls night out! The bar tender was attentive and the atmosphere is welcoming. Tried a new beer as well, as the bartender said "It's like a Blue Moon but better", I'm converted, haha. Really great p
Lots of creative and delicious treats. Cupcakes, cookies, macaroons and more. A little on the pricey side, but worth it. Especially the Espresso Macaroons. It was really nice inside, but a little crowded around lunchtime.
Pretty holiday designed cake just as I ordered but sadly I wasn't given a plastic knife like all other customers who ordered cakes. Oh well next time. The cake is well worth it. I've been buying Larry's cakes for many years and have never been disapp
BEST LITTLE RESCUE EVER! I have adopted 2 dogs from them and it was such an easy, smooth process. Plus they get to visit with them at yearly vaccination time.
For the most part, I enjoyed walking around. I am looking at different things. I will say that there are multiple individuals that have stuff for sale there, so they have little areas to put their stuff. I'll also say that some people have their stuf
This is the best version of local Mexican food I've found. The food is consistently good, the service is top notch and the staff is super nice. Thank you for having a great place!
Love this place for lunch. They have a buffet, it always has a nice variety of food. My favorite is the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, creamed corn and brown gravy. The service here is top notch and the food is always prepared amazing.
