Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carlisle Southwest – I-81, an IHG Hotel - Hotel in Carlisle - 1501 Commerce Ave, USA

First time at this hotel but have stayed at surrounding hotels for years. 4 night stay. Hotel is new-ish. Rooms were pretty clean. Nothing fancy but thats ok. Requested non-highway side but didn’t get it. Noise was very very loud. Definitely keeps you up at night. Breakfast was mediocre at best. Had ice machines. Laundry. Fridge and microwave.

First off - I was checking in kind of late in the day and was very disorganized (not from the area and got a bit lost) and the front desk staff were SO nice and patient with me! Very friendly and kind. Loved them. Room was clean, quiet, and new. Bed very comfy. Bathroom is huge. Full length mirror outside of the bathroom is great. Room included mini fridge, microwave, wardrobe, iron, ironing board. Air conditioner was DELICIOUS. Not too loud. And icy cold. Loved that. Pool was impeccably clean, albeit tiny and I felt like a zoo animal with folks right there in the busy parking lot on the other side of the glass. But I had a nice time having enrichment in my enclosure. Breakfast was awesome. Lots of choices for omnivores and vegetarians alike, with many eat-now and takeaway options.

We had a wonderful stay. Hotel was very clean & everyone was friendly. Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast had alot of options & was fresh. Plenty of parking, close to downtown shopping. Will stay again when we travel back to carlisle in the future.

Where do I begin? Almost every surface I came across had some sort of stain. The ceiling of the elevator acts as a source of light as well as a trash can. I played hop scotch on the hallway rugs, attempting to land on a “clean” spot. The ceiling in our room had several crude patchwork areas from what I believe to be water stains. I call my husband the “Daredevil” because he is not afraid to take risks. He slept under the covers. Something I would not attempt. He also informed me the floors were sticky. I did not dare take off my shoes so I can’t vouch for this. We made this reservation weeks ago. We requested first floor away from elevators. We stayed on the third next to the elevators- thanks for fulfilling our request. Oh, and the TV did not work.

I really wanted to like this location but finding multiple stains which look like dried blood on both beds is just unacceptable. It’s a nice updated modern style holiday inn but the cleanliness and attention to detail is definitely lacking. The breakfast area was a mess, floor was super sticky and felt like someone dumped syrup on it. I sat at the breakfast bar by the window and it was really disturbing to see the amount of trash and old food that was on the floor. It looks like it just gets mopped over and never fully cleaned. All of the bananas are opened on the end which is really strange… oh and the clock in my room was all sorts of messed up (see video). It was comical that who ever cleaned the room signed their initials on the paper and put it under the broken clock 🫤

No issues whatsoever. Everything was as you would expect with a nice new hotel. Staff, cleanliness, breakfast, location, and other amenities were all good. No complaints! Would stay here again if passing through on I-81.

One of the best holiday inns I’ve stayed at. Felt safe as a solo traveler. Location is easy to get off/on freeway. Recently updated, rooms were spotless, staff was friendly.

Place is four years old and still has that new building smell. Cleaned room. Decent breakfast. Good value
