I strongly recommend avoiding the Hole in the Wall Hotel in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Our experience was disappointing due to the front desk staff's attitude and the condition of the room. There was a spider in the sheets, a musty smell, and the door did not shut properly, posing a risk for our toddler. The bathroom was very minuscule for how much our stay costed , and when we checked out, we were informed that the deposit would take 30 days to be returned, which was not mentioned in the paperwork. Despite following up with the hotel and bank, the deposit remained unreleased, and the desk clerk behaved inappropriately during our call which included cursing me out. This hotel does not meet expectations in terms of service or maintenance. It’s a dumpster fire that needs to be shut down permanently.

This hotel did not exceed my expectations. Hopper’s description of the location was not accurate because the hotel was not close at all to the blue water. Also, the night time front desk receptionist was not welcoming, friendly, or nice. We had to go into a tiny hot box in order to reserve the rooms, and we couldn’t hear him clearly due to the small speaker. He gave us our key cards, and one of the cards did not work. The hotel was clean when we first arrived, but after one day of staying there, two roaches appeared in the bathroom, and there was a bug crawling on the ceiling. The location of this hotel did not make me feel safe because it seemed like drug dealers were around at night. Overall, I feel like this hotel could be better with the description on Hopper, friendlier front desk receptionists, ensuring safety for guests, and spraying for roaches and bugs because no one wants to be in a hotel with bugs even though they’re everywhere. They have services for pests like roaches.

When I booked it showed all funds and fees included than get hit with $50 deposit. My door had like half inch gap at bottom of door. Had odd smell. Been almost 2 weeks still have not received the deposit back when I called they said all depends on your bank I have explained I booked a different hotel for Friday due to my boys AAA baseball team and then not being till 7:00 the hotel I booked Friday night return my deposit Sunday they just keep telling me it depends on the bank it depends on the bank even though I use the exact same card to pay for the other hotel. Still no refund and it's now July 10. I sent over everything they asked for and nothing. Plus didn't book Thur them was Thur tripavisor. My card said it's never show when it was refunded. They have a hold on it and have never released money. I would rather pay $100+ down street and guarantee my money back in a lot nice hotel embed a lot more comfortable wasn't like sleeping in the Stone age. I also turned in to the BBB and they city .

We loved this place spent 3 days and 2 nights, the bed was and the room was amazingly cleaned and the housekeeper were nice never took anything and I got my 50 dollars back 2 days back when I got home and I live out of town in ga. So I would totally recommend this place amazing service and great prices but the downfall is they gave us small pillows and a sheet no comforter and you have to pay for extra.

Good hotel for the price. Only downside was the people sleeping in their cars outside the rooms. There were at least 5 different vehicles with people loitering and sleeping in their cars in the parking lot right outside my door. I told the front office about this and the guy told me that they are “workers.” These same “workers” were kicking and sitting on my cooler, as well as talking very loudly and smoking weed right outside my room. The next morning I checked my cooler and saw that an ice pack had been stolen out of it and a fried chicken wrapper was placed inside the cooler where the ice pack was. Pretty low socio-economic class in this area and further cements stereotypes for these types of people.

Positive: The pool. Negative: Microwave, tv, and refrigerator didn't work. Toilet was clogged when we got in the room and slow to flush.

Smells like mold, cigarette smoke and strange chemicals that you can taste in your mouth... tried 3 different rooms and eventually left to stay in the hotel next door. Wouldn't refund us either.... hella sketchy

Clean rooms friendly staff. Only problem was ice machine was broken and waiting on the part. Pool nice and clean too. Quiet. Beds were comfy too.
