Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carthage, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Carthage - 2295 SE Loop, USA

Staff were friendly and helpful. First room a signed to me had lot of issues. Main one being that water started pouring out of sprinkler heads. Toilet didn’t flush properly. Rooms was ant infested. Ant in bathroom and in night stand. Had to spread coffee around in second room due to fear of them getting in the beds. Floors were not attached to base floor which was hazardous for me. I honestly feel like I should be compensated because no compensation offered after requesting new room. New room had the same issues minus the water. Was told that toilet on property just have issues.

We come every couple of months to see aging family and as choices go for this small town. This was the best and unfortunately it’s was a nice place to stay!! We had gotten to know some of the staff and we felt very welcomed. This last visit we were very surprised to learn that there is a new manager whom has either fired or the staff could not stand him and left which the changes he has made we hated and went next door to the Best Western who we discovered are also pet friendly I explained to the 2 front desk staff that we had always stayed at this hotel and couldn’t stand it anymore so the BW staff showed me around, showed me a room and I told them that we would for sure book at the BW next stay. I had originally given 5 stars to HI but after this weekend and how much Michael ( the new manager) had ran it down so much,so fast that I had to drop my stars down since we were so disappointed!!! They don’t even but the floor towel for the showers anymore!!!! I suggest looking at the BW next door.

My son and I drove down from Chicago and were exhausted and so happy to come across this property. From the friendly woman that checked us in (Nikki) to the amazingly comfy beds and clean rooms to the delicious breakfast this place has it ALL! Highly highly recommend this property and would be glad to stay here again!!

The only reason I'm giving this hotel a one is because zero is not an option. staff was friendly and apologetic but the room was terrible. there were ants all over the bathroom counter once I laid my things out. The air conditioner leaked all over the floor and had been leaking long enough to wear when you walked on the floor in the area water oozed up between the vinyl tiles. This is my third bad experience at this hotel and I am done. I will never stay there again.

We arrived on a dark, stormy night. The power went out, but it was so late that I was just looking for a bed. The power was out all throughout town, which is obviously out of the hotel’s control, but the staff still tried their best to accommodate guests. They provided flashlights and made themselves very approachable to any concerns.

Ok for a Holiday Inn Express. Don’t think it’s any better than the cheaper hotel next door or the Best Western. Musty smell in the hall, damp, humid yet cool in the rooms. Standard breakfast of premade omelette a bit they have yogurt and watery oatmeal. Danishes, coffee, toast and bagels all good.

Girl at the front desk when we checked in and out was rude. There was brown gunk in the shower and it didn’t drain at all! The ice machine on the second floor was in pieces and there was no warning or notice of it. The only edible thing at breakfast was the biscuits and the juice machine didn’t work and no one would help us. And they charged us $70 for incidents. What incident?? If you wanna charge someone for incidents, do it after they leave and if there’s an incident. NEVER STAYING HERE AGAIN!

Pretty terrible for a Holiday Inn. Pool is literally brown. Getting booked into a room seemed very disorganized. The hotel itself seems in disrepair. Peeling wallpaper, missing signs, so on. At $130/night, and being a Holiday Inn, I'm very disappointed.
