Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Atkinson, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Fort Atkinson - 1680 Madison Ave, USA

Our stay at the Holiday Inn was very nice. We opted for the whirlpool suite for a special treat. The room was spacious and clean. The lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Upon check in the staff was very friendly. We were there for a wedding and forgot to book in the wedding block and they remedied that right away and give us the special rate. The pool was closed, which may have been a bummer if we were there longer and didn't have the suite. It did not give a reason or how long it would be closed, just an apology on the door.

Positive: Front desk m\Manager was awesome, handling our every request! We had a family wedding and several families staying at the hotel and he showed the same wonderful courtesies to all of us! Kudos!! Negative: Not a thing! Also, hotel eemployee in the kitchen area was also the most pleasant and sweet person, going out of her way to please everyone! Kudos again!!

Great updated room..they're obviously remodeling..we were on freeway side but it wasn't terribly loud..the staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was good, need to get rid of saccharine though- no body uses it and I appreciate Splenda or equal..luckily I had my own. If your going to Fireside Theater tell them for duscount!

The gentleman that checked me in was super friendly, fast & efficient. Exactly what guests need when traveling. Room was super clean & big. Comfortable bed & pillows. Right off the freeway. In the morning I walked out of my room without my key, left my coffee in the fridge. Lady at the desk was helpful in getting me back in my room, quickly. The only complaint is the back hallway stairs had a odd, strong smell, unsure what it was.

I've stayed here twice for work. Stayed two weeks per visit. The staff makes it very pleasant to be there. Everyone is glad to help with whatever you may need. They always make me feel at home away from home. The beds are really comfortable. The tvs are also new. Showers have great water pressure as well. Which is a big deal for me.

We used to stay here quite a few years ago when we had season tickets to the dinner theatre in town but hadn't been back in quite a while. I booked 2 rooms since we were seeing the play with our daughter and family. We were promptly greeted by the front desk staff, quickly checked in, and got the connecting rooms I had requested on the top floor. Hotel is mostly remodeled but they are working yet on the 1st floor. They kept everything very clean in the construction area. My only complaint would be that the breakfast staff needed more help. The hotel was full and she simply couldn't keep up with the number of people eating at the same time. I would suggest that other staff check in and see if they could help when this happens.

There was no sign to tell where you were going to hotel from the parking lot on building or road. G M said there were signs on the other 3 sides of the building, but that didn't help us. They had just put in new carpeting on the first floor which was very nice. Our King size bed was very nice but VERY hard to get into, and I am fairly tall, GM again said the beds are new and puffy and ask for a step stool next time. I thought he was kidding but they have given them to other people to use. Hot tub/spa was great. The Breakfast was very delicious and Linda and June were very helpful. It was fun to make the one-minute pancakes. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed seeing Titanic the musical at the Fireside theater.

I don't do the "whole" hotel experience, meaning I don't use pools or gyms even if they are available. I am usually on a business trip and by the time I get back to my room, I just want to crash. So being able to moderate the temperature, lighting and move around comfortably in my room is a must. Add to that a comfortable bed, clean bathroom (with a tub), Internet and a great breakfast selection and those are my must have's. I want to relax, read a Kindle book and don't even care if the TV works. A bonus is always a coffee maker, microwave and refrigerator for those restaurant doggie bags :-) This location is near a good selection for food choices. So yes, this Holiday Inn Express was again perfect for my needs and I will be back next time through!
