Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clemson - Univ Area, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Clemson - 1381 Tiger Blvd, USA

The staff was kind but unfortunately the rooms are in serious need of deep cleans. My bathroom had copious amounts of mold on the ceiling and wallpaper and when the AC unit was turned on, it reeked of mold and mildew. The rooms walls were very dirty with marks, scuff and hand prints. I did let the staff know so hopefully it has been cleaned but won't be choosing this location again.

One of the cleanest and best maintained Hotels that we have stayed in. And about to be totally renovated. Rosa in breakfast area treated it like her home. Well stocked and clean.

Positive: Room was beautiful and clean. Morning staff was nicer than evening staff. Breakfast was fantastic for a hotel breakfast. Chobani yogurt, cereal, eggs and little cheese omelets, pancakes, packages danishes, cinnamon rolls, bagels, biscuits and gravy. ¿ Negative: The walls were thin. I heard people out on the deck late yelling and laughing. Then again when they were loudly coming off the elevator. Otherwise, everything was perfect. Negative: ""

It was my first time at this location, and I loved where it was located, in the middle of everything I needed when I needed it. It was quiet and the beds were so comfy. The room was just right with all the privacy we could ask for. I loved how it was easy for any take-out delivery and awesome complimentary breakfast in the morning. I would definitely come back again soon and the only bummer was the pool being out at the time but hopefully when we come back soon 😊😊

We went with friends for a short overnight stay to see a baseball game. The hotel was very clean and the staff was super friendly. I was impressed with the amenities that were in the bathrooms. The full size shampoo, conditioner and bodywash dispensers with Dove in them was a nice surprise. The breakfast was a full hot buffet with eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits & gravy and pancakes among other things. We will for sure stay if we are ever that way again.

The hotel is not easily visible from the main road but as soon as you look toward the entrance of the drive you can see it. The room (120) was very clean (obviously we should do our own disinfecting-I think this is normal practice for all). We had no desire to get up early so we did not get to experience breakfast. We arrived around 11pm & the parking was rather full & no matter the spot they were all very tight & this was the ONLY drawback. Lovely place to stay & awesome staff. Thank you!

The photos say enough, but I’ll give the rest of the story. I have stayed in this hotel many times in the past. Last Friday, November 3, 2023, was the first time I stayed here in two years. This property and the service have declined severely. When booking the room (by phone with the hotel staff), I was given several rates, the final rate being an IHG Member rate, which was NOT honored. A man who identified himself as the manager called me the next morning to cancel my reservation (two days before my check-in) because I didn’t want to stay two nights on a game weekend to only admit he didn’t realize the two night minimum no longer was required. What I found insulting is the fact he acted as though he was doing me favor to charge me $829 per night (with tax) to stay here. I know it’s a game weekend, but it’s a two star hotel. Upon check-in, we were sent down to the first floor (basement) for our room. The floor smelled musty. The sofa in the room was covered in stains as was the carpet (note pic where I moved the lamp). The outlet in the bathroom wasn’t working and poorly covered by electrical tape. The worst was the bed - THE SHEETS WERE DIRTY!! They had a stain and hair in them (see the pics). When I called the front desk, the night clerk couldn’t believe that happened and came down to change the bed sheets. I submitted a review to IHG after receiving an email Sunday. The survey said a manager would contact me about concerns - that never happened. I know Clemson hotels are expensive on game weekends. However, for the price, the room should at least be spotless, even for a two star hotel.
