Stayed here 2 nights for a girls trip. The hotel is in much need of updates and tlc. Our room smelled horrendous like food the whole time. The remote for the tv worked when it wanted to. The sink wouldn’t drain and when I pulled the plunger out it was covered in mold and all kinds of debris. The bathroom mirror was cloudy like it was cleaned with the wrong thing. The doors are so old you can hear them slamming all day and night. The front desk people were super nice and helpful. We didn’t eat the breakfast as I was scared of that or use the pool. The WiFi barely worked. The only good things about this hotel were the bed was comfy and clean, the front desk super nice, and the trolley was convenient. This place was definitely not worth the $250 a night we paid.

This is a great hotel if you are going to a baseball or football game. There is a shuttle/trolley with a stop at the hotel that leaves every 15 minutes. It takes you right downtown to the stadium (and several other places) and only costs $1. (See pics) We were there for a Reds (Cubs!) game and had bought a parking pass but would do the shuttle next time, especially for day games. |We had noisy (teenage) guests nearby who were talking loudly in the hall late at night. I asked them to go into their room once but later called the desk and they promptly came up and took care of it. |Room was clean and comfy with a fridge, microwave and small coffee maker. Breakfast was usual Holiday Inn Express fare and was well stocked.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! People working here have no concept of customer service. The place was very dirty and the pool was in major disrepair. The bottom was chipped dangerously and everything was covered with rust. The handrail was broken (to enter pool). There was scum floating in it and the heater is broken. The housekeepers spent a lot of time outside smoking instead of cleaning. There was 1 elevator and everyone was complaining about the long waits and how it acted as if it would break any minute. My room had not really been cleaned and I recleaned it because it creeped me out. The TV and Wi-Fi sucked. The breakfast was artificial scrambled eggs with or without American cheese slices on it and some thick disgusting gravy and dry biscuits and pink sausages that looked like jerky. Some stale cereal was available as well. There was a tiny amount in a small area for the whole hotel. The parking was very inadequate and the location was super sketchy. I was so disappointed and tried communicating with management but they did not care. They also ran my card twice double charging me and I have to wait on a dispute to get a refund. They completely did not care how I felt and I would never recommend anyone go there after this nightmare experience! I cannot believe that as awful as it was, I had to pay twice for the stay and have to wait on a refund! If they had competent people working there, this place would be better. Everything is fixable with the right management. There are also better places to stay nearby that are in better areas and are nicer. I found that out after leaving. Don’t waste your time or money here!

Hotel was clean and location was decent. WiFi was terrible, so if you like to do work in your room would not recommend. I was on second floor and could hear the people walking around above me, it was very loud. Room was big and clean with food places close by.

Great place to stay if you want to enjoy downtown Cincy without being downtown! This hotel is conveniently located across the river from downtown in Bellevue, KY (next door to Newport). There is an inexpensive shuttle that will take you over to downtown Cincinnati or a pedestrian bridge you can use about one mile (15 - 20 minute walk) from the hotel. The hotel observes "quiet hours" from 10pm - 6/7am. We had a standard 2 Queen room that was clean and tidy. Beds were above average. Complimentary breakfast is provided, which was fine. Note: There are state, city, and tourism taxes that added up to $24 (Don't know how that compares to staying downtown in Cincy). Finally, if you like baseball, this is a great spot to stay. You can shuttle over to Great American Ballpark while leaving you car at the hotel (saving $20-30 for parking).

We chose this hotel because it was close to Great American Ballpark and a decent price. Having shuttle or bus service right outside was great! We took it right to the ballpark. The hotel including our room was clean. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok. The first day, most everything was out when we arrived. She seemed to be trying to keep it filled but it would be gone as quickly as she could refill it. I was disappointed that the pancake machine didn’t work or so I thought. The second day, it was out again. This time I asked about it. She had to hand feed the mix into the machine. Odd but I was able to have pancakes. I felt bad giving her one more thing to do. My two complaints would be the room needs some upgrades, it still had some worn out feature like lack of,sound proofing from rooms above and next door…our bathtub looked dirty but it wasn’t. It was just old and seemed to be losing its finish. The door handle was very difficult to use. We, at first, thought our key didn’t work. The front desk came to help. She struggled with our key but her master opened it. Instead of pushing the handle down, it went up. Each time we opened it, we never knew if we should push it up or down. We just kept trying until it opened. It also felt stuck. It seemed as though the bolt lock would slip and make it difficult. When I mentioned it at the front desk, they said some were installed upside down?? Again, odd! My last complaint would be the front desk. They weren’t rude but not friendly. One did answer a few questions for us when we asked. Every time we came to the lobby, whoever was there was either standing at the desk or sitting in a chair somewhere near the desk and on their phones. We could walk through the lobby and no one even noticed we came through. They never lifted their eyes from their phones. Would we stay here again? Most likely even though it was an older hotel, it was clean and in a good location.

Great Location and Great Value If you want to be close to Cincinnati, but not right in Cincinnati, then this is the hotel to stay at. Just minutes across the river, also close to Newport and Covington riverfront. Walking distance to riverfront restaurants, large grocery store, and close to more restaurants and bars. Short ride to a Bengals or Reds game. We had a larger suite, we we had a lot of space with the two beds and sofa sleeper. Room was clean, with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Great room for a family. Breakfast was of par with other HI Express properties, so it was very good. Pancake machine even worked. Hotel had indoor pool, fitness room, and meeting rooms. A great stay.

Stayed for a Friday and Saturday night. The location of this hotel makes it desirable. It is super close to the Levee, the aquarium, great dining and highway access. |The front desk folks need to learn to be nice. If they are unhappy with their job; they should not be in the customer service industry. |We had several negative run ins with night time front desk employees that were rude, not helpful and just angry.|Simple request for more pillows was met with a response of “NO”. Trying to charge snack bar treats to our room was met with the response “again”.|Now to be fair, the room was great; big and clean. The food for breakfast was a nice spread and everything was fresh.|Sadly, I will not stay at this hotel again because there are many choices of hotels and if you can’t just be friendly and pleasant; you do not deserve my business.
